Thank you all for the guidance. As a left-brained person, I am not particularly money-savvy, but know enough to get by. I have been able to maintain a diverse portfolio of investments mostly in ETFs. I also use robot investors like Wealthfront , Betterment etc since I do not know how to pick stocks myself.
In my early 50s I am feeling pretty lost in life as I don't know where I am headed next, what kind of support system I will have as I become old and frail etc. Friends from 20s and 30s left me due to political differences that peaked during COVID.  Lost my father last year, and Mom is in her last years. 
This forum has been a good support system .. especially sage advice from the people ahead of me in this journey called life.

Those of us who are involved in hiring escorts, on a regular basis, invest quite a bit of money in this hobby. Two of the very nice things about this hobby is that we are completely free to believe whatever we want, and we are equally free to set any restrictions we want on the escorts we choose to hire. I usually try to limit my hiring to guys who state, up front publically in their rentmen ads, that they are gay and versatile. I like to think that I'm keeping my money in the gay family and by stating that he is versatile the escort is open to a variety of experiences. Do I care that other hobby participants or escorts think I'm being ridiculous and/or delusional, absolutely NOT. It's my money and I spend it in a way that makes ME happy.

I have been hiring in NYC for 20+ years. This is a competitive market with no shortage of attractive service providers - both escorts and masseurs. There is ample capacity of gay providers, I decided a while ago that I would never, ever again hire providers who state they are straight/bi/ask me. I detest physical contact with women and the thought that the escort/masseur may have been in touch with pu^^y totally grosses me out. More importantly. I don't want a young man - or anybody for that matter - to get out of his comfort zone to put up an act with me.
 
So there it is - gay only for me.

My first ever hire did not like Asians. It was very evident from the time we setting up the meeting. In fact, in hindsight, he seemed to try to cancel it as I was parking the car. But that being my first, I went for it, and totally regretted it.
 
Hygiene goes for both client and escort. Sad to say, even some of the best rated and best looking escorts I have hired had some odor situation.
 
I immediately stop communicating with escorts when they ask for pictures or ask for more descriptions or stats. And true that! Initial conversations and exchanges should build raapport. It is that connection, or lack thereof, that could make such reqiests a non-dealbreaker.

I personally believe that escorts and non-therapeutic masseurs should not only ask these questions, but make their preferences clear too. It may seem initially harsh, but it will save us all time and money in the long run.
 
I haven’t indulged in an escort yet, but have had masseurs and will tell you, YMMV plays a significant role in one’s overall experience. Preferences and “types”, may not be fair, but this line of customer service is subjective.
 
I’d rather be told I’m not someone’s type because of my race, age or body type and save some money, rather than have an awkward, lackluster experience with a bad vibe.
