He's completely real - pics are 100% accurate. Really nice guy; gives a very solid massage on the floor with mats and pillows. I asked him after why he was so cheap (and that he could get a lot more per session) and he said he believes in being able to offer affordable good massage, without an expectation of extras, or HE. But I think if the connection is there for him he'll go there - I was fortunate in that it did with me. And I think if the guy is only charging $80; is genuinely hot; and gives a good massage - he has every right to decide whether or not he wants to go a little further.

My personal view is that if you provide only therapeutic massage you should keep it professional. When you advertise on Grindr, like he does, you are stepping over that line...nobody i know goes to Grindr for a therapeutic massage... ?

If you like his look, you are in for a treat. He used to work at Manta spa and was reveered on this forum as the most skilled among all the spa masseurs in NYC. Beards are not for me, but I tried him anyway, and was very impressed.

I think this is the most likely explanation of the different experiences here: You guys saw different guys!
 
I've had a recent experience in NYC where I texted with one person whose English was perfect but then the masseur turned out to be a completely different story. We could barely understand each other, but he was the guy shown in the picture (really hot, btw), excellent masseur, and it ended up being a nice experience. "His location" was a midtown apartment that's obviously used by multiple guys and he actually lives in Brooklyn. I'd see him again, if I could be sure that he would be the one to show up. And I'd do an outcall, it was suboptimal to be at that nondescript drab place.
 
On another occasion, I wanted an outcall to my hotel. The texting was smooth, but the guy who showed up wasn't the one from the ad and his English was again really bad. I said no thanks and sent him on his way without paying anything. He didn't protest, he wanted to call "his boss" but I declined any further business.
 
It seems to be a new "business model," and it's a hit or miss from the client's perspective. Caution advised in any case.

Absolutely terrible. I stupidly broke my own rule of not trying someone new who had no reviews/comments here or on masseurfinder. He looks just like his photos and is a nice enough guy, but he has zero massage skill and offers nothing sensual whatsoever. He kept rubbing my back over and over again - then sprayed my back with rubbing alcohol - then started rubbing my back again. I asked him if he was going to work on my legs or my front and he said he didn't know how to do that and admitted that I was only the second massage he had ever given (this was two weeks ago). I also got the feeling someone else acts as his "agent/pimp"
TOTAL Waste of time and money.

A very good and pleasant experience, the dude knows what he is doing, handles glutes and other tricky areas with a gusto, is friendly and professional, and his place is nice and conveniently located. I just love it when they get naked right away, it makes me feel comfortable and "levels the playing field," whether things turn sensual or not. And yes, it did turn sensual (but of course not sexual, which I don't want anyway) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd see him again if my boys Brad or Yosi are not in town, the only reason being that I have better chemistry with them and find them insanely sexy, even though their massage is not as sensual. Ivan politely responded to my message that he doesn't feel comfortable being naked (or touched), so I decided to pass. I have made it my requirement, sorry. If I am going to be lying there naked, I want my masseur to be ready to be naked with me. Without that, I might as well go to a regular massage place and get professional quality service for $80-100 an hour. Interestingly, his posted rate was $140 when I inquired. I just checked and it is now $160, maybe he changed his mind?

He is a nice dude, insanely hot, generally knows what he is doing, but the whole experience was underwhelming. Yeah, he has some training but he uses tons of baby oil and the massage is a little half-assed. Yeah, he gets naked but you have to remind him, even though you specified that in the initial texts. Yeah, he allows touching but he clearly dislikes it, so you just give up as soon as you find out because it feels weird. Etc. etc. His English is quite basic but his texts were very literate, which suggests that I was talking to a handler who recruits hot and mostly straight Eastern Europeans, for whom this is an attractive gig. And he probably makes a lot by charging them a percentage (and without fully disclosing to them what the client's expectations are?), which is an additional turnoff.

Yes to both, however those are the mechanical aspects of the interaction. What is much more important is the human connection between the client and therapist.

Because this is a place to dicuss interesting topics on massage. I find it refreshing to have topics like this rather than a constant stream of 411's.

Just speaking from my own experience with this forum, I have found that guys are always willing to share information about their experiences. Some provide more details than others but I always get enough info to decide whether to see a particular masseur. I try to be helpful too when I can, especially in situations where I have had a less than positive experience with a masseur and want to make sure that others are aware of the potential for them to have a similar experience before booking. But as some of the forum members have pointed out, there is (and there should be) a level of discretion in talking about what other activities a masseur might be willing to engage in with a client in a “public” way. It really is not fair to the masseur because what he may do with one client may vary widely with what he will do with a different client. For escorts it is different since they are advertising to provide a different experience. And to also reiterate what others here have said, there are other factors that impact the experience, such as the chemistry between the masseur and the client, the longevity of the relationship, how each person is feeling on a given day, etc. I think if you research masseur and reach out to forum members through a PM it will help you narrow your search and get you what you need to decide.

I don't know if it's the vice squad, but it's inappropriate to divulge information pertaining to the private activities between two adults in a public forum such as this. Even private messages can be problematic in this regard.
 
If someone advertises as an escort, fine. They have put themselves out there as offering such services. But masseurs should not be subjected to this type of voyeurism.
 
In many cases it's probably useless practical information anyway as people do different things with different clients because they know and like them. They trust them (they believe they won't "kiss and tell' on a forum such as this). They are attracted to them....etc., etc.
 
Often it's a matter of building a rapport with a masseur to get to a different level of experience. That may take time. And frankly that can add to the satisfaction and the fun.
 
But a sure way to end any beyond expectation encounters with a therapist is to start blabbing about it here.

Depending on what you’re planning on doing afterward, you may want to ask if they have a shower you can use when you’re done. And depending on your sensitivity to these kinds of things, you may want to ask if they use oil or lotion. (I like oil during a massage but it’s a pain to get off.)

Many moons ago..... Jake Deckard. I was young (maybe 20 years ago) and enamored of the pics he was posting on the internet. I had never been to a masseur before and reading up, and ogling over his pics, I created this great big fantasy of how wonderful it would all be and how happy and satisfied it would make me. Well, I arrived 15 minutes early - anxious to be there. I didn't think much to have the desk guy call up to say I was there. Jake wasn't very happy about my early arrival - which I can now totally understand - he gasped and sighed and over the phone said I should wait. I was upset at myself for being early and sat, waiting in the lobby. Once I went up, in my nervousness, I think I said all the wrong things which made him appear even less happy with my presence (I think I tried to ask him what else he did other than massage and he might have taken that as offensive - which I really didn't mean in a bad way, as being a masseur is a totally legitimate profession, and I was awkwardly trying to make small talk)...Maybe he had personal stuff going on as well, I don't know. Well, during the massage, not sure of how to go about it, I tried touching him but he kept batting my hand away, huffing and puffing like I was ruining his routine - a master doing his work... So I just gave up and laid there, miserable - with some hot dude who I totally offended mad at me and distant. My fantasy of how wonderful it would all be shattered and I couldn't stop wondering wtf I did. Finally, at some point, when he was ready, something started poking my head and I outright asked him, "May I....?" That was kinda weird. I imagined it would have been sexier than that. It was mechanical - no warmth. I half nearly choked, gave myself a HE, and left. I walked down the street sad, mad at myself for I-don't-know-what. I'd have to say that was the worst experience I've ever had.

Agree with above. It’s about the chemistry. I think I’m decent looking and have a nice d... but I come in confident. Really show the guys I’m enjoying it. Light sensual mutual touch. Moans when they are doing a good job. The best thing a masseur can say is “I never do this...” before the start blowing me or offering me their ass... Layne advertised he was going to be in the SF Bay area. So I contacted him. He made it clear his massage was therapeutic only ( $250 for 90 min outcall) . Just to make sure he was ok with a gay male client, when told him my age and that I was a gay male, something ticked him off and he responded "Your sexuality has nothing to do with the Massage so don’t bother me!" . I felt that was rude and may be shows his discomfort. 250 for therapeutic massage only was a bit too much anyway . Plus the response. So I decided not to pursue the appointment further.
