I think that's presumptuous. If you're an escort who, because of your look or demographic, are booking multiple clients a day, overnights regularly, and getting flown to and fro that is a privilege, all else being equal, and maybe you're a little better off in this crisis. Other escorts may only get 3-4 clients a week and have seen even that dry up. Just assuming that every escort is doing well financially, and that if they're not it's because they've personally done something wrong, is lacking in perspective.

This. Tho I wouldn't describe it as strong vs weak, but committed vs noncommitted, as you were getting at with if we want to continue. I think, pretty quickly, providers and clients who are less committed to escorting will get out of it. I fall into that group. I've ocassionally planned for transitioning out of escorting; those plans will now accelerate exponentially.

I think the committed guys will get back into footwork, like I did last month as new leads crawled to a halt. Although I did make's last months bills and this month's rent, it's not for me. One, the ease of escorting due to advertising online was a big perk as it turns out, freeing up time to pursue outside interests (like getting an advanced degree). Working hotels, bars, etc required so much extra time I view it as losing money. Based on the time it took, I could make more money working fewer hours in a more traditional job -- without the stigma, the legal exposure, and the safety risks -- with time to spare to build a fitness business on the side. So that's the route I'm taking, as I phase out my regulars.

For me it's a door opening. I also got a hint last month a couple of guys I came close to dating, who both suddenly lost interest and friendzoned me, did so because I was escorting. So I'm taking all of it as a sign to move on. There was a point near the end of the Rentboy era when I was making so much money (2-4 clients a day in 30-35 flexible hours a week including advertising, marketing etc) I could absorb the losses. For me now, escorting is not lucrative enough anymore to be worth its costs: psychologically, socially, timewise, or professionally.

Yeah in terms of my own business, things are pretty dire. All of my income right now is from regulars -- not enough to cover bills. But I'm viewing it as an sign to get out of escorting. Not going down with this ship, I'm building a life boat from these deck chairs.

Firstly, SESTA/FOSTA has nothing to do with sites that pay or sites that are free. It has to do with ANY sites, free or not, that have forums, reviews, or escort or erotic massage ads that "promote prostitution." All you have to do is go into the Escort or Massage forums on this site, and everyone is recommending certain escorts or masseurs, and mentioning the sexual services they provide. In addition to all the reviews posted each day, that go into detail about sexual services provided, and include the website link to where you can find the escort being reviewed. Daddy's Reviews website is low hanging fruit, with it's reviews and sexually explicit forums giving advice on who to hire. It breaks all the laws in what SESTA/FOSTA is trying to accomplish. I do not know Daddy, but appreciate the service he has provided for all of us over these years. But SESTA/FOSTA will become law, and I for one would never want to put Daddy at risk. He seems like a great guy, and if he was a close friend of mine, I would tell him to take the site offline. I would never be selfish enough to want him to keep it online for my own pleasure, and throw him under the bus and risk a 10 year prison sentence, just so I could get recommendations on escorts or masseurs. That would be very selfish. This type of site is exactly who SESTA/FOSTA is targeting. It is a huge risk keeping it online, and risk going to prison. Ask yourself.....if this was YOUR site, would you keep it online with SESTA/FOSTA and all the shit going on with these bills and the climate in the Trump administration? I sure as hell would not. I would hit the "delete" button and sleep well at night, instead of tossing and turning in bed at night worried about getting caught and going to prison.

Accept whatever answer he gives and leave it alone. There's nothing more annoying that someone who won't take yes for an answer. Nobody likes feeling badgered or being made to repeat themselves.

If an escort tells you "I like everything" it either means one or two things. One, he likes everything. Two, he doesn't feel like answering the question and is politely setting a boundary. Either way, why make a nice situation awkward, complicated, and negative by second-guessing and pressing the issue? You asked, he answered. Accept the answer and move on.

It's why I don't understand the "I hope you enjoy/Do you really enjoy our time together?" queries. I mean, what's he going to say? "No, I hate it, I just want your money." Of course, he's going to say yes whether he does or not, what else would he say? But why ask a question that would force him to lie? He's agreed to spend time with you, accept it.

It’s because showing rates is a much more overt suggestion of a transaction and, when placed next to a video of a penis entering an anus, might give someone the wrong impression that they were linked. The medium by which that alleged transaction is conveyed could incorrectly be considered to be facilitating it.

Whiteness is at the top of the totem pole in American beauty standards: doll experiments with kids 3-5 prove American culture conditions us from childhood to find whites more attractive and desirable than nonwhites. This byproduct of American racism is well known from long ago.

That means few black escorts will ever reap the financial success of white escorts of equal attractiveness from escorting alone. A 10/10 white escort may be flown worldwide in private jets often and kept in unbelievable New York & Hollywood Hills apartments and the like. Unless he's also a top porn star, a 10/10 black escort won't ever live like that in this country.

Unfair, yes. I was shocked when I found out how well your average white escort does compared to nonwhites. But at this point, my reaction is *shrug.* We are working to build a more inclusive, integrated society where nonwhites won't be devalued. In the meantime, black guys have to be twice as good and work twice as hard to get a fraction of the recognition that a thoroughly average white guy gets. With the possible exception of professional sports, it's true across American culture. In gay culture that means black escorts, black fashion models, black go-go dancers, etc are going to have a tougher time.

Until the better future we are fighting for is here, no use in me whining about it.

We are at a cultural inflection point on this issue. The success of Black Panther has proven false the industry's standard go-to excuse: "There just isn't a MARKET for blacks, so my representation has to be 99.99% white....I can't have more than one black guy on my model agency's roster because of the MARKET...I *have* to relegate black guys to fetished separate but equal ghetto porn beause the MARKET won't accept black guys as a boy next door type" etc. It's never been about the market. There's a market for anything with enough industry support. It's always been about segregation, who gets support and resources, and who is denied support and resources.

There will be a better market for black escorts once American society is more integrated and less insane about race. But we are still three or four decades from the day when a truly hot black guy gets as much attention as a certain horsefaced white twink already can around these parts.

And don't even get me started on what Asian boys deal with, good grief.

I fully expect some level of being inspected and analyzed before someone decides to drop hundreds of dollars on spending time with me, and I envy escorts who don't mind such scrutiny.

But I am a very discreet and private person (that's part of what I offer, and why I have high profile regulars) and I feel the commentary about escorts here is mostly considerate, but still too often goes past due diligence and respectful research into careless assumption and glib commodification of human beings. I am still a person. Most guys get it, but enough here don't that yes, I prefer to be anonymous.
