I’m curious – are there ways that a potential good client could indicate to you that they’re honest and forthcoming without klaxons going off. A joke can be misread as an insult. etc. What sort of things can a potential good client do to assure an escort that they are indeed not just jerking them around? Or are after something still more nefarious?

@Rod Hagen – it’s also fair to point out that in the recent history you describe, a client would also likely be more willing to spend that kind of money because the price was commensurate with the payout. That is to say, $800 went further then for the client than it does today for the client too. If the client is looking to drop money on an experience, whatever the case, he’s going to want to make sure his dollar is well spent – just as the escort is going to want to make sure he’s investing time in something that will pay back. End of story: the dollar is simply worth less to escorts and clients alike, and so it affects the way both approach the market. That puts a whole perspective on things.

Well, I can say I’m not paying a deposit with no assurance that it’ll be refunded if the subsequent exchange shows we’re incompatible. “Just any plumber” is a problematic way of putting that. I’m going to assume you don’t think plumbers aren’t vitally important service providers. After all, we all like our indoor plumbing… No contest that reducing it to a mere transaction is a problem, but it is true that many an escort does just that as well – treating clients as manipulable ATMs. How many escorts can “immediately” identify a “time waster?” That’s what this all got started about. How many clients classify as bad clients? Because it does seem that in the conversation here, there is an inordinate amount of talk about how poorly clients behave. There are particular escorts who write here extensively with disdain for clients, as if the escort is somehow providing some sort of grace and mercy for accepting the client’s money. While it’s about intimacy, it is a transaction. Some escorts make that much abundantly clear. It would be nice if everyone, as you say, were “thoughtful because this transaction requires care and thought.”

Then there’s the providers who won’t consider an appointment booked until they see your picture beforehand. There seems to be no universal approach!

I think what we don’t understand is how someone can be so myopic and pompous – or so vociferously discriminatory, in the strictest sense of the word as well as the broader sense.
