It’s basically impossible to book first awards on Singapore Airlines. I’ve tried for years and never seen anything other than their ridiculous "waitlist" option. Spoiler alert, the "waitlist" only clears about 20% of the time and it’s usually just 1 month before travel. If you’re wildly flexible with your travel plans, I guess it could work out…maybe? Just don’t get your hopes up.

I haven’t heard of any major complications from the new Monkeypox vaccine (JYNNEOS) and we’ve vaccinated a shit-ton of people in a relatively shot time period. If there were major problems, I think we would have seen them by now. I’m not saying there haven’t been any, and given the fact that you’re injecting a live (albeit "replication deficient") virus into people there are bound to be occasional problems. But without real data it’s hard to say wether 23 cases a day is low enough so that the risks outweigh the benefits or not. What is clear is that there is still community person-to-person transmission occurring and I’d recommend any sexually actively gay male get the vaccine. Otherwise, I fear we risk a resurgence. Not to mention what happens if the virus spreads beyond the relatively small percentage of the population that are sexually active gay men. The older vaccine (which is live, "replication competent" and currently not being used) is another story. In that scenario, I would be more likely to recommend against vaccination. Unless of course the case rate started rising and/or you’re a complete whore.
