Here's why: Unless you are the only provider in the area (a 50-mile radius?) or someone really special, clients and potential clients have to use some type of criteria to narrow the field of providers down to one. During that process, if a provider informs you that an upfront deposit is required, that provider should be eliminated. It's really simple. We as clients and potential ones should help each other look out for our best interests so we can make wise choices, and this forum provides us with a place where we can share helpful information and advice. A provider demanding a deposit upfront should be a big red flag. And stating the truth is not talking trash or talking s__t as you claim. It is just common sense.
