  1. @Westcoaster , that has to be the most brilliant idea I have read in the Forum in a long time. I am going to use that for my next massage session...thanks for sharing that ....brilliant!
  2. Sorry he had to cancel on you. It appears he is a full time massage therapist ,though. He mentions he has 10 years experience, and his hours listed are 7 days 8am-12 Midnite.
  3. I have never had anyone become defensive. It is a black and white situation. I booked a massage session for a specified amount of time, and they did not provide the full amount of time that I was paying for. Period. If they finish before the time is up, and let me know it is time to get dressed, and we still have 20 minutes left for the session, there is nothing to really argue about. They know they are in the wrong. So if I mention we still have 20 minutes left in the session, they ask if my back needs more work, would I like a foot massage, etc. And they provide the time they were going to short me on. As the saying goes "The first time it is their fault. The second time it is yours." So don't blame them for shorting you if you say nothing. Speak up. It has worked for me, and the masseur has never become defensive, since they knew I was right.
  4. If I am shorted on my time by a masseur I go to for the first time I will for sure mention it. I went last week to a masseur for the first time in NYC for a 90 minute session. I booked for 2pm-3:30pm. He moved quickly, and we got to the HE after about an hour. Massage and HE was done by 3:10pm, and he mentioned I could get dressed and he would be waiting in the living room. (I was paying $210 for the 90 minutes) I told him according to the clock we still had 20 minutes left. He agreed and worked on my back some more and gave me a great foot massage to finish. Done at 3:26pm. So I got my $210 worth. It is important we call these guys out if they short us. If we say nothing they will do it to the next client. Feedback like I gave him is important, since he will think twice about shorting the next client. And that next client can be any of you reading this in the forum. So call them out....it helps protect all of us when are shelling out big bucks for a massage. We deserve the full time for this kind of money.
  5. That is a personal decision. Some will say yes. Some will say no. I personally do a mix of both. I read the reviews on MF and RM. I then do a search in the search box here on the forum. I will tell you that there have been numerous times where a masseur has had positive reviews on MF and RM...but had negative comments in the forum. I was still going to try the masseur anyway, since they were available at the time I needed. And the massage session was fantastic. Also, the opposite has happened. I have gone to masseurs that are raved about in the forum, and my experience was awful. So the cliche "your mileage may vary" applies. At the end of the day, you need to just go with your gut feeling. You are not buying a house....you are just getting a massage. If it turns out bad, don't go back. It was just 1 hour out of your life.
  6. Almost correct. Yes = Masseurfinder the masseur selects the review. They can only post 1 review every 3 months. Why, I don't know..stupid rule, but many things on Masseurfinder make no sense, like not publishing contact info for the masseur from 12 Midnite till 6am. On Rentmasseur the masseur has partial control. If the masseur has a negative review, I have seen it been removed a day later. Obviously, the masseur contacted Rentmasseur to request it be removed, and RM obliged and removed it. My advice = don't waste your time submitting a review on either site. Stick with this forum for giving feedback on masseurs, or obtain info on a masseur by using the Search Box.
  7. He is toast. Gone. De-activated account. Most in the Forum probably already know this, but If I have a question about a masseur on Rentmasseur, I look to the box on the left of their ad at the bottom. It will tell you the date they signed up and started their ad.....and the last time they were online. This guy started his ad on June 2nd....and was last online July 10th. (last Wednesday) Now his ad expired. Looks like he tried for a month and quit.
  8. Masseurs that offer different sessions and different prices (erotic prices more than sensual) will usually just list it in their ad copy. They usually don't want to discuss it via text or on the phone. Any masseur that lists "Ask" is a major turn off for me. You have a price, so just post it. 95% of masseurs on Rentmasseur have their prices posted, so why don't these guys? I find it is kind of like a game....they will teasingly post "Ask" and charge what they feel like that day if you inquire. They also do it so you will contact them, and they can engage you and close the deal. I avoid those masseurs, and stick with the 95% that just list their prices.....keeps it simple and straightforward, as it should be.
  9. Totally agree with you. I think the major difference is that when you hire a masseur or escort all of the attention is on YOU.....and you get to list what you want and they oblige and it is their job to satisfy you. (and of course the icing is you get to choose hot guys from the pics they post that turn you on)
  10. @tchm His profile says he has been a member of Rentmasseur since July 11th which is yesterday. When was your massage session? Since according to his profile he has only been online advertising 1 day. In addition, in most photos his face appears to have been photo shopped on his body. (wow, I wish this massage thing was simple and we all did not have to be detectives just to get a good masseur)
  11. What sense does it make for a masseur to block anyone....whether they have viewed your ad 3X or 100X ? If they have not contacted you after multiple viewings, they might be nervous (bi-curious, etc) and are returning to check you out again, to get up the nerve to contact you Or they might not live in your area and are planning ahead when they are in your area on a business trip, etc. (which is what I do.) It makes no sense to block anyone from viewing your ad. I could understand if it is costing the masseur money each time someone views their ad....but it costs the masseur no money at all for repeat views. Nothing. I have viewed masseurs on Rentmasseur a number of times, knowing I would be in their area sometime in the future. I go back to re-read their copy, re-check their rates, view their photos again, make sure they are not going to be out of town when I am in town, etc. I have never been blocked, since the masseurs I chose are smart businessmen. In the end, after viewing their ads multiple times, I plan my business trip....contact them...and they get my business. If they had blocked me, I would have had no way to contact them and they would have lost my business. So blocking ends up losing money for the masseur. Bad business practice, and a money loser for the masseur.
  12. Good point re: tatoo, scar, etc. I would think someone wanting to be discreet would camouflage that. As far as what the OP should do I did address that in my response under #4) Solution. (re-read my post) I mentioned he should contact the masseur and give him advice on how to be honest and post his own photos while being discreet with the ideas I gave. ( this would let the masseur know the client is obviously not posting a review) Hopefully the OP will do that and contact the masseur with the suggestion I gave him.
  13. I asked my massage guy and he told me the following: Masseurfinder: They do have an exception as you described. If discretion is an issue, you are allowed to post a photo of your studio. If you use this option, you are not allowed to post any photos of yourself. They also have a policy that if you post photos of yourself, you have to show your face, no cropping or shadows to blur your face. Rentmasseur: Requires photo of the masseur.....but very relaxed about not having to show your face. You can even crop your head off and just show your body. Rentmasseur (if he is not already on it with the other guy's photos) seems like the best option for the masseur in this thread. as he can just crop off his head for discretion....or get artsy and do different angles and shadows to hide his face, while still showing off his body.
  14. Totally and completely not okay: 1) He is using someone else's photos. Whoever's photos they are is being ripped off and exposed as engaging in a business they are not involved in. This masseur you went to can be sued for doing this by the guy in the photos if he ever found out. The masseur you went to wants discretion? What about the poor guy's photos who are being used? No discretion for him, whoever and wherever he is. 2) Massage websites only allow masseurs to post their OWN photos. If they ever found out he would be kicked off the site. He cannot put in his ad copy that the photos are not him, but "resemble" him. 3) Who cares if other clients have left 5 star reviews? By leaving a review you are misleading future clients to believe that this is the masseur in the photo. This type of massage business is built on photos of the MASSEUR you are hiring, and even though he looks like that guy he is NOT that guy. Don't be complicit to his deceit and leave a review. 4) Solution: Contact the masseur and tell him to do a photo shoot where he does not show his face if discretion is important. There are many great ways to hide your face, such as different angles, posing with your head to the side, using lighting to shade your face, etc. I have seen many masseur ads that want discretion use these techniques to accomplish this. They show off their body and other assets, without showing their face. A photo shoot of this sort will keep him honest. At this point what he is doing is dishonest and deceptive. For whatever reasons he gives, it is still wrong. But he can make it right, and keep his job by doing a photo shoot as I described.
  15. I guess the obvious question is what service are you looking for? If you are looking for a massage, then tell him you found him on Masseurfinder and get your massage. If you are looking for an escort, tell him you found him on Rentmen and have your escort session. Pretty simple.
  16. I don't believe in the word "ugly" applied to anyone....even if they are hairy and overweight. That is painting with a broad brush stroke. EVERYONE has an attractive quality. I have been with overweight guys that have piercing blue eyes.....or a great smile....or a great southern accent. To me, everyone has some physical attribute that makes them beautiful, even if it comes from the inside and is projected out. To throw the word "ugly" at anyone that has a physical quality that is a turn off to you, and call them "ugly" is just plain wrong. I know this will sound cliche....but bring up Christina Aguilera's video on Youtube for the song "Beautiful" She totally nails it in that video about what I am talking about with the visuals and lyrics. By the way....amazing how in 2002 when that video was made she has such a pro LGBTQ message ....17 years ago she was way ahead of her time....she saw the beauty in all of us in the LGBTQ community in that video, just as we should see the beauty in everyone, too. (even if they are hairy and overweight) Watch that video and you will "get it"
  17. Thanks for the feedback, but I am not angry today or any day. Actually I am always in a great mood. I just have zero tolerance for masseurs that discriminate against clients based on race, age, appearance, etc. And I feel that almost all masseurs that ask for photos are doing just that. Yes, some are screening for their own protection , but that is a rare minority. Most photo requests are based in discrimination.
  18. @Mocha , I just looked at your Rentmasseur ad. You are a very hot man, so that is not the issue. I think your photos are great, your ad copy is good, a bit quirky, but that is a good thing since it sets your ad apart. Having a Blog is a bonus, since most masseurs don't use that feature. The 3 issues might be: 1) In your blog you discuss cancellation fees, etc....which I feel is fair. But you also mention (if I read it correctly) that you have a "window" where you might run 15 minutes to an hour late. That is probably turning people off. 2) I think the elephant in the room is your pricing. Your price is $150 on the front page. But in your review section you go more into detail, and your prices are pretty high. You charged one client in a review $240 for 60 minutes....another $250 for 90 minutes. I know extra services were provided from your service menu you provided, but I think clients contact you....go along with booking, etc......then contact other masseurs and find they can get it cheaper and back out on you. I suggest lower prices. 3) If you want to keep prices higher and get a larger pool of clients, I would travel to the larger cities. Your travel schedule (except for Chicago) has smaller cities with less clients who probably have sticker shock at your prices. They get excited that someone hot like you is in their smaller town, book....then have buyer's remorse due to high prices and back out. Hope this feedback helps. Good luck!
  19. I think screening clients with pics to weed out freaks is useless. If Ted Bundy (Google his pics) had sent a pic in a situation like this, a masseur would feel very comfortable and take him. And look at what a nutcase/murderer he turned out to be. Every masseur I have ever been to lives alone, ( I prefer it that way for privacy and discretion) and none have ever asked for a pic. Many of my masseurs have provided services to me for 5+ years and I have never heard any horror stories, although I am sure a small percentage of masseurs have had scary clients. At the end of the day, you never know who the nutcase will be, and asking for pics to decide won't help, as in the Ted Bundy example. I really believe 99% of photo requests are for masseurs to pick and choose to work on the hot guys, and dump the ugly ones.
  20. Hard to give feedback without seeing your ad. Post a link so we can get an idea of how you are presenting yourself in your advertising.. How you present yourself is KEY. You describe your situation, but seeing the ad itself is worth a thousand words, and we can give you more constructive feedback by viewing what you are putting out there.
  21. Bottom line: If a masseur is requesting a photo of a potential client before they book the session with you.....they are checking you out first. If you are overweight, not good looking, etc, they will find an excuse not to take you. Rarely is it because they are protecting themselves from "weirdos." How can they tell "weirdos" from a photo? Plain and simple, they just want to pick and choose the good looking guys as clients. They have no desire to work on fat or unattractive guys......photos help them make that decision.
  22. @spacecowboy , you stated it perfectly. I don't know how anyone can disagree with what you said. Masseurs posting photos that are not photos of them is not cool. But since they are hot, they get a free pass, and you stay and hire them? By hiring them, it only encourages them to continue doing it. We need to let them know it is not okay to post someone else's pics, and turn around and leave. If we don't leave, and happily stay since they are hot, then we are complicit in their deception for other clients.
