  1. And I never understood why you never came to NYC and flipped..... Hey, a boy can dream can’t he?
  2. There are no atheists in foxholes Done. My prayers are with you as well PK. “May whatever gods there be, guide your heart, hands, and mind during these difficult times”. And on a more personal level...Thank you for your service.
  3. No doubt. Reading other people’s unvarnished, and often ill informed options about one’s self can be hurtful. But remember they are just that...opinions. Mostly because of your responses. Not because of the initial debate. You need to try and understand that and learn from it. One short post explaining yourself and the logic behind your RM ad would have done that nicely. The rest?....is like a child playing with a loaded gun. It’s very dangerous....especially to your “ brand”.
  4. Breathe baby. B-R-E-A-T-H-E. ...and use paragraphs. You got that right. You‘re going to need to learn how to not overreact when you feel attacked in Med School. And you will be attacked. Daily. Trust me. We got it. We got it. We read your “brilliant“ breathless defense. Now relax. This thread certainly proves that.... We know....you’re a pharmacists. Or going to be a pharmacist. Maybe even a physician? Well, you‘ve certainly proven that point. Now, a little fatherly advice..... I admire your spirit. You obviously worked hard to put ourself through PharmD School. Congratulations. I also admire your desire to defend yourself. Just calm down a little. People stop reading after your 4th or 5th defense. State your case in one collected, brief, well edited and paragraphed post. Then move on. When you overreact, people will start poking the bear for their own amusement. See the earlier section of my post and most of this thread for proof. Don’t give them that. As for your “science”, it‘s way too early to know much of anything about this virus. And lets be honest, you’re a soon to be pharmacist, not a virologist, and certainly not a physician (despite what your previous RM ad with a stethoscope implied). Still, I agree once you’ve had it you’re most likely immune for a period of time. Then again, early in this pandemic I though asymptomatic spread was unlikely. I was wrong. I may be wrong again. You may be well educated but Science is a bitch of a lover. You’re clinging to science for your defense, and I understand that. But I think what got more people riled up was your attitude. To some you came off as a medical professional who was flippant about a pandemic that may kill millions. That‘s not a pretty look. And it has nothing to do with ‘science’ and everything to do with public perception and public relations. Work less on winning the scientific battle (which no one can win at this point because too little is really known), and focus on winning the PR battle. You‘ll have much more success and alienate far fewer potential clients.
  5. “RuggedBro”.....and “Bridgeport”....in the same sentence? I cant stop laughing!
  6. I doubt it. I know quiet a few people who had “flu like symptoms” in Dec and Jan with negative flu tests. In retrospect, they all thought they had early cases of undiagnosed COVID infections. Everyone of them tested COVID IgG antibody negative this week (i.e. no past COVID infections). Wishful thinking is dangerous medicine.
  7. RIP Sweet Bird of Youth...... Heavenly Finley : No one in love is free. Or even wants to be.
  8. Ze plane! Ze plane!
  9. You dirty dirty social distancing dishwashing SLUT! grin
  10. I would argue that complete isolation is nearly, if not more so, deadly that the virus itself. Then again, suicide isn’t infectious, so maybe there’s a counter argument to be made. I have mainatianed social interactions with one outside family. They come over for dinner and vice versa. Their only exposure is my house and my only exposure is them. Is there a risk? Yes. Life has risks. In this case it’s one I'm willing to take for my own personal sanity. Normally, I would be entertaining 3-4 times a week with various people. To me it’s about “risk reduction”, not some insane absolute. I also fucked men with a condom in the 80’s when I could have abstained completely. Call me a reckless rebel if you wish.
  11. Complete with over the top camp video.....
  12. Do we even have a surgeon general anymore? Where is C. Everett Koop when you need him?
  13. That’s not gonna end well.......
  14. They’re so cute when they grow up! Welcome to adult life Killian. For the record, it looks great on you.
  15. I never drink alone. So for me it’s less.....much less.
  16. To paraphrase someone else in this thread..... The "ideal" time....is when rent is due. ....or better yet when rent is PAST due.
  17. If he bottomed, I might risk a pandemic. As a top? Yeah....I’m waiting for a vaccine.
  18. Trust me....it’s not worth the effort.
  19. One wonders why an ENT (ear-NOSE-throat) doctor wouldn’t come to the hospital to see a thrombocytopenic patient with a NOSE bleed...but I digress. PK I’m impressed that you know how to pack an anterior nose bleed. If you tell me you know how to pack a posterior one....I may be in love! Next time try Afrin nasal spray followed by intranasal tranexamic acid. https://www.jwatch.org/na45649/2017/12/08/tranexamic-acid-more-effective-nasal-packing-treatment I never thought ice packs did anything but make a mess. Glad it worked.
  20. Just finished Every Grain of Sand. I enjoyed it and I learned a lot about addiction, relapses, and recovery. Although I’ve never met David, it seems very true to his spirit. I LOVE In Cold Blood....thanks for reminding me. I need to re-read it. An Exhaltation of Larks by James Lipton.
  21. Best answer so far. I was going to say after 2 months with zero transmissions in NYC, but I like your nerdy answer better.
  22. PK thank you for your painfully beautiful posts. You are helping all of us cope with this unmitigated disaster. Today I dared to hope as our local numbers seemed to “bend” ever so slightly. Not enough to be a trend and it’s far from over, but maybe, just maybe, we’re not still in the horrifying free fall stage. As one of my trusted mentors said when this started, “don’t worry about how insane you sound today, in this coming catastrophe you will be seen as a prophet within 2 days“. Unfortunatelay, he has been right over and over during the last 4 weeks. Today it took 3-4 days for my doomsday prophecies to come true....still crazy.....but progress. Today one came off the vent and one went home. Small victories, and I try not to think about the many who are not so lucky. Yes, luck is a major factor. I sang through my N95 to the one who went home as he walked out the door. I’m sure he thought I was nuts. I didn’t care. I’ll take any win I can get at this point. What you do matters. The world is weighing heavy on your shoulders right now. Although I’ve never met you, I know you have the training, the strength, and the resilience to see this through. And when this is over, the first lap dance is on me, even if I have to come to NJ in full PPE and do it myself. Lets be honest, I’ve worn worse on the PATH train...grin
  23. Go beat off. Afterwards, you will instantly realize how stupid your idea sounds. Trust me.
  24. You realize this whole Covid hoax is really just a ploy by us tops to get more of you to sleep ass up, right? ”It helps you breath better.....I promise. Come on, just try it.” grin
  25. Don't cry for me Argentina. There are plenty of shifts available in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care. Come on down!
