  1. I had a hire once tell me I didn't have to tip him when I did. I jokingly asked if he would rather me take the money back. ? Normally I never tip except occasionally I'll bring a sweet treat after asking if the guy has any food restrictions, but I booked an hour with him and we spent 4 together and he didn't ask for any additional funds.
  2. There has been a push towards ending cash transactions but so far there has been huge pushback in places that have tried to do it like Philadelphia. Because so many poor people are unbanked and cannot get credit cards, it basically shuts them out of the economy. Even if they could get loadable debit cards, the fees are sometimes so high it's basically legalized usury. It's tough enough to be poor but a cashless society would make it near impossible for them to live or get a foot on the ladder.
  3. This would likely raise even more red flags than a one time deposit of over 10k. The most recent high profile person to end up in prison because of an unusual number of bank transactions over time was Dennis Hastert.
  4. It is completely inappropriate for anyone to complain to a customer or to their manager about a tip no matter how awful the tip is. I was recently in a nail salon (I'm a regular there) where one of the workers, in full view of everyone, after receiving a tip loudly announced that 15% is her required tip. I felt embarrassed to be there after that. Never happened before while I was there.
  5. I have three things I never take off my wrists. Two of those silicone bracelets (right) and a necessary bracelet (left). I try not to take my watch off if except when it will get wet, but sometimes I do. It doesn't help that whether it's on or off, I keep turning my wrist to check the time.
  6. One of mine is B&W game shows from the 50s and 60s like What's My Line, To Tell the Truth and the original The Price is Right.
  7. Considering the census is not allowed to share personal data with any other government agency (not saying they don't, but they aren't legally allowed to), people shouldn't use that as an excuse. Tax records also cannot be disclosed outside of the IRS without a court order. Birth records say nothing about where someone currently lives and with whom they live. As for people being afraid, I get it, but that only enables the people trying to manipulate the system. The people who are hurt by an undercount aren't the rich and powerful. But sure be spiteful and vindictive, that always works out well.
  8. People need to know that the census hasn't asked about legality ever. Also, the point of the census is count the number of persons in the US. Everything from representation to government funding is derived from the count. Studies show a 1% undercount can cost a state upwards of 6 billion dollars in funding. Please get everyone to accurately fill out their census forms.
  9. If the e-gates are where you stand behind a sliding glass door and scan your passport, I used those.
  10. That's probably it. Lol
  11. I flew first class to Heathrow on Virgin Atlantic. Got a card for going through customs but I didn't know how to use it and just went with the masses. What did I do wrong? I didn't have any issues though.
  12. When alone, always. With someone else, it depends. I have an addiction to checking what time it is and I feel naked without my watch. I can't count how many times I turn my wrist even when my watch is off.
  13. Which is why I stated that in my first sentence. The only reason I made the comment was the thread had shifted to a discussion relevant to my particular point.
  14. Actually, and this doesn't apply to self-employed people, the lack of discussing incomes among employees is one the ways employers maintain control over their employees and keep them from receiving fair compensation. It's one of the ways they keep the wage gap going between men and women, whites and minorities, etc. Almost every unionized workforce knows the exact salary structure at work and employees regularly talk about wages. This provides them ammo in contract negotiations. People should remove the stigma of discussing pay at least within a single company though I would say people in the same field but different companies should also talk about their pay and benefits.
  15. I have traveled to Canada via car, bus, plane and boat twice arriving between midnight and 1am and never had an issue or been at customs for more than a few minutes. Returning to the US is more of a nightmare especially when I drive over the boarder. The one time I thought I would have a problem getting into Canada was when I flew into Saskatoon during hunting season. We were the only people arriving without camo or a hunting rifle. I was sure we were going to be denied entry.
  16. Does he still offer massage services? I'd see him just for that and hope for more.
  17. Another good thing about Amex is the will update all your recurring payments to the new card for you. No need to go and change them yourself.
  18. From what I understand, that should be a huge money maker for providers.
  19. BFE, whatever that means to people, is what I want in a hire. Since I tend to be nervous meeting new people, I always tell a new person I hire about that. Usually I try to have us sit next to each other on a couch while we talk if one is available. As we talk, I start to touch him. Usually the guy realizes I'm getting more comfortable and things progress pretty quickly. An intuitive guy should be able to read signals and make moves based on that.
  20. Three days before I was to leave for Vegas, I was walking down some stairs at a concert. The last stair was higher than all the rest and my foot turned as I stepped on the ground. I was in considerable pain and had to use a cane to walk. I didn't go to the doctor until I got back. When I did go, the x-rays showed I fractured my foot. How I made it walking around Vegas for a week without reinjuring myself, I'll never know. Luckily the break was exactly six weeks before my trip to London, so the cast was off and my foot was healed for my trip.
  21. Clawback and cockblock are missing
  22. He definitely should have. My last hire was the first one that really let things go at my pace and was by far my best experience.
  23. Because some people like showing a particular brand of watch. I'm sad to say I get watch envy of people who can afford to buy the brands I can only window shop.
  24. That's very interesting. My first hire I told him I wanted to go slowly because I would be very nervous. As soon as we got into his hotel room, he went right for a deep kiss. It freaked me out. It still ended up going well, but those first 10 or so minutes were really awkward for me.
