Where’s the option for "yes"? While I don’t love the idea, I realize that at a certain point it’s a reality. Watching older people cling to their imagined "independence" of living at home alone is a sad, sad, joke. They end up being a huge burden to everyone one around them and to distant great nieces who barley know them as well. I had to shop around for my mother not too long ago. One place was so nice that I seriously wanted to move in (too young). It was 100 times nicer than any place my mother had ever lived. She thankfully had enough resources to live there for decades. She lasted less than 3 days and miraculously got her "bed bound" ass back to her house 45 miles away without me finding out. She also fired her "24/7 at home help" that she had used to hoodwink the care center, in less than 8 hours. The results were predictable but those were her wishes. So be it. I often think people who can afford care and refuse it, are selfish assholes or just plain stupid.

Chalk it up to experience. You’re not going to bat a 1000 in this game….hell, you’ll be lucky to break 300. Just read their reviews and look for guys that sound like people you’d like to meet. Also, over time you’ll learn which reviewers like the same types of guys that you like. Again, there’s no guarantees but a positive review from one of them is golden and as good as it gets.

Yes and no. You can’t discount the fact that it is 4 decades later. Our understanding of DNA/RNA and our ability to manipulate it is light years away from where it was in 1981. Research that used to take months and months can now be automated and completed in less than 45 minutes. There is truth in your statement, but it’s not the whole truth. Not really. mRNA vaccine technology has existed for well over a decade. It is still fundamentally just a vaccine that presents foreign proteins like any other vaccine. It was just thought to be too expensive to use for mass vaccination of diseases where we already had traditional (much cheaper and easier to use) vaccines available. My point is HIV researches have had access to mRNA vaccine technology for a long time, it hasn’t helped. I think the HIV (and sickle cell, and Huntington’s disease, and Herpes, etc) game changer will be CRISPR technology, not mRNA. Unfortunately, I think it will also end the human race….but that’s another story.
