I'm retired, and live in the suburbs, but can easily access Chicago via Metra a block from my home. Once in the city, either walk, or take a cab, which are cheap and plentiful.

That brought back memories. Grew up in Detroit in the 60-70's. Took the bus (DSR) everywhere back then, and so did a lot of people living in the neighborhoods. If memory serves me right, it was less than a dollar to ride, and a transfer was only a nickel or dime more. Never had a problem. I didn't have a car until I was 19.

There have been three. Erik of Budapest. He was my first experience with a man, and hiring. Such a nice experience. He was welcoming, initiated touching, and kissing very soon after a brief chat. You always remember your first. I don't think I would have had to courage to hire again if he were not so nice to me. Have seen him only once after, but hope to see him again. Alec Andrews. My second hire, and second time with a man. He answered the door wearing nothing but open ass briefs. He kissed me as soon as the door was closed, and I'd never kissed a man with scruff, so the sensation surprised me, and I pulled back for a second. In hindsight, I wonder if he thought I was law enforcement, as he proceeded to undo my shorts and blow me, and we were still standing by the door. And that was just the beginning. Tristan Baldwin. I no sooner walked in the door, and he was so welcoming, and kind. Came up to me and hugged me, and gave me a kiss. Immediately, he made me feel special, desirable, and genuinely wanted to get to know me. The ultimate boyfriend experience, without even asking for it.

I was a just few years younger when my company offered a buy out. After almost 30 years there, home already paid off for ten years, I decided to take it. Forget the first year, its been almost five years. Like you, sleep late, and a lot of the same etc., but have also taken a few nice trips, and see out of state relatives in the summer. I occasionally think of starting to do something part time, but never get around to it. I'm worried they wouldn't hire me because I would want too much time off. Don't feel any guilt. Sleep till you wake, don't set the alarm if you don't have to. Soon you will begin to think, as other retirees have said, you don't know how you got so much done while you also working.

My parents were immigrants. Neither spoke a word of English when they arrived. When speaking to us kids, it was always English, but when speaking with their friends, and the sole relative also living nearby, they would sometimes speak their first language. I just figured they didn't want us kids to know what they were saying.

I stayed at the Royal Palm in January 2016. Nice hotel, not the most high end, but clean and in good repair, with a nice walk in shower, right on the beach on Collins near 15th with a friendly staff. It's independent, but used Starwood points, so was very affordable, but don't know what rates would be, but may it now be part of the Marriott portfolio for points. It's next door to the Loews, and a block or two south of the Ritz Carlton. If you cab from the airport, they (then) had zone fares. It was $40 one way from MIA to the hotel. My one and only time I hired someone to come to my hotel, but we had met before, so all good.

Haven't hired in over a year, so this year only tipped my barber a C note, and $20 to the woman who delivers mail to our building.

Happy Motoring.

My father was a union guy, and always bought American cars. In the early ‘70s, my brother bought a Toyota. My father would not let him park it in the driveway. Fast forward almost 40 years later, my father was living with another brother who recently bought a Japanese car. My father told me he really liked his new car.

Good question. An abandoned pickup bed ‘loo’ ? Haystack loo ? Hay bale loo?

‘65, ‘67, and ‘68 Impalas are my favorite years. (Didn’t care for ‘66)

Maybe it’s my imagination that sedans have gradually gotten lower to the ground for aerodynamics, or my advancing age, but I found it harder to get in and out of my last sedan. I bought a crossover last year. Easier to get in and out, no longer scraping the trim off the lower part of the front bumper on parking curbs because it’s too low to the ground, and I can see much better around all the other SUVs, or piled up snow at corners when trying to turn/pull out onto the main road.

Please don't let that bother you. I'm a relative newbie too. Have only hired six providers, for a total of 14 meetings since 2015. Never had a RM account until just a couple of months ago, and have not populated it with any info/reviews. However, have submitted three reviews to Daddys, but first two were before I joined forums, so they all have different handle than my forum name. I continued to use the original handle for the third review after joining the forums.

The guy that bought my house many years ago was Lithuanian. Never saw him until the closing. I was very impressed. Beautiful man.
