If you can pay cash and not even notice the change in your investments (example, less than 10%) then buy it! If it would cause you financial stress in the event it is damaged or stolen, then don't buy it. Just like you shouldn't have a 5-year payment plan to finance a weekend vacation or a fancy dinner out, don't finance this toy. Pay cash and enjoy it. If you can't pay cash, you won't be enjoying it very long before regret sets in

I have a Costco credit card, which has its own extra warranty on any appliance I purchase with it, from any store. I had a dishwasher needing some repairs less than 3 years after it was installed. Costco credit card reimbursed me the full cost of the plumber I chose. Other than that, when an appliance reaches the end of its useful life, I just buy a new one. No home warranty.

My favorite gay hotel in Ft Lauderdale is the Worthington. It's very clean and comfortable, even if it's not "luxury". Friendly guys and 3 pools and 2 hot tubs and to the vacation experience, as the Worthington has more rooms than the other gay clothing optional hotels in Ft Lauderdale. If you want upscale clothing optional close to the gay nightlife, Ed Lugo Resort can't be beat. Large, luxurious suites converted from former single family homes. The fewer than 10 rooms share a large salt water pool that is clothing optional. Literally a half block away from Johnson's, Alibi, the Pub, which is the center of gay nightlife in Wilton Manors (city just north of Ft Lauderdale)

This is good advice. @Daniel84 , consider telling clients after they book with you that your apartment is on the 4th floor with no elevator, so they can arrive early if needed. As a NYC tourist three years ago, I did not realize a massuer I hired was on the 5th floor with no elevator until I arrived at the building. Had he told me when giving me his address, I would have planned to arrive a few minutes earlier to allow me extra time to leisurely climb the stairs. Instead, I nearly sprinted up the stairs in order to not be late, and arrived out of breath.

Customer's back is to the wall, facing the audience. There are curtains to right and left of customer, which block views from others getting a lap dance. There are no curtains in front of customer right now, but the dancer in your lap would obstruct your view of an audience anyway. So someone looking in from the audience would really only see the dancer, not the customer sitting down. Plus, there are booths in the front of the curtains which further restrict any on-looker's view.

Last week I was at Johnson's, LeBoy, and Boardwalk. The dancers at Johnson's obeyed all the mask rules and Kelly the curtain behind them open during a lap dance. I still had a fantastic time on multiple nights. Patrons, on the other hand, had to be frequently reminded to keep their masks on. If you visit mid-week it is possible to maintain 6ft separation from everybody. But on Fridays and Saturdays, forget about it. It's almost as crowded inside as pre-Covid.

I love the Worthington. It's my favorite gay hotel. Because of its larger size and multiple pools and spas, there is always the opportunity to meet new friends. I just got back from a stay at the Worthington last week. Even though the resort was less than half occupied during my stay, I still had a fun time.

Hotels do the same thing. It costs twice as much per person to rent a hotel room for 1 than it does for 2 people. For the cruise, you get screwed paying for food and entertainment for 2 as well. That's why a small number of cruise lines charge solo travelers only 175% instead of 200% of the per person charge for a room, so you're not paying for food for 2 but you're still paying for the entire stateroom. Even if a solo traveler pays 200% of the per person cost for the room based on double occupancy, they don't have to pay taxes for the 2nd person, and sometimes don't have to pay gratuity for the 2nd person

When I rent a room, I allow "the occasional overnight guest, who must leave the house when you do". Not the same, but I had roommates who would have their bf/gf over for most of the nights in a month. When that happens, I had to tell them that if they had overnight guests more than 3 days a week, I would need to charge them double or they need to find a new place. In your situation, since you're not charging anything, you could say "hey, this situation is not working for me. 1 or 2 visitors a week is fine, but any more than that and you'll need to find your own place" (for example)

That sounds like fun. I have similar ideas running through my head for when I retire earlier than conventional. But first, meet with someone in the business (maybe the owner of your favorite gay bar in a different city) to ask lots of questions and listen for advice. Maybe start by working as a bartender then manager of another gay bar in your city to learn the industry and see what works and what doesn't without risking your own money. When you do decide to open a bar, meet with your city councilman early and often. They may know of certain buildings in their district which the city may help subsidize renovations. You need to start dialogue with city councilman as soon as you're contemplating locations, because they may be adamantly against any bar or night club in a location that you think would be ideal. I'm the meantime, research the costs and requirements for liquor licenses in your city. If you find an empty building which already had a liquor license, check to see if ADA or fire sprinkler upgrades will be required by the city before you open. Sometimes, a new business is required to make those improvements if too much time has lapsed since the space was last used

If you're visiting a place like Palm Springs, Fort Lauderdale, or Puerto Vallarta, Google the gay clothing optional hotels. Even if you aren't into swimming naked yet, you'll meet some great guys who can tell you about local places to eat and explore while you float in the pool during the day

I travel solo, for fun, almost every month of the year. For big cities within the US, I search Google Maps for the locations of gay bars and things that interest me (museums, etc.), and try to book a hotel near those things and on a mass transit route (subway or light rail). I try to have an idea of one attraction I would like to do each day, and one gay bar to visit each night. By the 2nd night into each trip, I've usually met someone at the bar who gives me good advice on things to check out that only the locals know. I have really enjoyed cruises as way to see multiple destinations in a short period of time, then decide which places I would come back to visit again. I found that booking through a Gay travel group such as Adventure bears or Pied Piper Travel, allows me a guarantee that there will be at least 30-100 other gay guys on the ship to meet and have dinner with. Traveling solo on a straight cruise is the pits, but I've enjoyed traveling solo on an all-gay cruise or with a gay group on a straight cruise.

About 6 years ago I was staying in a motel near Disneyland in California. My friends and I were using the hot tub late at night (2am) after a day at the theme park. My friends went to bed, but I had to go to the front desk for something (I think I forgot my room key). Anyways, the front desk clerk anticipated my request, saying he saw me on the security cameras walking to him with my wet hairy chest. I headed back to my room then made one more trip to the front desk to return the extra key or something (which I didn't need to do), making sure to look at the security camera while grabbing my bulge in the way to his office. We ended up fucking in the "computer room" near the lobby, the only place he said had no cameras but he could still watch the front desk as I had him bent over.

Last night Boardwalk's VIP was $30 per session or $60 for "all night" given to the house. There were only 3 dancers in the place on a Monday at 11pm. The dancer I took back to the VIP area was friendly enough, but I enjoyed the VIP booths at Johnson's much more, even with the new open curtain policy.
