A granola-like breakfast cereal was invented in the mid-19th century at a health resort in upstate New York.

Will Keith Kellogg and his brother John Harvey Kellogg invented corn flakes in the late 19th century.  He and his brother were both 7th Day Adventists and together founded the Battle Creek Sanitarium - a high-end health resort that espoused the lifestyle principles of the 7th day Adventist Church.  They invented flaked breakfast cereals originally to serve to the patrons of their toney health resort as a treatment for various digestive problems.

I caught this on the History Channel the other day: “The Food That Made America”. season 1 Episode 1. It told the story of cereal, the Kellogg brothers and how their success drove them apart. I think the development took place in Michigan and not New York…

Very few are considered nutritious - not that I would ever disagree with Bozo. The top 10 most nutritious cereals on the Mens Health list are ones I have never seen at the grocery store…with the exception of Cheerios.  They are not the ones heavily marketed and generallly available.  You can do better with plain old fashioned oats and a boiled egg. All the rest are just sugar and sodium filled junk. Despite how attractice the Count Chocula or Frosted Flakes boxes may be. 🤓

I have been working with a new provider in NYC.  He looks healthy, is athletic and offers an excellent service.  During our sessions, he is adamant about safe sex only, which I value and appreciate.  So far, all good.

In between sessions, he likes to keep in touch with me via text.  I don't know why, but he tells me how much he likes going to The Eagle in NYC on Friday and Saturday nights.  In his words, the 1st floor there is a real bacchanal.  Sexual acts going on between patrons all over the place, not just the rest rooms.  And all unprotected sex.  He says most men in the US are all on prep anyway.  It sounds like a bath house, which I didn't think still exist in NYC.

Home - The Eagle NYC (eagle-ny.com)

One time, he had to cancel a Saturday afternoon session with me because he had been at The Eagle until 5 a,m.   But overall he is reliable, courteous and professional about things.  A bit too honest maybe?  I am now confused how to proceed with him.  Having safe sex will protect me against HIV but not against other STDs.

    What would be your advice?

You did say you are practicing safe sex, right? Safe sex (I assume that means condoms) should protect you to a large extent from other STDs also. So now you have to decide if that decreases the risk to the level you find acceptable.

Does anyone have a provider they would recommend for a guy who is new to sensual/erotic massage? Open to any location really. If it’s near an airport, I could probably find a “reason” to visit 😂

Some context…I’ve hired 3 sensual and/or erotic (what exactly is the difference?) massages now. Each of them were pretty awkward and uncomfortable though.

The first time, the provider had me draped, but slowly removed the sheet while I was laying on my stomach (awesome!) At some point he stepped away for a few seconds and I tilted my head to the side and opened my eyes for a second (he was fully clothed). He blurted “what are you looking at?” and I just said I was adjusting my position while he had stepped away. I remained undraped but nothing more than therapeutic happened.

The second provider, I started undraped and the masseur (fully clothed) had spent a ton of time on my glutes. He had started massaging my prostate and I’m pretty sure his tongue was in my ass when there was a knock on the door…he jumped up and answered the door with my ass in the air! I was so uncomfortable after that I don’t even recall what happened after that.

The most recent provider also started fully clothed and spent a ton of time on my glutes. While I was laying on my stomach he took my hand and started having me stroke him (no longer clothed). He stepped away, but didn’t come back for at least 10 minutes! I didn’t dare open my eyes though for fear of being reprimanded again so not even sure what he was doing.

Am I doing something wrong? SOS 😉

My advice to you: next time walk into the room with the confidence of a 5year old wearing a Superman t-shirt. Dont let them push you around - you  are a paying customer and should demand better.

Your compassionate point of view is always so heart warming @pubic_assistanceWhere to meet will have to be agreed, just like with non-immigrant providers. Unless you speak the provider’s language and can have a voice conversation ahead of time, I doubt it will be worthwhile @Massageguy99  Especially if you enjoy a solid massage, which I assume from your chosen name.

That 45,000 is worldwide.  About 10k in the USA.  Actually, they already pay hefty taxes.  Are you talking about confiscating people's wealth??!!  Do you have any idea of the economic consequences of that?

Low interest rates fueled the growth in asset prices, leading to a rapid expansion in the number of centi-millionaires.

My numbers are based on. JP Morgan Wealth Management report dates January 2024 - will see if I still have it. Back to the topic if recession - I listen closely to earnings calls; most of the earnings calls so far this year indicated that business is strong and inflation under control. I will grant you that I can only speak to the companies I follow and they are best if breed.  I can list 10 billionaires that disagree with you about them paying hefty taxes already.

  7. We can afford the spending - according to IMF data the US spending per GDP is significantly lower than other developed countries. The problem is we are not paying for the spending…we are funding it through lending, which explains the 13% of federal funding that goes towards interest in the chart above. So, if we did something sensible like …that would remove the interest charge and get rid of the loans. Win…win. 🤓

It's government deficit spending (7% of GDP) that is keeping us out of recession, and at the same time setting things up for a massive economic crisis.

Are you sure?  From what I can tell, spending levels are practically back to pre Covid periods. Chart below from the US Treasury showing total spending. Looking st spending as a percentage of GDP is fairly similar.

I am posting this in the Male Strip Club section because Phillipe has been a Montreal stripper for quite a few years.  This story is in the public domain so I assume it is OK to post it.

Stock aficionados will recall Phillipe who danced at Stock some years prior to COVID.  He started as a cute energetic rather skinny but toned guy who, at the time, was a good friend of Yannick (also a Stock Dancer then).  Phillipe eventually got into serious bodybuilding and transitioned from Stock to Campus and also took long stretches off from dancing.  I last saw Phillipe at Campus in November of 2023.  Actually we spent the evening at the bar with a few other dancers reminiscing about old times.  Personally, I did not really care for his roided-up muscles and huge neck but it was fun to reconnect with someone I had spent time with years before.

Fast-forward to this week and my trip to Lauderdale.  I was talking to a few of the Canadian dancers and they said that Phillipe was in prison for beating up a girlfriend.  I texted a Montreal dancer that I know well and he confirmed it was true.  I quickly was able to find some news stories about the topic.  It seems he is likely to do some serious time for this as he is a repeat offender.

Again, I don't think I'm breaking any rules as all of this is in the public domain.

Warning:  some of the photos of the victim in the hospital are disturbing.

I’m in the market for a new vehicle, pretty set on the Lexus NS350h. MSRP is around $55.0k if I’m not mistaken. It’s been awhile since I negotiated the price of a car.

What is the best way to buy a vehicle in today’s market? Internet sales? Salesperson on the lot? And my big question is, what’s the best approach to negotiation?  What is a reasonable price request to shoot for? 5-10% off MSRP?  Any tips?

I plan to pay cash for the vehicle. I may finance a small portion just to keep my credit score up.

    Good advice from @BenjaminNicholas

You may be disappointed by the dealer’s unwillingness to negotiate. Buying a pickup? Sure they will negotiate. Buying an SUV or hybrid? Not so much.

You can try to visit multiple dealerships mid month and express interest, leave your number and perhaps the salesman will call you end of month with a (tiny) offer so they can make their sales quota.

You can also wait until May when the next year’s model is announced and pick up the current year model for a small discount.

Dont tell them you are paying cash - they make more money on financing, so express interest in that.

I was aware of this forum because there is an existing thread already with reviews of the professional in question, and I read them before reaching out to him. After receiving these threats from him, my natural instinct was to reach out to the community here for their feedback.

There is no requirement that you be explicit in leaving a comment on the provider’s thread.  You can simply say: “Based on my experience with him, I would not recommend. We ended up not meeting after initial communication”.

Some members may try to get you to expand on that - but you dont have to add any additional details.

I don't know where else to turn. I could really use some help!

I signed up for RM for the first time recently. I was talking to someone on their website. (For my own safety, I am not going to say their username.) He asked me to message him on WhatsApp, which I did. We were talking about setting something up in a couple months, when I would be traveling to their town. I ended up having an emergency at home, and since I don't normally use WhatsApp for anything else, several days went by where I didn't answer them. It was a genuine accident, due to being busy with the emergency, and I wasn't trying to ghost him. It turns out, without me seeing it, he was endlessly harassing me on WhatsApp during that time. It was days of him violently threatening me. I only found out because he ended up texting my actual phone number, which he was able to find on WhatsApp. The text message to my phone included a violent death threat against me, and some threats to hack me electronically, though I'm not sure if he meant he's going to hack my computer or cell phone.

I truly have no idea what to do. I don't know if I should report any of this to RM, or if they honestly will even care that one of their professionals is sending someone death threats. Of course, my cell phone company told me to report it to the authorities, but I don't think I can do that because then I would be explaining to the police that I met this person on RM. (I'm assuming it'd get in trouble with the authorities for using RM in the first place.) I have not responded to this person again, and I've tried to block any numbers they've used on my phone. This person lives far away, so I don't know if I'm in physical danger, but they are threatening to hack me. My internet provider and cell phone company seemed to suggest there's probably not a way for him to actually hack me, but I don't know how true that is. I genuinely have no idea what to do, and I'm scared to death. I haven't slept in two days.

Also, in a strange twist, I tried signing on to RM from my account and my account has been 'deleted.' I'm not sure if that's because he had people report me, and thus RM actually removed me, or if he hacked the account somehow and actually deleted me. Very scary.

Anyone have any feedback at all?

First of all…breathe and relax. The guy is probably trying to get you so freaked out that you will send him money. And once you do that, he will ask for more money and keep asking.

    Your to-do list:

    1. Dont respond to him. If you had a fixed appointment (day/time/location) and you did not show up, in my book you owe him a cancellation fee, otherwise you owe him nothing.

    2. If he keeps bugging you, simply respond: “You are harassing me and I am keeping evidence of your threats - if you dont stop immediately my attorney will contact the police and file a complaint”.

    3. Never use your actual phone number when setting up appointments with guys.  Get the “Burner” app which gives you a disposable number you can use. You can even link Whatsapp to that number if you wish.   I dont know how he could hack you with your phone number. You can reach out to Rentmen to have your account reopened and the password reset.

    4. Remember, scammers rely on fear to get to you. Brush it off, dont engage and move on.

BTW, who gives a hoot about Meta?

I do. So does the market - it is up 17% today after announcing a dividend for the first time.  Hard to make the case that a recession is imminent when tech companies are prospering. Nasdaq 100 index is up something like 80% for the year. Is a recession coming. Yes. Is it imminent? Does not appear so. Should you be ready, just in case? Always.

Denver, like many cities, has seen the arrival of many migrant men in the last year or so. Primarily from South America, some of the sexiest men are turning to escorting while many other opportunities remain closed to them.

I've had a bit of experience with the guys in Denver, but am definitely curious if other on here have had encounters as well. A few things I've gathered:

    1) Most have come within the last year and know little to no English. Unless you communicate to them in Spanish, they likely will be using Google translate to communicate with you. Some things are often lost in translation and you see it in the ads as well. One guy in Denver says he enjoys "morbid penetration"in his ad. Not trying to make fun of these guys, but you have to realize that they may not be able to communicate in English well.

    2) That said, they are fun, sexy guys that have a genuine aim to please. I've found these guys have been among my best recent hires. They have limits of course but they are willing to do quite a lot and have nice dicks and sexy bodies. I've always found they look exactly like their pictures. They are willing to send pics of themselves for verification. And if you know Spanish, they are interesting conversationalists. Some have definitely had quite a journey in life.

    3) They often live together in groups. There's defnitely a group of about 3-4 guys who are living together in Denver. It sounds like they're more friends then boyfriends but they apparently would be down to work together and I know they also do OnlyFans and other things together. I don't get the vibe that they are being taken advantage of anything. I certainly hope that is not the case.

    4) Overall, if there's a new Latin guy that catches your eye, I say go for it! They do know the business though and they charge the standard $300 as most guys in Denver do. We shouldn't try to go cheap on them just because they are new or naive. I think they are absolutely worth donating what they ask.

Anyone else have recent experiences with recent arrivals to our country? Any tips or experiences to share? I'd be curious if and how a non-Spanish speaking person hired one.

Also we no longer have a politics thread for good reason, so please don't view this thread as an invitation to any kind of political discussion or anti-immigration talk. I am just honestly curious how other members have interacted with these guys or even if they are in many other cities. Denver has a solid half-dozen guys but perhaps we are an outlier.

I have had two experiences with guys that I believe are recent immigrants. Both were for massages and both looked like their pics. Only one appeared to be trained but both stuck around for the full 90 minutes. There was no erotic element to either appointment though from his social media the one guy is clearly gay - the other did not have social media and I got the sense he was straight.  Neither spoke English and we did not get into their living arrangements - both indicated they traveling into the city from an outer burrough.  Both charged less than the standard rate for my city for a massage but I paid the standard rate and tip. The SayHi app is great for those that do not speak Spanish. They both preferred Whatsapp for communication post introductions on Adam4Adam.

Agree with the above. As a busy guy with a husband (who approves), I need an appointment, not an arrangement. If my circumstances were different, an arrangement might be more entertaining?

We all agree - seeking needs a different approach. Rentmen may be a better fit for most that do not have the time or desire to cultivate a friend with benefits arrangement. Others prefer the seeking route. You do you.
