I’m in a similar situation.  My younger sister died in a car crash last year, my died recently passed and my mom is in her 80s and my sister never married or had kids so no close relatives remaining.  Im going to just.  Spend my money while I can enjoy it

One thing that does concern me, being the only surviving child with no nieces or nephews, are a couple things that are very valuable to me for sentimental reasons I would hate to be sold for a few dollars after I pass.
My paternal grandfather service in WW1 (big age difference between my grandparents and he was over 50 when my dad was born) and my dad gave me his flag, his army uniform and war chest and bible he had (guess back then they gave soldiers a bible when they got drafted).   My maternal grandfather was an excellent carpenter and made each of his daughters a beautiful roll top desk and chairs and the thought of that being sold for a few dollars at a thrift store makes me sick.   Sucks being single with no surviving family to pass stuff like that on to

Type 1 diabetic, and I haven't had chocolate milk in years, but liked the Nesqwik sugar free powder.   Tasted just the stuff with sugar.   I think they also have it in sugar freein ready to drink.   Since being on a pump I just have the stuff with real sugar and just bolus for it.

When a provider quotes a price that I feel is way too high and then will come down when I give him the coutesy of telling him the originally quoted price ut of my range.   Also when they have photos that haven't bee updated inthe last year and have been on RM for a long time with no reviews

I'm the same way, don't like giving uncle sam an interest free loan.   I just make sure my withholding will equal my tax liability for the priior year so I can avoid a penalty

Wonder if they'll offer the option of a paycard?
We haven't issued paper checks for years to our employees but we are required to give them an option of a debit card to load it on for free

I've not received one either, because I always make sure I reduce my automatic withholdings enough to always have me mail the Treasury a paper check every year, not the other way around.

That amount sounds close to what the professional trustee outfit wanted for compensation.  Ultimately I was not impressed with their process or price.
Checking with your bank sounds like a good idea.  I learned about an example where a client needed an ongoing POA, and used a fiduciary at their bank.

I'm getting concerned with this myself.    I have a trust and my will is a pour over will.    I lost my dad and my younger sister recently and she was my only sibling and neither of us have kids so not sure who to handle my estate if my mom precedes me in death or incapable.   Really has me concerned about who to act as my health and financial P of A if I need someone
My lawyer told me to name my bank as my successor trustee and they would charge around 5 percent of my estate assets to handle the distribution.   It's all going to charity so I guess it doesn't really matter

I really like Quicken.    Great for tracking my investments and a good tool at tax time the will integrate with Turbo tax.   I don't like it as much now that is subscription based and you have to renew it every year

I use a combination of Quicken and Excel.  Quicken is my check register and serves many purposes: 1) can be tailored to meet your revenue and expense categories, 2) allow for split transactions (useful for credit card statements), 3) reports can be designed in many different ways, 4) allows for multiple accounts (checking, savings, investment, etc.), 5) reconciliation feature.  It can do much more but is a solid program that meets most of my needs.  There is a learning curve and requires you to input data.

Im a retired accountant who used Excel extensively when working.  Excel is a powerful software program that allows me to build projection models, I.e, future and present value calculations, what if models.

Also, there is a website calculator.net that has a ton of calculators that can help you answer a lot of financial questions.

Good luck to you.  It’s tough getting started but worthwhile in the end.

Here's a really cool video I just found. There is a option on treasury direct to have federal taxes withheld, from not only i bonds but any security you own at the time, when you partially or fully redeem them. Then you don't have to worry about owing taxes on it when you file your taxes. There really is no reason then to go through the hassle of reporting it every year. You can choose to have 0% - 50% of the redemption amount withheld for federal taxes:

I was lucky enough to see it twice with Patti Lupone and Boyd Gaines and Laura Benanti.   One of my favorite shows.    Patti received standing ovations both times after "Rose's turn" and won a well deserved Tony.    I loved her acceptance speech at the Tony's

i just do subs constantly but i do keep the free Chase Ink Cash for random charges between subs. It gets 5X on Visa giftcards at Staples the alternating weeks they are no-fee there and you can use those as either charge cards or debit cards anywhere Visa is taken (the MC giftcards they sell also). My old "between subs" spender was the free AmEx Blue Business Plus which gives 2X on everything. But new card subs give 20X to 50X everything. The 2 new Chase cards that came out today with 100K and 200K subs and $700 fees require a 20K and 30K spend. Ouch.
