  1. Thank you! I only went to Gaiety twice in 2004 but sadly didn't get a chance to see him. That smile is indeed wonderful! May he rest in peace.
  2. I think the only thing I miss is the art of flirtation. It's better done in person versus through an app. This is why I always go to a gay friend's bday/holiday party (though I did notice in recent years that after a few hours a lot of the young guys would start discreetly checking their smartphones..) I started going to gay bathhouses in the early 2000s and from what I recall, if you have a nice body or a cute face, you can easily find a hookup. For others, that may not be the case.
  3. There was full frontal male nudity in the following plays: The Inheritance, Choir Boy, M Butterfly, and Angels in America.
  4. Did you go to any of Ben's concerts during his 2019 tour?
  5. Flying on a 747 plane where there is one large screen in the middle and everyone had to watch the same movie(s) throughout the flight. There were no small TVs back then in front of each seat. For other forms of entertainment, you can ask the flight attendant for a deck of cards. Having 1 landline phone number for a family of 6. We didn't have callerID back then so whenever the phone rang we always answered it! In addition, long distance domestic and international calls were $$$ (I grew up in NJ and recall some phone numbers that had the same area code were considered long distance too.) Classified ads (Personals) where you have to call a phone number and leave them a voicemail message.
  6. But I thought you're paying for his time? Honestly though do you think it's because he had another client before you that day? Also, do you think he needs to use Viagra?
  7. I wonder if it's similar to the Bridegroom documentary released 7-8 years ago. That was one of the most depressing gay movies/docs I've watched. :/ I remember watching Holding the Man and their depiction of an aids patient in the hospital/home was more graphic than any other gay movie I've seen before.
  8. wow didn't realize the price on goldbelly! Wow. Their pies are normally $38 here in NYC and they're a good size. It took me 4 days to finish eating the apple sour cream walnut pie over thanksgiving (yes I spent thanksgiving alone but did a zoom thing with family.)
  9. That's smart! I live in NYC so I can just walk to the Little Pie Company in hells kitchen! YEs I agree it's best to support small businesses especially during this pandemic. Thinking more about it I should get a pie this weekend.
  10. First gay porn movie I ever rented back in the early 00s from the adult section of the video store when I turned 18 was this movie called Try Again. The first scene stars Tony Piagi and Sam Carson doing it with opera music in the background.
  11. I love that pie company! Will admit I normally get the apple walnut sour cream pie for Thanksgiving each year.
  12. Have any of you ever gotten calls from your alumni office for donations on Superbowl sunday? I recall a few years back I got a call and wondered whether they targeted majors (i.e. arts) that most likely did not like or watch football.
  13. Dallas Steele used to be a TV news reporter.
  14. It can be argued it's the other way around.... Daphne taking advantage of Simon!
  15. I'm a member of a running club and ever since I saw some members were born in year 2000 that's when I first felt old.
  16. In my college days I really really loved reading Mel Keegan books. He's an Aussie who wrote gay-themed sci-fi and historical fiction erotica novels that I really liked!
  17. I first had to read that book back in 8th grade. I reread it again in college and then again in my late 20s and each time I read it I always discover something knew that I didn't realize before. I should read it again now that I'm in my 30s.

    Boston

Boston has changed a lot. I lived there summer 1998 and I remember going to this independent film theater near Kendall Square where I watched the movie Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss. I wasn't 21 yet and I didn't have a fake ID so instead during weekends I just went to the gay bookstore on Boylston st and was able to meet a few guys there who introduced me to other gay films like Beautiful Thing and Broadway Damage. The Boston gay pride march near Boston Common was the first pride march I ever attended and that was a really cool and eye opening experience for me.
  20. I agree with other comments. Before covid the only time I went to a gay bar (I'm in my 30s) was for a friend's bday or if a friend wanted to go out. One thing I would do if I had the money and time is open up an lgbt friendly coffeehouse. I went to school in NYC and fondly remember the BIG CUP. It was the only place where gay teenagers without fake ID can hangout in other than the piers. My friends and I loved going there. I know competition is tough with Starbucks and other coffee places but I think independent coffeehouses have a niche and can succeed in certain neighborhoods.

  22. Have you asked him if it's possible for him to have sex at the other guy's place instead of yours?
