  1. 😆 Quite true, California often feels like it's outside of the US
  2. Thanks, I was just trying to determine the country. Thank you for letting me know it's a country other than the US that includes Ontario. I will assume that it is Canada.
  3. The Northeast and Midwest of which country? I can assume it's one that uses Centigrade
  4. When trying to describe Canada to my US friends, I often say it's like the US from 10 years ago except with more French (and I've been saying this since my first trip to Vancouver almost 15 years ago). When they come back from their first trip to Canada, they tell me they see what I mean. Then, I saw this on "How I Met Your Mother" and it makes sense: As for Puerto Vallarta Mexico, it's like visiting southern California from 20 years ago except with more English.
  5. To phrase this in another way: To help keep honest people honest, lock and put away everything in your room/bathroom/car/wallet.
  6. To update y'all on my stay in Ft Lauderdale from January 2025: I split my stay between the Grand (formerly Worthington) and Solstice at Wilton. I only stayed at the Grand because I scored a mid-week reduced rate before they started adding resort fees and parking fees. Their prices on the weekends are out of my budget. The hotel is physically the same as it was when it was the Worthington, but it is now connected to the Grand. The noticeable difference was that the hotel was less than half occupied during high season. The previous owners kept the prices lower so they were always 100% booked with a waiting list during high season. The appealing factor of the previous Grand/Worthington to me was the ability to mingle nude with a hundred other guests in the pools and hot tubs. My January 2025 visit, however, was like visiting a ghost town. For that reason and for the price and for its distance from the Drive, I will only choose to stay at Solstice at Wilton or another clothing optional hotel near Wilton Drive. My 2nd choices would be to stay at Big Coconut Guest House. I've stayed at the Cabanas once about a decade ago. It was nice, but for my budget and solo travel style I want something more affordable and closer to the Drive.
  7. I have stayed at both the Cabanas and the Grand Resort (now combined with the former Worthington). Neither of those are a Men's Strip Club, so I won't discuss them here lest we get off topic from the forum's subject. You'll see discussions of these gay hotels in the Travel Desk section of Company of Men. From The Travel Desk section:
  8. East Village Thanks, at first I thought from this comment that the Nowhere Bar had turned Lesbian! (I am not a New Yorker, so the LES acronym was lost on me).
  9. @Jamie21How much snow does London see? Personally, I have never lived anywhere with snow (Las Vegas is the coldest place I've lived so far). But I would imagine on a snowy day I would want to hire in and avoid Grindr.
  10. Here's some hiring observations related to snowy weather:
  11. I have a similar policy but with one difference. First time escorts get paid at the end. It's an anti-theft measure. Regular escorts can get paid up front, because they have more trust with the client.
  12. I very much enjoyed Macho Mondays at Nowhere Bar last year.
  13. The Search 🔎 function in this forum will lead you to these helpful threads:
  14. When I visited Stag last night as a patron, I agree that the women "woohoo'd" the loudest when the men climbed high on the pole. They (the women) still didn't tip much. As a gay man, I made it a point to tip every dancer at Silverado that went fully nude even if he was not my type, just to thank him for going fully nude. No guy went fully nude at my night at Stag, so I left with a lot of money in my wallet then went back to Silverado to spend it.
  15. Don't we all! I find that at almost all clothing optional men hotels, about 80% of the clientele is over 40, with a median age of about 55. The young bucks don't have the money spend on these types of boutique places, and/or they are so shy about nudity that they avoid these places altogether.
  16. The hood and ghetto can have any race of poor people with no class. It's the 21st century after all, even the hood is integrated. I avoid Pride events because they are mostly overrun by straight women (aka well meaning but annoying heterosexuals). But if I was in NYC for June, I would mostly go to the Townhouse bar. It seems to be the type of upscale place to keep crowd and behavior under control, even during crowded pride events. My second choice place would be Uncle Charlie's. I would save my visits to the other NYC bars until July.
  17. His profile says "safe only". What size Ziplock do I need to bring to the meeting?
  18. Unfortunately, Stag is overrun with woman. I've never had so many breasts rub up against me in an hour. My ear drums hurt every few minutes when one of them cackles. And God forbid the screaching sounds they make when a new male dancer debuts. But ... Women don't tip like men. So take my advice and do what I do... Push (nudge) those women to the side and go right up to the dancer and stuff some bills in his jock. Thankfully, the dancers at Stag were gay enough (or business savvy enough) to then pay more attention to me than to the women. The screeching stopped and I had a wonderful time with the dancers. 😊
  19. That's more action than I've ever seen at B-Mine during high season. I wish it the best of success
  20. I spent 3 nights Silverado. There were at least a dozen dancers each night, with more than half of them my type. Some of them even had no tattoos. About 1/2 of the dancers got fully nude in the public dance area. I had private dances with at least 1/2 of them (one at a time). The private dances were a fantastic bargain even at $25. There is no house fee for private dances, and the dances are much longer than at other establishments and none of the dancers haggled prices with me. From time to time the were females in the audience, but they never spoke loud and always gave their money to a male friend to do the tipping. This is a well run gay establishment. The fish and chips were just ok.
  21. I'm back in Portland for 2025, and the improvement in safety continues. I saw a grand total of 2 tents my entire weekend here. Uniformed police were riding about half of the MAX light rail trains. Much less frequent pot smell in the air. It's so much better than at the peak of it's 2020 lawlessness
