  1. wow didn't realize the price on goldbelly! Wow. Their pies are normally $38 here in NYC and they're a good size. It took me 4 days to finish eating the apple sour cream walnut pie over thanksgiving (yes I spent thanksgiving alone but did a zoom thing with family.)
  2. That's smart! I live in NYC so I can just walk to the Little Pie Company in hells kitchen! YEs I agree it's best to support small businesses especially during this pandemic. Thinking more about it I should get a pie this weekend.
  3. First gay porn movie I ever rented back in the early 00s from the adult section of the video store when I turned 18 was this movie called Try Again. The first scene stars Tony Piagi and Sam Carson doing it with opera music in the background.
  4. I love that pie company! Will admit I normally get the apple walnut sour cream pie for Thanksgiving each year.
  5. Have any of you ever gotten calls from your alumni office for donations on Superbowl sunday? I recall a few years back I got a call and wondered whether they targeted majors (i.e. arts) that most likely did not like or watch football.
  6. Dallas Steele used to be a TV news reporter.
  7. It can be argued it's the other way around.... Daphne taking advantage of Simon!
  8. I'm a member of a running club and ever since I saw some members were born in year 2000 that's when I first felt old.
  9. In my college days I really really loved reading Mel Keegan books. He's an Aussie who wrote gay-themed sci-fi and historical fiction erotica novels that I really liked!
  10. I first had to read that book back in 8th grade. I reread it again in college and then again in my late 20s and each time I read it I always discover something knew that I didn't realize before. I should read it again now that I'm in my 30s.

    Boston

Boston has changed a lot. I lived there summer 1998 and I remember going to this independent film theater near Kendall Square where I watched the movie Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss. I wasn't 21 yet and I didn't have a fake ID so instead during weekends I just went to the gay bookstore on Boylston st and was able to meet a few guys there who introduced me to other gay films like Beautiful Thing and Broadway Damage. The Boston gay pride march near Boston Common was the first pride march I ever attended and that was a really cool and eye opening experience for me.
  13. I agree with other comments. Before covid the only time I went to a gay bar (I'm in my 30s) was for a friend's bday or if a friend wanted to go out. One thing I would do if I had the money and time is open up an lgbt friendly coffeehouse. I went to school in NYC and fondly remember the BIG CUP. It was the only place where gay teenagers without fake ID can hangout in other than the piers. My friends and I loved going there. I know competition is tough with Starbucks and other coffee places but I think independent coffeehouses have a niche and can succeed in certain neighborhoods.

  15. Have you asked him if it's possible for him to have sex at the other guy's place instead of yours?

  17. I'm also a fan of the olympics! I still remember watching the 1996 games during summer break while I was in middle school. Love watching athletics and gymnastics. I hope they'll still host the olympics even without any spectators.
  18. Seems like most if not all examples are comparing celebrities when they were in their 20s/30s versus to how they look now.
  19. Loved the Van Gogh museum as well! I'll admit I was 20 years old when I visited Amsterdam during study abroad and a friend told my friends and I that some of the paintings may a make more sense if we had a beer or two before going to the museum and he was right! Nowadays when I go to an art museum I prefer to drink a glass of wine or beer before going.
  20. I know what you mean. I'm in my late 30s now and I felt that way back in my early 30s. I hope it gets better for you. For my friends in their early 40s, a good number are more established but some still live paycheck to paycheck or maxing out cards or are unable to keep a stable job. I think part of it may be the industry you work in or the economy or simply luck. It's also taking advantage of the opportunities given to you at the right time (thing is we don't really know until later if we missed an opportunity or took advantage of one.) I feel we hear a lot of the positive stories in life but in reality there are also a lot of depressing stories out there as well. The longer I live the more I realize what Forrest Gump said was indeed true.... life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna git. Hang in there though and enjoy your early 30s!
  21. Some friends joke with me that part of their 401k retirement money is reserved for hiring when they're over 55 yo but I wouldn't be surprised.
  22. I went to Gaiety theatre back in 2004 with another gay friend. Looking back I wish we had sat in the front row but we just didn't have the guts nor the dollar bills to stay there. It was cool to meet the strippers afterwards in that side room; kind of like the stage door area outside a Broadway theatre.
  23. When I turned 35 I just remember filling out surveys and I had to bubble in the 35-44 age category instead of the 21-34 or 30-34 and somehow I felt old too. I've found that I tend to feel 'old' when I hangout with friends who are younger than me. When I hangout with friends older than me, I tend to feel 'young'. Not sure if that will help or not. I'm currently 37 and I don't think of myself as old though I may do so in a few years. As for the weight issue, I'm no help there as my weight tend to goes up and down plus or minus 20 pounds depending on the season. Hang in there bud. I've watched chub porn online and there are guys who look like they weigh 300+ who still get laid from apps and what not!
  24. Is there a gay porn star who looks like Rege?
  25. I saw Justin Owen on my flight to San Diego once several years ago.
