Me neither. I’ve never felt what it’s like to truly be in love with someone intimately. I’ve had many sexual encounters, but never any romantic relationships. For a while I thought I was aromantic, (not to be confused with asexual). Just because I’m strictly into the physical act of having sex, and not the hand holding, cuddling, even kissing, and other acts of intimacy. I see a therapist to help work out these things. She doesn’t think I’m aromantic, but she thinks I have a sex addiction.

Agreed- I always hated the word “queer” in this context. I also don’t particularly care for the word “gay” even though I have used it to describe myself in the past.  The most accurate term for me is homosexual since it clearly defines that I am (solely) sexually attracted to other men, but doesn’t necessarily have an impact on any other aspect of my life.

caramelsub reacted to + Vegas_Millennial in Dear clients, would you rather hire a bisexual or gay provider?
Sexual orientation makes absolutely no difference to me.  I've had great and poor paid sexual experiences with all three orientations.  I do not sort or screen my providers by their orientation.
But like @APPLE1 says, we prefer honesty.  If you're lying and say "straight" or "bisexual" when you're really gay, just to try to drum up business, your clients will figure it out and not return.  You don't need a good memory or need to be a good actor if you don't lie.

Quite right. And the whole “absent father/clingy mother” thing is so 1952. The only thing that nurturing has to do with sexual identity (which isn’t binary but exists along a spectrum) is the degree to which one grows to accept, fear, reject, enjoy, deny or embrace it.

I don’t like the whole idea that there are reasons people are gay or become gay. It goes against the born this way philosophy in my opinion. If people think there are reasons for being or becoming gay, people might think there are ways to not become gay or ways to become straight. Which makes it seem like being gay is a lifestyle choice, which we all know it isn’t.

I always find the studies exploring "why" people are gay interesting to read, but then I am also left with a bit of internal conflict about wether we should really persevere to know the answer(s) to why.
I'm sure if we could scientifically prove that sucking a lollipop on the 37th day after conception made a fetus gay, there would be people who would persevere to eliminate lollipops from the plant.

A lot of people speculate this. But ironically my mother was very distant growing up, at least to me. My father was the more nurturing parent.

Besides some folks won't even admit to being gay.... how can gay men be counted?

I don’t believe there is any correlation. I’ve known too many gay men that are oldest, only children, have sisters, are twins, etc.

My father, too, was very present and very nuturing.  My mother was very controlling and narcissistic.  For years I didn't think I was gay solely because I was attracted men; but, rather, I thought it was because I was repelled by the idea of being with a woman such as my mother.  Yuck! 🤢

Also to leave a negative review, you must have had some communication with the provider on rentmen chat that is verifiable. I believe some providers turn off rentmen chat to limit the possibility for negative reviews.

Not in my case (gross). I have an older brother who is a hardcore Trunp supporter, retired Army Captain, and has children all over the world. I guess I just didn't want to be him. My two youngest brothers, one of them came out to me (only me) as bisexual. He says that he likes men, but he loves his wife and son with down syndrome more than venturing getting involved with men, but he talks to me about men he finds attractive and things alike, and I'm happy that he has me to feel safe talking about it.
I have heard of similar stories about gay men having older siblings, but I also know many gay men who are only-child in the family, or who are the oldest in the family.
Personally, it's good to research and study, but I don't need any scientific explanation for me baing gay. I am, and I love it.

caramelsub reacted to Luv2play in When does one bring up special requests or fetishes?
If a provider appears prudish during conversations in whatever media I use to contact them, that ends the discussions right there. If I wanted a date with a prude, I would go to a church social. Not that I have anything against the latter, which I can enjoy on its own terms ( for instance the food offered is usually quite good).
