I'm surprised Bernardo didn't get a nomination, or Riff... George Chakiris actually won the Oscar for Bernardo but this one (who won a Tony, i believe, for Billy Elliot) was not buzzed about.
The old Riff from 1961 was Russ Tamblyn, father i think to Amber?
Yes!
David Alvarez was fantastic as Bernardo.
LA Phil sounded great!
Watched again today.

Yes. I did.

In a small 99 seat theater I attended in LA, at one point a character posed a rhetorical question to himself and the audience. A nearby women in the audience offered up the answer to him. I guess she was trying to be helpful.
Are people losing their grip?
The incident at the Met sounds awfully weird. I almost wonder if the man had an underlying agenda.

He also once slapped a reporter in a public setting.
In either case I don't blame him for being angry. But his violence is disappointing and paints a poor picture.
No, to the OP question.

Travolta likes guys?
So sue me.
Nothing wrong with that.
I just watched the movie Sweet Smell of Success which points out to be mindful of underlying agendas of entertainment news.
So I don't get too worked up about these stories about Travolta, Hammer and so on.
I do have empathy when there is pain caused by it.

I see he's scheduled to be in Long Beach.
Has anyone seen CochinoBlk lately or planning to while he's visiting LB?
I am very tempted to book him. 👀

Though LA is currently in good shape, the new sub-variant could already be spreading into the area.

There are a lot of good teams this year. Gonzaga and Arizona are favored. My sleeper pick is Iowa.
LA Times sports page picked Iowa to the final 4. But no.....
I've been following Tennessee Volunteers! I believe they can make it to the final 4, unless I've jinxed them.

I like it more each time I watch it. I've especially warmed up to Ansel Elgort as Tony.

Attended the Judy Collins concert last Friday at The McCallum in Palm Desert.
Everything she sang made me emotional, including this one.

Yikes! That’s a sad read.
Elliott really went off the rails over gay implications how Bert and Ernie were lovers. True story!😉
For me, P of the D was not terribly gay.

Yikes! Anyone? Speak for yourself... As a teen in the 70s, I definitely knew I was extremely attracted to men, not at all to women, and I knew what the word gay meant. I had heard many say that young men went through "phases," so I at first didn't know whether this was a "phase," but as time went on, and certainly by the time I was 17, I knew I was gay and would always be gay.
While I don't deny that there may be people whose sexuality is bi, pan, or fluid, there are definitely those of us who are extremely strongly attracted to men, and totally unattracted physically to women. Autopsy studies have been done comparing the brain anatomy of gay men and straight men, and the brains are physically different. As far as I know, these studies have not been extended to those who identify as bi, pan, or fluid, and I'd be very interested myself to see the results of those studies.
Yes!
As a youth I even had bad dreams about marrying. Was pre marriage equality of course.
Even though I had a crush on a girl in grade school I was ultimately queer as a 3 dollar bill.
@Unicorn Thank you for sharing the article.
I especially liked how it recognizes women were more apt to identify as Bi. IMO academic study of LGBTQ people ought to recognize that males vs. females may experience all kinds of different factors leading to how we self identify.
e.g. We know there is data showing the probability a man will identify as gay increases as the number of older brothers increases. I always ask (rhetorically) if a similar study of women will be published.
