I always wonder about statements like this. How do you know? Who did the counting? Are those many publications in well-regarded peer-reviewed journals?... Edit: just saw the much more detailed post by @SirBIllybob making this point.

The most common "overcharging" situation for me involves a discrepancy of one song. I let these go, especially since I'm often not 100% certain myself of the count. Variation of this scenario: neither the dancer nor I is sure of the count. Of course this means we've both been very distracted and are, therefore, in a good mood and have no trouble negotiating a fee. A few times, I have realized later that I left the booth without paying and without being reminded and a very embarrassed me seeks out the dancer to rectify the error. I've only had 2 more serious incidents in 17 years, those involving a dancer grossly inflating the count -- the sort where I knew it had been 4 or 5 songs and the dancer claimed 9 or 10. In both I stood my ground and suggested calling the manager. In one case the dancer immediately offered a "compromise" and in the other, the manager backed me up. I'm sure it helped that I am not an unknown quantity to the managers and bartenders. When I first started going to Montreal, I worried a lot about this (mostly because of stories I read here on the MC). But I'd guess that such disagreements have occurred less than 2% of the time.

That additional information is relevant. Escorts are humans, after all, and their conversation isn't always business-related when they meet someone interesting. Still, there's more to lose by being over-eager and annoying. After you've seen him a few times, the level of friendship he's comfortable with (if any) ought to be clear.

It's possible we were actually in that second floor flat and I misinterpreted something he said as meaning someone else was sharing the space. When I dealt with a similar situation, I was denied because the reason for the decrease in income was not on their (quite limited) list of reasons...to be clear (for those who have yet to deal with this), you can request an IRMAA decrease only if your income will decline (or has declined, since they work with a 2-year lag) for a reason on their list.
