Economy, as far back as possible since it is more likely to escape from after a plane crash.

My mother made us watch it so that we could learn English so to me it was more of chore than anything else. While it helped, it wasn't until we got cable tv that we learned the really important words.

I had a teacher in 4th grade who rewarded good class behavior by reading chapters of the Hardy Boys mystery books out loud during daily quiet time. Those books always seemed to end chapters with large or small 'cliff-hangers!' Sometimes, she would be curious enough herself to continue to the next chapter, since the chapters were somewhat short.

This got me interested enough to read all the Hardy Boys mysteries I could find in the local library and put the Hardy Boys mystery series books I'd not found in libraries on my birthday and Christmas lists! Then I moved on to the Nancy Drew mysteries and then a group of mysteries with other main characters (Sue Barton?) I can hardly even recall, all published by the same publisher, Grosset & Dunlap!

Perhaps I am wrong but that's not how I read it. I thought he was saying (and please correct me if I am mistaken) that what you described couldn't be thought of as racist because the features you said you have a preference for are not race-specific. But even if they were, as I said, that would not constitute racism. In fact, I could quite believe in a racist wanting only to have sex with the race that he or she regarded as inferior, and even that would only of itself be racism if the sexual desire was predicated on the perceived inferiority, rather than e.g. a physical feature possessed by that race.

I can be as hyperbolic as you:

The fact you don’t see your inherent racism as a product of your environment is mind boggling to me. That gay men have had to deal with all these “crosses” astounds me that they don’t recognize similar patterns in themselves or have empathy for those that suffer similar discrimination. No one said you can’t have a preference but to categorically dismiss one whole group because of their race without looking at the merits of that person?

Anyways I’ve NEVER seen anyone change their mind because of this type of discussion on any online message board, least of all this one, so there’s no point discussing it IMO

I liked Excalibur. It's a no frills kind of place and I think that the thunder from down under perform there. Stratosphere has a relaxing oxygen bar. I prefer the downtown area myself and the Plaza is a neat if not great place to stay.

No I wasn't afraid, it happened very fast. By the time I realized what had happened it was over.

We have moved to a house in 1982 in which strange things happened. Doors opened by themselves, wind up toys would play without anyone touching them, drinking glasses would shatter on the kitchen counter and pictures were thrown off the walls. In 1985, shortly after I turned 14 I was brushing my teeth before going to school. I spit out the toothpaste and looked up at the mirror and at that instance I saw a bright light like a flash from a camera. Almost at the same time I saw the reflection of a tall man, he wearing a long coat, hat and he had his hands in his coat pockets. I couldn't see any facial features, he was more like a shadow except he was solid. He walked very quickly across my field of vision and seemed to be heading towards the stairs. I waited 2 years before telling anyone about what I had seen and that's when my mom told me that she would often see the same man standing in the 2nd floor hallway. He would dissipate when she spoke to him. She also revealed that she thought that the same man had followed her around when she was a child in our homeland. Apparently this shadowy figure kept appearing to her for many years and then stopped when she became an adult.

I’m probably going to alone on this, but I find the Nick Jonas “gay marketing” thing annoying and troubling. It’s one thing to be a supporter of gay right, like say Macklemore. It’s another thing to sexually tease them for money. (Yeah I know half of you are after that)

The whole phony thing bugs the shit out of me. “Don’t make me say if I’m gay, straight, or bi, it’s none of your business! They’re just labels, and I hate labels. Now take a lot of photos of me and my girlfriend, just to make sure it’s clear I’m straight!”
