  1. I went a few weeks ago. Two guys were working. Both asian and were wearing masks so hard to describe what they looked like. Massage was adequate, but too light at times. But I left happy. Definitely worth checking out the other options there.

You tipped $70 and he was "disappointed" with that? SMH, sounds like he was being a bit greedy. Your tip was VERY VERY generous in my opinion, unless of course he provided extra extra's that had other extra's being extra.

Agreed. Dunno how extra the extras were but 100% is right in line in my opinion.

If you are vaccinated, who cares if other people are vaccinated or not??  The chance of you being vaccinated, getting Covid, AND having significant illness as a result is essentially zero - you are more likely to die in a car crash driving to the massage.  And the chance of you being vaccinated, getting Covid AND passing Covid on to someone who isn't vaccinated (for a reason other than just their personal choice) is also basically zero.  This is all a risk allocation issue - you can't completely eliminate all risk in life.

Oh gosh - I 'm not sure I have the energy or the crayons to respond to this, but here we go.

Contracting COVID is not "essential 0" for vaccinated people. mRNA vaccines provides a 95% risk reduction, less with J&J, and less against any of these variants. None of these are = 0. This has been widely published.

About 38,000 died in car accidents last, about 500,000 died of Covid-19. 38k is not less than 500k. Not that these two are events are even comparable equivalents. See "false equivalents".

Just because you can't mitigate all risk doesn't mean you can't practice risk reduction (or a modicum of common sense). First remove the threat then remove the protection.

Not sure what you were a [preppy] student of, but I'm guessing it wasn't math, science, or stats. TV/VCR repair, maybe? 😉

  4. Now that the CDC has recently updated guidelines, based on science and data, for those to not necessarily wear masks indoors and outdoors for persons fully vaccinated two weeks after 2nd shot, anyone contemplating to venture out and getting a massage without masks?

I'm fully vaccinated and so are some of my go to guys, so I'm comfortable getting a massage now.

But I'll be 100% masked walking up into Whitetrash-Mart. I trust the mask more than people these days.

My two cents on dropping the mask mandate is that it's just going to drag things out even longer. Ug.

  5. I've gone to an event there twice. First time stayed there, second time we stayed at a Holiday inn express downtown and just went for the event.

Fun place spaces and I liked the pool but didn't like staying there but we stayed in the older part of the hotel. Carpet was almost bare, towels were super thin and old bed and the wifi was like being on a 2400 baud dial in. The pool was clean but the hottub was sort of dirty

If you go I'd buy a day pass and stay at another hotel in town.

They renovated about half the rooms over COVID. I'm staying in a brand new room, so I'll report back.

  6. I haven't thought about that place in a long time, and haven't been there in 10-12 years, but this thread's revival brings back pleasant memories.

Yep. They've renovated, I'm vaccinated and infection rates are very low. So I thought I'd break my dry spell there. I got some catching up to do ;)

  7. The now-closed Gold Coast in Detroit used to hold 'private parties', invitation only and some rules about when you had to get there & whether or not you could get back in if you left. That was one way of getting around laws, or so they said.

I miss The Gold Coast. Probably was there 6 or 7 years ago. It was... an experience.

  8. Have you read the thread above? TSMS just reopened after being raided due to a guy taking pictures and posting them on-line. The idiot ruined it for everybody. Details are above in this thread.

Yes, and if you had read the thread you'd see I even commented on it (twice). I asked for recent feedback not a thread recap.

So, again, since it reopened over a week ago any recent experiences? I would like to support the place.

  9. I don't think the Alex who goes by the name of Blessings is the Alex who was at Utopia and Shangri-la. I remember Alex at those spas. A real hunk who got naked fast, and liked to play. He was from Venezuela. Blessings doesn't appear to be the same person. I note that Blessings gets a lot of money for his massages, and none of the reviewers use the word "erotic" to describe them. I think that's a bit odd, but none of my business.

And I would also love to know where Alex from the spas is now!

Alex from Utopia got married last summer and moved to Austin.

  10. I think... it depends.

There's two thing I'm looking for now:

1.) Vaccinations. I'll be vaccinated next month due to the acceleration of timelines and the sharp increase of supplies. And I'll be looking for masseurs who are also fully vaccinated.

2.) Low infection rate in the area. I'm currently in a high infection rate area, but driving to the outer shore later in April where there are only 45 cases in the whole county. I will certainly feel safer there and may get a massage.

While nothing is 100% I've made it 13 months COVID free and I ain't trying to screw it up now! Be be safe my friends.

  11. I just cancelled my April PV trip. Deaths have topped 200K (likely much higher), Torurist cities have been particularly hard hit due to tourism. They started vaccinations then ran into a supply chain issue. I don't know if vaccinations have resumed. From social media there's little compliance to social distancing and mask wearing. As their going into the rainy season I image it'll get worse before it gets better.

    I'll rebook for November.
