There are a lot of facts we're not getting, so it's tough for me to say much of anything.
I'm incredibly sorry you got this news.  It's jarring and difficult, but like others have said here, it's a manageable diagnosis.
Get your HIV genotyping done.  Find an ID doc you feel comfortable with.  Take care of YOU, first and foremost.
Be angry for now, but don't let that consume you long term.

Nothing being factual, how about the provider who claims to speak 2 common European languages, and can't even say 'thank you' in either of the languages he claims to speak?

I suspect gay porn is the culprit.

It's truly fascinating how much gay men are obsessed with dick size. So much so that even a virgin wants to ride the big horse instead of starting with a pony.

Same here.  I’ve been contacted on RM and this site about guys I’ve hired.  I’ll reply, “what do you want to know?” and let them ask questions.  I’ll answer those with which I’m comfortable.   I won’t divulge graphic details and when asked about rates I simply tell them they should discuss that with the provider.  I pretty much stick to a few regulars.  I don’t want to create an awkward situation for them if they’re providing me with a lower rate for my repeat business.

I just looked online at an inflation calculator.  It seems that $50 in 1973 would be equivalent to $303 today.

The guys who ask for $300+ and get it, do.
The guys who ask for $300+ and starve, don't.
Not everyone is cut out for premium pricing, both as an escort and a client.

For me it's personality. If we both hit it off, I dont even think about a tip. That always sorts itself out if we are both genuinely enjoying ourselves. And from a repeat business POV, it translates to that client becoming a regular.

The only other thing I'll say about this topic is this...

Some of you are comparing apples to assholes: Escorts may make as much as doctors or lawyers, but make no mistake, the level of intimacy and overall experience is nowhere near the same.

Bottom line, I'm neither here nor there about tipping. As a client, you do what makes you comfortable.

For almost 40 years I worked in an industry that, if something went seriously wrong, could endanger the health and safety of tens of thousands of people living within 50 miles of one of my company's facilities. Risk analysis was part of every action, every day.

That analysis basically asked two questions: what might go wrong, and what might be the consequences. Low likelihood with minor consequence was of little concern. High likelihood with minor consequence was seen more as an embarrassment and inconvenience, and was to be avoided so far as practical. Any degree of likelihood with catastrophic consequence was deemed unacceptable, and measures were put in place to make its occurrence as near to impossible as procedure and technology allowed.

PrEP has changed the landscape for sexual activity, as have advances in treatment for cases of contracted HIV. AIDS is no longer a death sentence and the risk of catastrophic consequence has been generally eliminated. The risks of contracting one or more of any number of STDs increases when condoms are not used, but most of these consequences can be treated fairly quickly and easily. Recognition of the condition, receiving treatment, and refraining from further sexual contact until no longer contagious are keys to community health and a required exercise of personal responsibility, as is informing future partners of your infection history and status.

Armed with all this, use of a condom, or lack of one with mutual consent, is a personal choice to be made in an informed manner and consistent with the individuals' comfort levels in the face of known or potential risks. If the two cannot agree, they ought not play together.

The worst face of this is to lie to your partner. The dumbest is to believe that lie. But it's unlikely your life still depends on it.

No one is suggesting that sex can be made 100% risk free, or that a person shouldn't engage in such activities unless it is 100% risk free. It's about mitigating that risk to a level that is comfortable for the individual and their partner. For some, it may be intercourse with no protection whatsoever, while for others it may be abstinance. It ultimately comes down to finding the most appropriate balance between the value a person places on sex, and the level of risk they are willing to assume.

I realize this thread is very old, but let's be clear... the title of this thread gets it ALL WRONG. The opposite of "safe" is not "bare", it is "unsafe". Bare still means unsafe. Even with PrEP.

PrEP will protect you from HIV, but it doesn't give you any protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Using a condom is the best way to prevent other STIs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, and hepatitis C.

As a provider, I go by my client’s request. Except that if I’m bottoming then I require a condom.
if you find a provider who insists on bb then avoid him. You’re the client, it should be your decision.

I had read it as the guy just got up and left before he could get paid, not that the norm was him to literally ask for the money each time. But I agree the phrasing was unclear. If the fee was known beforehand in general you should hand it to them or leave it somewhere clear for them to pick up.

Pay them. Guys hire me for massage which is sensual so it will get intimate. Sometimes they just want sex though and if that’s the case then the massage is curtailed. I still expect payment and I think that’s reasonable.

My view has always been to just use a condom because you can't naively believe what someone tells you their status is.

Any concern you have, always ask. Be direct.

If an escort seems offended that you asked, move on. That's a bad sign.
