I have another job that is my main source of income which fills up a good amount of time. I am now making plans to re-launch my massage practice again in Palm Springs hopefully in March/April. Ive been establishing the additional protocols for the re-launch so that everything is as safe and sanitized as possible, shooting photos, working out in my home gym, and staying in touch with my friends.

I can't speak for the masseur that you were trying to hire, but it may be that he simply doesn't have the energy or stamina to do sessions that are longer than an hour at a time. Good massages are extremely physical, and not everyone has the energy for extended sessions.

I cant imagine not giving a client his full time, but my recommendation is to communicate in a direct but kind way. You can say something like, “ I really enjoy your massage, but do you know what would make it 10 times better? If you didn’t check your phone while warming up the oil, and if you gaave me the full time each session”. This will give him the chance and choice to do better. Hopefully, he’ll make the adjustments, if not, then you can nake the choice to continue seeing him or move on. Problem solved.

I think you should ask if they mind first. Depending on when you do it. If you’re talking about when you’re being intimate then it’s probably fine but if not, then you may want to ask because some may love it and some may not.

I try to remind myself to be grateful every day. I do realize that I am very fortunate especially right now.

I’m a masseur but since there is no masseur sections, I’m going to post here since there are escorts have much very similar lifestyles. I went on hiatus from massage once Covid hit. I massage on the side, I have a full time career job, but am I the only one that is on hiatus that feels a void from not doing being to take their clients. I miss my business and It has almost nothing to do with money because my full time career job pays me well (although I do miss the extra money A LOT, but I miss MY business, my sessions, experiences with clients, being in complete control of my business. With things being shut down in LA its tough to find things to fill that void. Are any of you who are on hiatus feeling similar? If so, what are you doing to manage those feelings?

I agree with @RandyVue. If someone flakes, you can just not book an appointment with them again. Anyone I dont want to book with for one reason or another, I save their number and put “do not book” next to their number so that the next time they call or text, I know not to book them.
