  1. Wonderful views of the food. I wish they had included some views of a large number of attractive twink dancers -- if they were there -- as well. 😊
  2. Which leads to the question (that maybe some of my Canadian friends can answer): can I just walk into the Montreal clinic when I return in August and get a second shot (i.e. will they allow that)? I initially planned to get only 1 shot, based on some reports that 1 shot plus childhood smallpox vaccination provided ample immunity. Now I'm not so sure about that.
  3. I realize I can do that, but the stylist in me thinks it makes for a neater post if you can select text and then make it into a hyperlink (e.g. "as so-and-so explained in this post...") where the blue words would be a hyperlink to the post in question. Perhaps @RadioRob can provide further elucidation to my original pair of queries.
  4. I can no longer find a couple of very useful features for composing posts to the forums: the "preview post" option that allowed me to see what my text would look like once it was posted the ability to link a piece of text to something else (in my case, most often to another post in the forums); i.e. to create a hyperlink Do these features still exist? I can't find them in the editing bar at the top of the text box nor has a search yielded any results. Help! and thanks!
  5. That was my first reaction (birthday party)...but many (most?) local guys in Montreal refer to their birthdays as "ma fête" rather than the continental French "mon anniversaire". Perhaps @SirBillybob or @Luv2play can comment. Is it a question of less/more formal language used in conversation vs. on a printed announcement? a regional thing within Quebec (some of these "ma fête" guys are dancers from the boonies)? an indicator of social class? Inquiring minds want to know....
  6. I had no reaction to the vaccination. If I worked hard, I could locate a small subcutaneous lump where on my arm where I got the vaccine and now, 18 days later, even that is gone.
  7. Earlier in this thread I wrote about my experience getting vaccinated while visiting Montreal a couple of weeks ago. @Luv2play's comment reminds me that later that day I saw a provider (guy in his early 20's) and mentioned that I had been vaccinated that morning. So had he.
  8. Got to wonder if this a reaction to the goodbye party for Gary @ Campus last week....
  9. It's really not that far to walk from Campus to Taboo. I've been known to do that several times in one evening 😉.
  10. I was in Montreal last week staying a block from the vaccine clinic on de Maisonneuve. I walked in, registered, and got vaccinated against monkeypox (they also do COVID) in less than 15 minutes (plus another 15 minutes' wait to make sure I didn't have an allergic reaction). They used my US passport for the required ID. I was very impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of the clinic personnel (and with how Quebec handles public health). No reaction or side effects so far, and I'm past day 6.
  11. I was told the first name of the new owner, and it is not that of the prior American part owner (who, I believe, gave up his stake in Campus some time ago).
  12. The BIG NEWS from Campus is that as of this past Friday there is a new owner...Thursday night was a goodbye party for long-time owner Gary. I was in the bar around 6 pm on Thursday (pretty empty at that hour) and reconnected with an Montreal acquaintance who told me the news. He also told me the name of the new owner but didn't have much else to add... I stopped in briefly again around 10 pm. The crowd was standing-room only (but they had not opened up the space to the right). About 60% female. There were actually dancers onstage and in my first 3 minutes someone solicited me for a dance. I didn't stay long...too crowded for comfort. This no doubt explains the new website which I would like to believe is a harbinger of a renascence for what used to be my favorite club.
  13. If you are flying Air Canada you can make your appt in advance through them. They have a discount code for homedoctors (AC30) that reduces the cost to CAD$39. It's quite possible the code will work even if you're not going through the AC web site.
  14. More and more of the guys I find interesting do not list a phone number on rentmen. The only option for contacting them appears to be the "chat with escort" function (I am not a RM member and don't want to be). It appears that to use it, you need to supply an email address, which sets off alarm bells for me (though I do have a semi-burner email address I could use). I'd appreciate feedback from those of you who have used it. In particular, will I be subjected forever thereafter to emails/messages from RM? do escorts actually reply? and do such replies ultimately result in a phone number (I prefer to talk before I hire someone new)? Anything else you want to add is welcome. Thanks!
  15. For many years I stayed in top-level downtown hotels, getting excellent rates by bidding on priceline. I liked the ambiance and it was a very short hop on the metro to the Village. If I stayed out too late, taxis were relatively cheap if I didn't feel like walking. More recently I've been staying in airbnb's, mostly in the Village. Hotels have become quite expensive and I get more, and more attractive, space in an airbnb. I find that the metro works both ways and I can easily get out of the Village to the other parts of the city that I love. Bottom line, as already posted multiple times, is that public transportation is quick and efficient and will get you where you want to go with minimum fuss.
  16. How did you text him? His profile says no phone number is available.
  17. Or perhaps keep a name change history that is accessible...like under the name, a clickable "name history".
  18. Adding to the above.... I've found that respectful trial and error is the only sure way of finding out the limits. Dancers vary enormously in what they will permit and do, even from day to day. At one extreme are those who will refuse even to undress until you've committed to a certain number of songs. At the other? A few years ago, there was a dancer at Campus who was notorious for getting fucked in the back rooms. (I never verified this personally, but 10-15 years ago I did have a dancer take out my dick, start playing with it, and then -- before I realized where this was going -- sit himself down on it.) Asking a dancer ahead of time what he will do? They often don't know themselves at that point. They might even <gasp> stretch the truth to entice you into spending on them. Asking other clients? If it's someone you know and trust and who trusts you, that might work, but just because a dancer let client A blow him doesn't mean he's going to do the same for you. And experienced clients will often feel protective of dancers who allow them liberties, to avoid difficulties with management.
  19. Is it possible (reasonable?) to put a logout button at the bottom of the page, or at the bottom of the page that shows up after "marking forums read?" More detail: After reading unread content from my previous visits and reaching the "no more unread content" advisory, I click "mark content read." After confirming that's what I want to do, I'd like to logout...but that requires me to navigate to the top of the page. It would be oh so convenient if that logout option were offered at the bottom of the page after my confirmation.
  20. Not to mention implying much in a phone conversation and delivering little.
  21. Which leads me to inquire: is there a way to implement "unread content" with an option to exclude certain forums (e.g. Public Images or Pornography)? I always start by clicking "unread content" to see what's new since my last visit; as Charlie said, with images included this now makes for a very long list of threads.
  22. Without weighing in on the pros and cons of the original suggestion, I'd like to point out that it takes the same "seconds" for the original poster to use Translate to post in English and/or to provide an English translation of the original quote...which switches the translation burden away from the moderators.
  23. Forget about wokeness/discrimination/.... The terms masculine/feminine (or for that matter, chatty/not chatty) have too wide a range of connotations to be useful in a review site. Some things are best left to private messages.
  24. This is not a thread I've been following, but Jamie's thoughtful response caught my eye. The above words exactly describe me (way back when I was really new at this). When I finally took the plunge, I had the misfortune of hiring someone (well reviewed here, by the way*) who did not have Jamie's empathic qualities, and that encounter almost put me off hiring ever again. *I later discovered that, despite all his good reviews, there was a sizeable group of clients who found him as off-putting as I did -- but had never reviewed him here.
