  1. Dear Abby: I am a lesbian who recently experienced heartbreak by falling in love with my mentor and boss. I didn’t want it to happen, but it did. The time we spent together was a balance of bliss and fear. My heart and soul feel that she feels the same way about me. I left my job because my feelings for her became so overwhelming, I could no longer cope.

She knows how I feel about her, and she has shown interest in me in the past. She is not gay, but I do know of straight women who have fallen in love with one woman in their lives. We have a 15-year age difference. That doesn’t matter to me. I’m absolutely crazy about her. I dream about our Victorian home together and a beautiful garden and life. I want nothing else but to make her happy for the rest of her life, make her breakfast every morning and beautiful dinners every night.
We are no longer communicating, upon her request. WAS THAT REQUEST IN THE FORM OF A RESTRAINING ORDER? I want to heal my heart and live my life. It’s so hard to let go of her, but I know I should. On the other hand, something tells me I should wait for her. How can I move forward and find the love I deserve in this life? — Crushed in California

Dear Crushed STALKER: If you really want to find the love you know you deserve, then you are going to have to find someone who is ready and willing to provide it. This person is not. She was interested in you only as a friend and an employee. Asking you to stop communicating with her was a strong message.

It may take time and even psychological counseling to help you disengage from your fantasy of an idealized life with this woman. But for the sake of your sanity, it’s important that you try. STAY FAR AWAY FROM ME, BUT CAN I HAVE SOME OF WHAT YOU’RE SMOKING?

    So you doubt his injury

Not at all, but I fully expected him to break Cal Ripken's record, given what an ironman he's been the last 5 years.

  4. A typo on Cartier's website that incorrectly priced a pair of gold-and-diamond earrings ended up being a costly mistake for the luxury jewelry retailer.

A consumer in Mexico said in a post on social media platform X that he was idly browsing Instagram when he came across the shockingly low-priced pair of earrings.

Typically 237,000 pesos, or more than $13,000, the jewelry was listed for sale for 237 pesos, or about $13, the New York Times reported. It appears Cartier omitted three zeros, sheerly by mistake.

When Rogelio Villarreal, a Mexican doctor, saw the low price, he broke out in a cold sweat, he said in the post.

Upon clicking to purchase the earrings, Villarreal unwittingly kicked off a monthslong dispute with the luxury retailer that even drew interest from public figures.

Initially, Cartier tried to cancel the order altogether and compensate Villarreal with a bottle of champagne and leather accessory to apologize for the inconvenience it had caused, according to reporting from Agence France Presse. But Villarreal deemed the offer unsatisfactory, and instead raised the case with Mexico's federal consumer protection agency.

Villareal told the New York Times that Cartier had informed him it had fulfilled his order. "War is over. Cartier is complying," he said in an April 22 post.

I worked for a kosher caterer.  Most of our jobs were at an affluent orthodox synagogue...  They had a huge main kitchen that was ultra-kosher - actually two separate kitchens - meat and dairy. But [it] was so big that they had... satellite kitchens - which were kosher enough - a single kitchen with meat on one side of the kitchen and dairy on the other.  But the satellite kitchens weren't kosher enough for Passover - during Passover, they were closed and locked - nobody could go in them.

@pubic_assistancein my experience “kosher-style” means that the restaurant or catering hall follows all of the basic rules of what “kosher” means except for the way the animal is killed and the presence of a mashgiach/rabbi.  A kosher-style deli would not be actually kosher but would not serve dairy, shellfish, or pork.

Like I said before .."kosher" is a religious practice, not a fashion choice.

Either you are or you are not.

    There is no kosher-esque.

I agree with you- I’m not the one who created the term; just saying that it is a term that restaurants and venues use.  At my own bar mitzvah, the catering hall described itself as kosher-style.  I agree that it is bullshit and have learned from orthodox people that there are no levels of kosher… a salad prepared in a non-kosher kitchen is no more kosher than bacon-wrapped shrimp with cream sauce.

    Kosher-adjacent?

He's not horrible.  But I'm only mildly surprised he wasn't nominated for an Oscar.

Let's just say there was no full-frontal.  After all, this was not an IMAX film.

I never cared much for my family's bland middle-America cuisine...and it's always difficult when I visit to find a decent restaurant that doesn't serve that.

That's why you should stop at a supermarket along the way and pick up a few packages of hot dogs & some buns, so the kinfolk can just stay home & grill them up.

Bring a portable grill if they don't have one.

    Horrible

Nolan Arenado’s record-tying streak of 10 consecutive Gold Gloves ended last season, when he was not even one of three finalists for the National League award at third base. This season, though, Arenado is deriving new motivation from a surprising source — the player next to him in the St. Louis Cardinals’ infield, rookie shortstop Masyn Winn.

“To be honest, playing with him makes me want to step up my fielding,” Arenado told me on Friday. “He goes hard for everything. Not that I don’t, but after last year the way I fielded, I see him getting after it. And I’m like, yeah, man, I need to get back to that.

“He brings energy. Watch him. He’s constantly talking to the pitcher: ‘Let’s go. You got this guy. Nasty pitch!’ I’m like, man, I used to do that when I was a young player with the Rockies. I kind of slowly got away from it. Now I’m like super quiet.

“He’s constant energy. You feed off it. Some teams might think he’s talking trash. But he’s really just talking to the pitcher all the time. It’s pretty cool.”

  9. There have been a few famous examples over the years of porn stars 'crossing over' to act in mainstream movies, but I recently came across an even more ambitious endeavor...

In 2015 Antonio Biaggi co-starred in and co-produced Chasing Pavement, an 82 minute movie available on Prime.

He appears for about 10 minutes, starting at the 21 minute mark, then again at a dinner party later, then has one final scene after that. (I zipped through it.)

Supreme Court Justice Joseph Esposito agreed that the racket from the venue — and wandering concertgoers — was a legitimate nuisance for neighbors, and ordered the venue’s overseers to put a lid on it following a lawsuit filed by the Forest Hills Garden Corp., a local civic group.
