The Commonplace Expectation of $100 Massage/$200 Escort?
+ Jamie21 replied to JB_Studio38's topic in Questions About Hiring
Firstly I’ve solved the problem for myself in my operating model. I don’t want or need to spend energy trying to change things that are likely beyond my ability to change, such as human nature, the laws of economics or Rentmasseur’s website (I prefer their earlier version to the recent ‘upgrade’). Secondly, when I did suggest solutions none of them fitted your specific circumstances (after you’d clarified your circumstances). So it seems rather pointless to engage if the problem keeps morphing into ever more nuanced descriptions of your particular issues. Feels like chasing chimera. I think it was Bruce Lee who said ‘be like water’. I like to be like that and adapt myself to the situation rather than try to adapt the situation to me. It works better in my experience. -

The Commonplace Expectation of $100 Massage/$200 Escort?
+ Jamie21 replied to JB_Studio38's topic in Questions About Hiring
Oh I wasn’t offended. Nor do I want you to say nothing. Nor do I offer you advice. I put my opinion. There’s no right or wrong there’s just different opinions based on different experiences and beliefs and circumstances. Your observation about people in the $100 -$150 - $200 realm is one I recognise. I expressed how I deal with it. There’s things I can control, which I take action on, and things I can’t control which I ignore so that they don’t wear me down. I can’t control how you respond so it doesn’t offend me. I won’t offer any more thoughts on it because I think you just want to be heard rather than engaged with (and you’ll probably tell me I’ve misinterpreted that too!). Good luck with everything. -
I don’t ask for deposits for an out call. If I get red flags in the interaction then I’d rather decline the booking than bother with a deposit. If someone wants me to travel for over an hour to get to them then unless they pay the whole fee up front I’d decline the booking. It’s just not worth the risk.

The Commonplace Expectation of $100 Massage/$200 Escort?
+ Jamie21 replied to JB_Studio38's topic in Questions About Hiring
There are no solutions only trade offs. My trade off is as I described and it saves me the trouble of handling clients who want to pay for A but get B. I offered it as my tactic not as advice to you. I’m aware Rentmasseur offers different rates…I’m on the platform myself. I know how it works. I don’t use that feature. And how I interpreted your comment about offering lower rates is I think how most readers would have interpreted it. If I misunderstood your point I’m sorry but it does seem to happen regularly that you make a point, someone responds and you refute their reply by saying they didn’t understand your point. It’s happened every single time I’ve engaged with you! If you want to vent your frustrations into an echo chamber this probably isn’t the place to do it. -

+ Jamie21 replied to JB_Studio38's topic in Questions About Hiring
Well I’m glad you clarified because it wasn’t what you said originally. You implied you’d lower your normal rate if you were busy enough and the booking was additional. The difficulty with offering a range of services at different price points is clients want the ‘large size serving’ whilst paying for the ‘medium size serving’ so to speak. I avoid offering a range of price points based on content, I simply base the price on duration. The price is set to include everything I’m comfortable offering. If someone wants just a therapeutic massage for example the price is the same as for sensual. It may mean I lose therapeutic only clients who want to pay less but oh well, so be it. It reduces the likelihood of someone booking therapeutic and then asking me to be naked and waving his hard on in my face asking me to finish him off! This business is all about discipline: having a clear defined business model that works for you and sticking to it. -

Never ever do that. Never… because it sets an expectation. Do it once and you’ll end up doing it regularly as sure as night follows day. -
The Commonplace Expectation of $100 Massage/$200 Escort?
+ Jamie21 replied to JB_Studio38's topic in Questions About Hiring
Yes $100 is too cheap. I simply set my rate where it should be for me (my value of my service) advertise it thus, and decline any requests for a lower rate. It’s fairly simple. Even if that means I get zero clients I’m not doing a massage for $100. In practice I get sufficient clients so there’s a market for me (most of them are regulars) which implies they get value from it. If I find I can no longer get clients I’m not reducing the rate, I’m leaving the business. -

Anybody else fall for the men they hire?
+ Jamie21 replied to + Rgsnva's topic in Questions About Hiring
Was after the HE. Probably the way I licked the cum up from his navel to his chest and then looked into his eyes as I lifted my head. Too erotic. -

I can think of a couple of my clients who, if I gave a green light to, would push it further and seek a non financial relationship. I’m careful to keep a professional distance with them, which is indeed a tightrope because of the service. For example I include kissing, it gets very passionate, intimate. They think ‘he doesn’t do this with others, only me’. It’s very easy for someone who might be vulnerable and open to a relationship to think one is available. I’ve had a client tell me he loved me, and I didn’t see that coming. Total shock. My advice to clients; don’t mistake a professionals skill for something else. If you start to fall for him, step away. If you can’t, be prepared for disappointment. If the provider initiates a relationship outside of the professional then you can go for it. -
Don't laugh lol. Serious question about the term, "Daddy"
+ Jamie21 replied to GTMike's topic in Questions About Hiring
I was thrown when a guy first called me daddy. It was quite a surprise. In his situation it couldn’t have been one where he was expecting financial benefits because he was the one paying me, as a client of mine. As he explained to me after the massage he’s attracted to older guys (he was early 20’s). He said he found guys his age to be too immature. Since that occasion I’ve discovered there’s loads of guys like him who are attracted to older guys, especially those who are in shape. I’m not complaining and now I actually play up to the daddy role for them. -
I’d say no you’re not. Find the right guy to hire and you’ll feel 20 again. If you approach it with the attitude that you’re not suitable then it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. Pretend if you have to, at least initially, because if you believe you’re worthy of hiring then you will be. Some of my clients are 60’s, a few 70+. Some are 20’s. Those who feel sexy are sexy, those who doubt themselves struggle to get into it. I believe it’s all to do with how you think. Go for it.

I have done this kind of thing a few times, not for a client but for a professional acquaintance. I attend as a demo masseur at his massage themed parties. Think house party with a carefully curated guest list of around 80 people who have paid to attend. It’s a mix of couples and singles, male and female (about 50:50) of all orientations: straight, gay, bisexual, bi curious (whatever that is) and obviously all open to the idea of erotic massage and sex in a group social setting even if for many of them this is new to them. It can be challenging because you’re working so you need to stay aware of what’s going on. The host asks me to get things going of course (not a problem for an exhibitionist!) but also to keep an eye out for anyone being harassed or pestered which can happen even when the guest list has been carefully vetted. He also asks me to pay attention to those who may be on their own or anxious and if say a husband wants to explore with a gay guy then I help him with that. I find it’s really interesting watching people and being involved with the dynamics at such a party. I’ve got plenty of new clients from them too. I’d definitely recommend doing something like it even if it takes up time. I usually spend around 6 hours at the party (including being there before the start) so in terms of money it’s not the same value as a client session but it’s definitely worth it for me in terms of profile and learning.

How to Respond to Being Ghosted After Vacation?
+ Jamie21 replied to FaustOust's topic in Questions About Hiring
Make this clear to him, that you’re hiring and not looking for something off the clock. In my experience some clients, after even a couple of sessions that went well, progress quickly to a very casual kind of interaction where it implies they’ve moved from client status to friend status in their head. I get ‘hey how are you?’ messages and ‘would be great to see you again’. It’s difficult to respond to that so you just ignore it or send a 👍. I get the sense that they’re fishing for me to say “sure let’s meet for a drink” or to start a chat over text about random stuff. I don’t want to hurt his feelings or lose a client so I just respond with the minimum necessary to remain polite. You’re the client, so it’s up to you to make it clear you want to hire him and you’re not looking for anything else. Don’t be ambiguous. If you do want a relationship, say so clearly, and then you’ll find out (…it might be painful). It sounds like he’s good at the job, and what he is doing is keeping a professional distance, which any good escort would. -
Strictly therapeutic masseurs on gay sites - yay or nay?
+ Jamie21 replied to viewing ownly's topic in Questions About Hiring
This one is very important. All those things @Simon Suraci said are helpful but I think this one is a must have. You’re going to get intimate with the guy you hire (you hope… if you’re hiring for a sensual massage) so you have to feel comfortable with him. Doesn’t matter if he looks like a Greek God and he’s a fabulous masseur: if his personality or behaviour makes you anxious it’s a waste of time. If you’re hiring just for the quality of technical massage with no intention of any sensual or erotic elements then I’d say you don’t even need pictures. Just go by his or her style and qualifications. I’ve had great technical massages from masseuses and masseurs but it’s very different from a great sensual massage and I’d use very different criteria to make my selection. -

Strictly therapeutic masseurs on gay sites - yay or nay?

That’s how I do it with virtually every massage if given the option to do so by my client. I don’t start naked, they start with a towel on. It begins just like a therapeutic only massage. For example if it’s a two hour session (the best duration to do a proper job) the towel is still on him after 30 minutes, I’m still fully in shorts and top, no oil has been applied, no touch has been made to his bum or cock or anywhere near and we’re already 25% of the way through the session…..that might sound like nothing erotic has happened but that’s such a misunderstanding of the situation! There’s all sorts of cues and hints one can do to build the sexual tension 😉. Everything has happened…in his head because I’ve put it there. This, in my view is the best kind of session because I focus my attention on his biggest sex organ, his mind… and there’s so so much one can do there. Most guys might have had what I call a rub and tug style ‘sensual’ massage. It’s an average therapeutic massage with a jerk off. I think the majority of providers advertising do that kind of session. It’s like fast food, briefly satisfying and can serve a purpose. Sometimes clients want just that, a quick massage or even to climax in the first 10 minutes and then relax into a nice therapeutic style massage. I do those kind of ‘happy start’ sessions for a few guys who just can’t wait and can only relax once they’ve cum. However when clients experience a proper sensual massage over 2 hours, where the masseur works their body and their mind…well that’s gourmet and after that they don’t want to go back to fast food. -
He doesn’t seem to be getting much sympathy. I think it would be better if he’d survived the shooting but injured…. and had his insurer refuse to pay for his treatment. Our healthcare in UK is rationed. There’s effectively unlimited demand and limited resources. Wait lists ration the treatment and work to reduce demand (people die waiting). If you don’t like to wait for treatment free at the point of use then you can buy treatment outside of the NHS either via insurance or pay directly. All the debate is about how effective the state provision is. In any system, private or state, the government needs to regulate the market. Whether it’s a state market or private market there will be incentives by the actors to use their power against the best interests of the customers. That could be profiteering, cartels, union power abuses. All the kinds of things that governments are supposed to prevent happening through good legislation and governance. This is a failure of government.

Strictly therapeutic masseurs on gay sites - yay or nay?

The trouble is, clients say they just want a great therapeutic massage, but then they try to make it into a HE style during the session by either pressing their hand into my shorts, caressing my leg, or asking me to remove the towel on them and opening their legs etc…. If you’re not paying sensual massage rates please don’t try and get a sensual or erotic style massage on the cheap…even if it’s a ‘last 5 minutes jerk off’. It’s happened too many times for me to offer that kind of massage so I stopped offering it and now do sensual/erotic only. Clients still get a great massage of course but at least the rate I’m getting reflects the content of the session. -
The only info on clients I share (I’m not saying where) is if he’s violent, refuses to pay or is a serial time waster (no shows). I’ll share his number and the name he used. The number of clients I’ve seen is in 4 figures. The number of those who fall into the above category is 2. That’s because I screen them out but also because it’s pretty rare to get a client who is worth reporting. I’m never going to share details of those clients who may be a bit annoying, who are challenging to see, who like unusual things or who share condfidences with me. All of those things are 100% between me and him. I certainly know clients who visit friends of mine who do this work because I’ve referred them to him or he has referred me to them or we’ve both seen the client in a duo session. However I never discuss with my friends what happens in my sessions with the client. We talk ‘shop’ of course but without naming clients. It tends to be on things like hotels we visited, whether it’s busy, where to advertise etc. I think when you do this kind of work you realise that anything that happens between you and the client is specific to that situation. The client could behave differently with another guy. I had a client I could have sworn was 100% bottom but when I did a session for him with another provider the client topped us both. He was like a different guy. That’s why I think references have limited value. If you’re thinking of hiring they give you an idea but the dynamics of the guy you’re hiring and you are only ever going to be particular to the two of you at that time and moment. If one person has a bad experience sometime it doesn’t mean you will.

Clients don’t know their schedule?!

In any situation the person with the greatest flexibility in thinking is the most likely to succeed. Think about that in the context of the debates above.
