I live in Ft.Lauderdale and this all caught up to me this year.    My car and condo insurance bundle increased 30%.   The condo association was hit with 50% insurance increase.   Our fees went up $200.      There is no reason to believe these kind of increases won’t happen again next year.  That’s the scary part.

Even Daddy had moved on from this ridiculous beefing between both sites. We have no many outlets where we can share our experiences with sex work. It is sad that instead of supporting each other, we are acting like middle schoolers beefing in social media about who has more followers.
I do not want to correct AGAIN all the inaccuracies here. I did it in another thread, and the thread was deleted by the mods. But this is indeed childish.

It’s being worked on by the programmers now.   Should be fixed today.    Some people are getting in, but it’s very slow.

You are the one who needs to let it go. Why you even started the thread escapes me. You have no desire for a conversation. You just want to argue your point...rather endlessly. You go be you and the rest of us will be us.  Life will go on.

I’ll strongly disagree with you that there is a gang on the other site that tells Oz what to do.           He is very much his own person and been around this business a long time.

I thought I had posted it here years ago, but cannot find it, so here, take a look:

As promised (threatened?) I will give a rundown on the festivities as the first of my sons was married two weeks ago, with another engaged and the third playing the field.
For those who hadn't been around, I am a widower with three boys who came late to acknowledging any male/male attraction, and I struggled with coming out later in life than some do. My oldest now works on Capitol Hill, and my younger two are twins, one of whom is in the Navy and the other of whom lives in Chicago after getting his degree from DePaul-- thus their nicknames in this chronicle.
Navy Twin and his fiancee had been together since high school, and they survived his years at the Naval Academy and long separation to reach this point. It was a beautiful, simple wedding, they are both no-nonsense people with little patience for anything too fancy. That mean it was not too expensive, which was nice since I was hosting the rehearsal dinner. They got married in the Chapel at the Academy, and we had the dinner the evening before at the Officers' Club, where my dad is a member. My parents and siblings were there, and my late wife's family likewise. Some of you may remember that my brother-in-law, who came out as gay when he was young, was the first person I confided in. He had eased the way with his side of the family, and they've been nothing but supportive, perhaps because the boys have been. Similarly my son's fiancee's family-- a couple of them didn't say much but I didn't really know them, so that may have been all it was. As I said in an earlier post, I don't think my daughter-in-law to be would have put up with any attitude about it. The evening was pretty relaxed overall.
Naturally everyone was very conscious of who was missing-- the boys' mom. We all talked about her and told the bride's family stories, and if I wasn't already puzzling them, that must have done it, since so much of the talk was about what a wonderful marriage we had, which is true.
I stayed up late back at the hotel talking to the boys about nothing in particular, but we did bring up the last time we all stayed in an Annapolis hotel, when we dropped Navy Twin off for plebe summer. You may remember the last thing he murmured to me before marching in to start the summer, "Be happy." Everyone here, me included, wondered if that meant he had suspected what was going on with me. But after I came out to them, I asked him if he remembered saying that, and he said he did. I asked him why, and blunt as ever, he said, "Because I didn't think you were very happy then."  Smart kid. That was the trip where DePaul Twin, his brother, quietly cried all the way back to DC.
More to come, the wedding, and everybody meets my "friend."

I’m in Bangkok now.   The mask mandate is going to end mid June.  Tourist have been returning, things picking up weekly.  Entertainment venues should be opening next week.

I also hope Ft.Lauderdale passes on it.   Or passes on the costs to tourists instead of local tax payers.  City Commissioners have been trying to get some sort of light rail but residents finally won out after years of back and forth.   So now they are going to try to push this tunnel system that will only be used by tourists.   Residents are already forming opposition groups.
    time will tell.

I live in Ft. Lauderdale. Tourism is way down. No snowbirds. I haven’t seen a Canadian license plate in months. Same with cars from the Northeast. A few New Yorkers around. Beaches very quiet. Restaurants open but with limited capacity.
There are mask issues but it seems to be an age thing. During daytime lots of mask wearing, but when sun goes down and younger crowd heads out for evening entertainment, masks seem to disappear. I stay pretty close to home so not up on what’s going on in the gay venues in the evening. I got the vaccine but I’m still avoiding crowds for awhile.
Ive flown to Boston a couple of times and all my flights were full, so there are some people coming down.

I’ll contradict your experience a bit. I went to my Publix on the east coast of Florida. Way worse than last week. Most people were walking in and out with nothing. Never seen so many empty shelves.

I’m headed to Hong Kong next weekend on my way to Bangkok and Hanoi. I’ll be there for a few months. I have friends there so we don’t go to big tourist areas frequented by Chinese tourist. I’ll be keeping a close eye on what’s going on. If it blows up in Thailand I’ll look to coming back to the US.

I played tennis avidly for decades. I still follow the sport passionately. Winners find a way to win. Losers find excuses.

I would post more, but the first day of play at the Australian is in full swing. Gotta watch!
