  1. Just checking if what thoughts were about visiting Provincetown this summer. Still have reluctance although I've had two vaccines but also wasn't sure what was going on there..thanks

I made reservations for August. I figured the majority of people will be vaccinated by then. And there's enough outdoor spaces to enjoy drinks and oysters.

I did make sure all the reservations are csncelable just in case.

  2. I enjoyed Coral Spa near Playa Los Muertos and Hamam Turkish Bath below Spartacus Bathhouse, although had to have reservations days in advance for Hamam Turkish Bath.

I went to the Hammam last time I was in PV and got a really hot guy, but no enjoyment just they longest bath ever and 2 oreos. I'll try Coral Spa on my next trip.

  3. I did hire two "regulars" that I've hired before. One through Rentmen, one through Grindr. I also found more guys on Grindr, but I didn't follow through. A week simply was not enough time for me.

Also had fun at two new (to me) massage parlors I hadn't tried before.

I enjoyed the three strip clubs that were open. There were very few patrons in each establishment. Multiple times I had three or more dancers competing for my attention and taking care of me in the public areas of the strip clubs. It helps that tipping them each $500 pesos (only $25 US) kept them happy for multiple songs.

The real highlight of my trip was the great drag queens Miss Conception, Sutton Lee Seymour, and Hedda Lettuce. Check them out if you go soon, before they close again!

Which massage parlors? I've never had any luck in PV.

I also heard they expect another shut down soon for about 2 weeks. Was planning to go last week of March.

  4. The Mexican president's response to and handling of COVID has been crazier than Trump's was. And he too is now positive and continues counting on amulets and prayers. PV is in the Mexican state of Jalisco, which is doing a better job. Still, the numbers in Mexico are bad:

Also one note on the numbers: Previously they were only testing in hospitals when people came in I'll, so it was NOT close to an accurate representation of community positivity. Now they have expanded testing and the numbers are rising. Some have suggested the real positivity rate is closer to 60%.

    P. S. The new variant was also detected in PV in the last week.

  5. If we can't get a massage; if we can't hang out with family and friends; if we can't go out in public; if we can't go to the gym or school or work...

    That just isn't living.

There are two sides to this coin and I support people's right to make their own choices.

Living should not be about putting other people's health at risk for your own amusement. It's not longer personal choice, it's personal responsibility.

  6. Wow! These certainly send up several red flags. South California has some of the highest incidence rates of human trafficking in the US (per U.S. National Human Trafficking hotline). To blow it off as not being a high fashion photo shoot is... alarming.

Second, Palm Spring governor has publicly called the end of exploitation of these minorities in a pandemic (Per her Press Release). AT BEST this is a spa that is trying to get around the mandatory closures by out-calling these poor guys - at worst this is actual human trafficking.

Third, California hospitals are over 100% capacity - it's not longer about taking precautions during these activities - it's taking personal responsibility by amending your behavior. This is a pandemic, with real people dying. We can’t solve a pandemic on the backs of a few, while others disregard their personal responsibility by calling it personal choice.

Overall, I wouldn't touch these guys with @big dale 's pol... ER a 10-foot pole.

  7. On thing to be careful of with strip bars is if they offer you a private dance at XXX amount it's per SONG not per dance. A friend of mine got in some trouble when Happy Tap was around in Windsor. A dance quoted him $10 or $15 for a private dance

Ahh.. I remember The Happy Tap. Happy memories! I use to go there when 19 so I could drink. There were some scammers in there (and the Gold Coast). One of my first bars I had to figure out how to tip strippers with coins.

  8. I'm looking at Carnival in Rio this year. It's been moved from Feb to July 2021. I plan/hope to be fully vaccinated by then. I've avoided COVID this long, I can wait a bit longer.

I've just started looking at the vaccine data in Brazil (I work in research) and I'm not fully up to speed on the AstraZeneca vaccine they'll be seeking approval for in about 2 weeks. BUT it appears to only be 50-60% effective after 2 doses. They also appear to be seeking full approval rather than Emergency Use authorization (not sure why other than saying the process is onerous in Brazil). Even so they expect to have 100 million doses by mid-2021, so roughly enough for a quarter of the population to receive 2 doses.

High level take away - I'd wait a few months to see how things shake out. I'm anxious as anyone, but also realize the way to beat this virus is to break the chain(s) of transmission either via vaccine or reduced movement through the population (i.e. stay home).

  9. They've moved Carnival from Feb to July 2021. I'm assuming/hoping/prayin to Jeezus that I'm fully vaccinated by then. I've been super careful all pandemic and haven't hooked up at all so I'm feeling Rio may be a good place to do years worth of catching up.

I'd enjoying hearing stories and recommendations (hotels, places to eat, things to do, boys to do, whatever) from people's expreince at/during Carnival.
