Are you "gay"? Are you "queer"? What the hell are you?!
pubic_assistance replied to + Charlie's topic in The Lounge
I do believe anyone who lived through the 50's would view American culture as too monolithic and I also agree it was so. Sadly your choices were to play along or "leave the room". Those cultural battles of the 60's and 70's created a more pluralistic society. Thus expanding the size of that "room" so much that we can all stand in it without annoying each other. So no reason NOW to feel so "queer" that you're not welcome. -

"Fitting in" doesn't require complete submission to the predominant culture. When I was a kid growing up in Central PA we were all American first and your individuality was second. Things like homosexuality and cross dressing were verboten in the 70s. But now you find gay couples mixing in with everyone else. Fitting in is no longer an issue. But now we take that word "queer" and drag in every other marginalized group while losing the progress for respect that gay and bisexual people have worked so hard for. -

Bravo. I completely agree. It's all divide and conquer strategy. Calling yourself "Queer" is reminding yourself daily that you don't fit in. How humiliating. -

Yup. Where I grew up most of us were either Lutheran or Bretheren (or both). Amish and Mennonite are Anabaptist. -

Is it ? Then why can't you even type it in full on the site ? Clearly there is more power behind those words than the words "celery" or "cabbage". -

My family is a mix of Pennsylvania Deitsch, English Quaker and Iroquois Tribespeople. But we mostly identified, communicated and celebrated as Pennsylvania Deitsch. The "Amish" are a religious extremist subset of PA Deitsch. (The people you see at the tourist-trap "Amish Markets" are actually Mennonites). So in PA- the Amish are PA Deitsch but most PA Deitsch aren't Amish. -

Have you really ? It's still an insult. So how did y'all "take ownership"? Both "f***ot" and "qu**r" are still pejorative and meant to make someone feel bad about themselves. I refuse to accept these words simply because I am not a mainstreamer. Pretending to embrace it doesn't make you have ownership. It makes you a sucker for punishment. -
Obviously I haven't been since before Covid...and I only tried twice. But very disappointed by the crowd. Nobody particularly attractive there. The "businessmen" were rough looking ..all out of shape and their young buddies were scruffy looking /street hooker /druggie types.

I'd be borrowing many cups of sugar from his mom...if this was the "boy next door".

Go ahead. What's the percentage of men who let themselves go ?

The 20 somethings probably don't flinch like I do when they hear "queer". Growing up in a religious conservative community, the term "Queer" was more than a cocksucker. It meant you're so fucked up in the head, you don't belong...and to the Pennsylvania Dutch, belonging to the community is everything. Cocksucking could be forgiven but "queer" was a condemnation of your worth as a human being. I hate that word. -
Where does this assumption, come from that everyone who gets married, stops taking care of themselves ? I know some do...but some of us like to keep fit.

Interesting. I've never heard that term used that way in the 70's/ 80's...so pretty sure that you're correct. No longer used. We mostly called outsiders to the order "the English". -
It wasn't.

Bottoms.... yes, this is the title of the film :)

The trailer was good. The movie itself...meh. Lucas Gage (the blond guy) provided most of the comedic moments and did a good job holding up an otherwise cheesy film. -

Yeah ? Then you're not getting a "Thai massage". Pizh gives a mediocre Swedish rub. Totally useless. -

No therapeutic offerings. So yet another escort advertising as a "masseur". -
I like that Baxter includes people of all gender identities and races in his OnlyFans broadcasts. I've seen his previews on Twitter with other men, Trans men, Trans women, women with strap-ons, big women, black women, Asian women. He's an equal opportunity sex God.

This sounds like a Hollywood version of NYC.

How high does the Fed go?

Raising interest rates just as the economy is trying to recover from the extended Covid restrictions is not Modern Monetary Theory. It's another obvious attempt at crushing the little guy so Mega-Corporations can gobble up yet another percentage point or two of the market. Banks, Credit Card companies, Mega-Retailers and and Real Estate companies in the US made huge profits off the misery of people who's life savings collapsed during the Covid Panic. -
Yes. Correct. You are fine. I was just joking about this habit of recommending someone just because they have a big dick.

Does he offer time-travel with the session? Because THIS ain't what's greeting you at the door more than SIX years later.
-
Impressive. Was there a.few weeks ago. (Also my third time). When I'm traveling with others I could never manage so much time in one place. I hope when I am old, I can simply pay someone who pushes me around the great museums in a wheelchair...so I don't have to worry about time spent reading the little cards.

Abercrombie Upcoming Documentary

I was blissfully unaware of all this behind the scenes drama. I do miss their Hollister-brand store near my gym. The models were always stunning and wore the jeans one size too big so it hung low enough to expose their ass and a bit of pube. There were a few I just wanted to bite, they were so delicious. Like the Playboy Club, the times have made these kinds of flesh marketing strategies impossible. I miss the days where my pure ignorance of the alleged abuses allowed me to just enjoy the show.
