I used to buy some furniture online. My experience was 50/50. Initially, proper "scale" was my biggest problem. Once I learned to carefully look at the measurements and to get out my measuring tape and "visualize" the piece in the space I planned on using it in, I had much fewer "scale" problems. Next problem is "quality". Now I only buy items online with tons of glowing reviews. It's cut down on my "accidentally buying pieces of crap"...by 99%. As little as 2-3 people saying the item is junk.... is usually enough to deter me these days. Third is color. This one is hard. I agree that samples help, but they're not foolproof. Especially when it comes to patterns. What looks great on a 4''X 4'' swath....can look horrendous on a giant couch. Once I ordered 3 dressers that were different shapes but in the same exact style from the same retailer. All 3 arrived with the handles stained very different shades of tan. They looked idiotic next to one another. Finally, don't buy large "big ticket" items online. It's too much of a risk. It's like doing an overnight before doing a few hourly hires. You are just asking for trouble. Even shopping at brick and mortar stores can be tricky. The showroom is not my living room. It does however cut down on many of the above issues....and often it's not that much more expensive. All my large furniture items that I "love"....have been bought in real stores. These days I pretty much stick to real stores for shopping and occasionally pick up disposable accent pieces online.

Can I triple "like" a post? Such a well thought out, caring, and professional post. When it come to being "out" at work...it's tricky. I believe we owe it to ourselves and the next generation not to hide who we are. At the same time, my sexual preference has little impact on my ability to do my job. It should be ZERO impact...but we are humans at the end of the day. Everyone at work knows I'm gay. It's not a secret and I treat it as a non-issue. I don't paste Pride flags all over my work space...but the NRA gun toting right wing nut next to me .... doesn't post his crap on the walls either. We are co-workers, who respect each other. If it were any other way...I'd find another place to work. I don't go to work to make friends. I go to work to get my job done (which I love) and to make money (which allows me to do other things that I love). Discrimination can be subtle and pervasive, but you can also start tilting at windmills. Careers have ups, downs, and many unforeseen turns. Don't let a bump in the road...send you into a tailspin.

I’d say around year five....I’d start thinking about it. But only if the house had a “his”and “my” wing. I’m a hermit at heart....and no matter how much I love you....I need my space. Having said that....when I was a child in my 20’s...I once moved in on the first date and didn’t leave for 3 1/2 years. So who knows?

Not sure why “on-strip” deter would anyone. Vegas is a small town. On-strip...off-strip....is only a matter of 3-4 blocks at best. I’d also bet that most men in Vegas are visiting and would rather host than travel....but I’ll leave that to the experts who get hired in Vegas to answer.

Sounds like a mildly crappy place to work....that is...it sounds like most jobs. My own two cents is that you don't have anything that even remotely resembles a case. Asking for 3x your annual salary for percieved minor slights while employed.... that didn't bother you enough at the time to file complaints with HR....or to quit.... will only get you laughed at. You didn't build a case while you were employed....and it's impossible to build one now. Use your time and energy productively...stop eating sour grapes....and move on! Look for a new job, a new life, volunteering, get a hobby....anything. You're running down a dead end street based on your hurt feelings because you were fired. Don't waste your time and don't give them the satisfaction of watching you make a fool of yourself.

My end game?...my "end game"...is the door hitting him in the ass on his way out empty handed. It's a two way street. I have no problem with a provider having a "payment up front" policy. I personally would never agree to it and would never meet someone who had such a requirement. Nonetheless, I support the right of any business man to conduct his business any way he chooses.
