  1. When I was tax accountant, I would send thank you emails if a client gave me their email address. All my clients would get a card in January again thanking them for coming in the prior year and telling them I was looking forward to seeing them again. I usually had a >90% retention rate. Must have been doing something right.
  2. Fat people are routinely discriminated against, absolutely. However, I cannot tell you the amount of times I have been shamed or worse for being an atheist. In fact, it can be so bad, I sometimes go "into the closet" and pretend to be a practicing Jew (I am Jewish by birth) and deal with the rare anti-semitism if it occurs.
  3. I wonder if they ever pulled anything like the old Abbot & Costello sketch of them in a diner with the twin waitresses.(sketch starts around 3 min mark)
  4. I collect three things though I only actively buy two of them. The ones I actively seek and purchase are decks of playing cards (virtually every type from vintage to modern) and game worn hockey sweaters of current and former members of the NY Islanders. I also collect Playbills but only the ones from shows I've seen so I don't really consider that purchasing them. I also have a large collection of Intellivision games and two consoles but they are from when I was a kid. I should start seeking out boxes and inserts to complete them.
  5. That's weird and it never happened at any table when I was at as a kid. I was in LA celebrating a freind's 21st birthday and was 20 at the time. A bunch of us went to dinner and I was the only one under age. When they ordered a couple of bottles for the table, the only person who was carded was the person ordering the wine. I happily broke the law in public that night.
  6. If that's true, it would never work with me. I have an obsession with checking my watch/clock multiple times an hour (a habit I developed as kid) so I always know the approx. time. I don't think I'd glance at the clock when I walk into the room, but I am sure I would see it at some point and know i it's off.
  7. I have a feeling they did it just for the first episode to get it out the way knowing viewers would want to see their take on it especially since they did a scene during the election. I will be disappointed if politics is a running theme because there are enough other shows out there that cover this stuff.
