There will be a variety of opinions about what 'should be' the going price in any city, but 'should be' doesn't make it so. Escorts have the option of setting any price they want, and clients have the option of paying it or not. The going rate in a market is what it is, what someone thinks it should be won't change that. Is hiring an escort a luxury? Maybe, maybe not. Not all escort experiences feel like a luxury, and from reading these forums as long as I have, a luxury price tag is no guarantee of a luxury experience.  Businesses like to portray their products or services as luxurious but reality bites, and they have to offer a product that's truly outstanding or offer a service tailored to a price point they can achieve. Escorts are not exempt from that economic reality. As @BuffaloKyle said $300-400 seems to be where the NYC market has landed. You can wish it were otherwise (higher or lower) but don't hold your breath.
I'm not altogether sure that this thread will elicit any new insights that threads about prices haven't already offered, but we can hope.

I would love to but I can't. Sex workers/content creators have been banned from the USA. They use a new AI system since the beggining of last year, it matches your face on cameras at the border, with your passport photo. Then runs a scan on International databases they have stolen taken, to match your face with websites that advertise sex and escorting etc. Then detain you at the border. It's happened to every one of my mates in the industry last year when they tried to go to the USA. The EU is sueing the US government for data theft and data protection violations.

I paid for it using Medicare for a couple years. Was hundreds of dollars a year with deductible, it was a “Tier 4” drug.  So with that level and gap coverage etc. was very expensive. Also note the Gilead deductible benefit goes away with Medicare, they don’t offer any help with “government” sponsored insurance plans.
So, for me it’s Amazon Pharmacy at $48 for 90 day supply. I just pay it out of pocket and don’t even turn in to Medicare.

Last July Medicare issued a draft proposal to pay for PreP both oral and injectable under Part B.   They would cover it without any out of pocket cost along with the related HIV testing.  They were suppose to issue the final rule last October but so far they haven't.

Yes this is highly regulated. The Association for Sexwork Knowledge (ASK) has a pamphlet that stipulates the exact content of an erotic massage.
The pamphlet describes that all erotic massages must include at least 3 touches of the client’s genitals (and the final or 3rd touch has to keep hold until the client climaxes or the time runs out). A minimum of one nipple must be tweaked and at least one ball gently cupped or caressed. If the client has a non standard number of nipples or balls the masseur has to ensure that 50% of the total ball / nipples available have to be touched.
Clients with a preference for bum work should indicate this either verbally or by parting their legs wider than table width. If the client does this then the pamphlet requires that the masseur insert a lubed finger (spit acceptable if no lube is available) past the first knuckle.
The pamphlet is called Hire for Intimate Massage. In short it’s the ASK HIM document 😉

I once booked a massage with a masseur at his home, without checking much into his set up or professionalism. I was young and naive, and this was before I actually joined the profession myself (call it my research years).
I turned up at the address given. It seemed ok. The masseur answered the door (I’d seen no pics of him, only a description and an outline of his services). He didn’t match the description but I was too scared to walk away…so I went in. He was very friendly, indeed he was delighted to see me.
I’ve written in more detail about it before so I won’t relay the whole story but the following behaviour occurred:
    - Using his loft (attic), a windowless cramped space accessed from the bathroom by a pull down loft ladder as his massage space. It didn’t quite have the right ambiance.
    - Letting me know, mid massage, that his wife would be home soon and I wasn’t to worry because she couldn’t get up the ladder…
    - Talking almost all the way through about how he wasn’t really gay but he liked massaging guys whilst he was naked.

The massage was mediocre, the ending wasn’t very happy and his wife called up from the bottom of the loft ladder if I’d like a cup of tea.
I didn’t return to him. The tea was too weak.

As is often discussed, "sensual" and "erotic" are vague terms that can mean many different things in practice.  An advertiser might change his ad for lots of reasons, including managing expectations of prospective clients.  However, if you're an experienced client with a provider, and the service provided has changed, why not simply ask?  It seems a case where actual communication would be better than assuming or making up stories about what has happened, there could be erroneous assumptions on both sides.  An honest exchange might either improve your relationship with the provider, or allow you decide not to come back to him.

+ robear reacted to Jamie21 in What area of the body do you want touched first for a massage?
Although having said I start with the scalp I realise that actually I don’t start there. When my client is laid on the table, for sensual massage I start in their head.. mean in their brain.
That’s where a lot is going on especially if they’re anxious or they just arrived after a day at work or after a long journey. So I start by leaning in, whispering in their ear some words (come for a massage and find out what I say 😉) …and then I ask them to breathe deeply for a few long slow breaths where we coordinate our breathing. Only then, once my client is calm does any pressure touch begin. If they’re not relaxed the muscles are too tense so I find the best place to work on first is their mind. Get in there and you’re going to give a great massage 🙂
