Thanks, mike. I use the "new posts" option (and mark everything read before each log out) because reading down each forum from the earliest unread item still leaves me to figure out how far to go to be sure I haven't missed anything new. I asked about sorting the new posts list by forum because, when I'm in a hurry, I'd like to skip all the "Gallery" posts and leave them for later. I have noticed the 10 page limit on the new posts list. I had always hoped -- with no evidence -- that when there were many unread threads the page length expanded to accommodate them.

Sometimes a dancer (the right dancer ) -- upon seeing that those booths are occupied -- will suggest we wait until one of them is free.
-
Not sure what you meant. I tried clicking "new posts" and then going to the individual forums, but that gave me all posts in that forum, not just the ones I hadn't yet read, which is what I want.
-
When I log in and click on "new posts", they come up in reverse order of date posted (i.e. most recent first). Is there some way to have them sorted by forum instead? Ideally this would be something I could set once and for all, but even doing it each time I log in would be OK.

For sure!

I've heard that explanation too, but without the statement that the police required it. And this doesn't really jive with the fact that Stock has closed curtains and there's nothing different about what happens there. Hence my question.

As a long-time Montreal afficionado, I've been enjoying your posts, @@SirBIllybob and @@JR-Mtl. I'm wondering if either of you can shed light on the curtains/no-curtains drama at Campus. I'm sure you'll recall that (all too brief) interlude when Campus had curtain-closed lap dance booths. I have inquiried (from dancers, from Gary, from other staff) why the curtains were taken down, but never heard an answer that made any sense -- especially since Stock's curtains remained. Any insights?

Not just Campus. I know someone who scores all his drugs from dancers at Stock...and has been for many years. And there was often a reek of weed from the dancers smoking outside Taboo well before the current legalization (although I don't know whether selling went on in Taboo).

The August Fugues had a long article about Campus (Gary's 50th birthday IIRC) which described the club as a hangout place for locals. That's certainly been my experience over the years -- people come in to drink, relax, watch whatever boys are there, and talk with their friends (who often include the management and bartenders). Sometimes when I've been talking to a dancer for a while and am not yet ready to do a private, I will point to a group of people sitting at a table and suggest he try to make some money over there (before coming back to me). I'll often get the response "they just come in to drink; they never do dances." Evidently some dancers do well enough to make it worthwhile. A 25-year old whom I've gotten to know told me that he saved enough in 4 years of dancing to buy a house in his home town about an hour about outside of Montreal.

I just posted something about this in the Taboo thread before seeing this one.

I suspect Karl was talking about afternoons at Campus rather than nights. I have certainly had the same (afternoon) experience on some visits, but a couple of weeks ago, Campus was fine most weekday afternoons. There was a little dead time on stage, but also quite a few dancers (Kane, James, Brandon, Chris formerly Giovanni, Carmelo, ....) who more than met my criteria. Frequent Montreal visitors know that this can vary night by night, week by week, and year by year. Not so long ago that Taboo was often dead. The ups and downs of l'Adonis are another example.
-
Along the same lines: how did you come up with your monicker on this forum (if it's not your real name?). I think mine is obvious (old-timers here might recall that, after a particularly detailed post about Montreal ten years ago or so, Lucky -- remember him? -- opined that it was time for me to change it).
-
If tedfit is still advertising in Montreal, avoid him!

Just back from a great time in Montreal. Walking down to Taboo, I passed the site of L’Adonis/J.P.’s/Lux. It has a new signboard EXPOSE danseurs nus 7/7 and a sign on the door opening soon.

Any new dudes at Campus or Stockbar?

It's refreshing to see Montreal through the eyes of an enthusiastic first-time visitor! Thank you! -
Lack of chemistry (or at least a high percentage chance of lack of chemistry) can often be picked up in a phone conversation.

He performed in Chicago last year -- I found him musically amazing. And amazingly attractive as well. Jump at the chance to see him if he comes your way. Youtube doesn't do justice to his talents.

Last time I was there (going on 9 months ago), there was a (pay) city parking lot within easy walking distance. You can pay with an app or at an on-site kiosk IIRC.

Things You Learn About Yourself Through This Hobby
+ newatthis replied to + RyanDean's topic in The Lounge
All of us have different reactions to various erotic experiences. We learn with experience what's important or crucial, what's "meh," and what kills our libidos. For me what's tricky is that those reactions are not necessarily stable; they can very much depend on the moment and/or the partner. I've had to learn (or maybe still am learning) how to read myself in the moment AND how to be open to new experiences. -
FWIW, I see many ads from masseurs offering a 30-minute rate.

I have been using airbnb in Montreal for 2 years now with no problems. Ditto for friends of mine. Within the restricted zone referenced above. This is not meant to contradict any of the information from @SirBIllybob above; just another data point for your consideration. My experiences have been uniformly excellent -- I've lucked into very good hosts.

He also escorts. There is (or was -- haven't checked lately) an ad on Rentmen.
-
Yup. Thought it was great and have been recommending it to others. Can't say the same about its companion series "Banana" however. It's available on Amazon Prime.
-
Too lazy to double check, but I'm pretty sure "All male, all nude" is available on Amazon Prime.

Doctor friends of mine say "a good doctor will know the other good doctors."
