The endless debate about rates 🙄. “I won’t pay more than x”….”he’s asking too much” etc. If a guy wants to work at a rate of $500 per hour that’s entirely his prerogative. You don’t have to pay it, no one is forcing you. Just move on to someone who’s charging what you’re prepared to pay. His price is his estimation of his worth, not yours.

LOL. This sounds like someone who should get as far away from customers as possible, and avoid having anything to do with a service job. Wow. Just when you think you've heard it all.

For me, I've been on some form of PrEP since Truvada trials in late 2010.  I get bloodwork every 90 days.  My renal numbers have remained perfect.
The talked about side-effects aren't widespread and are highly overdramatized.  The rough percentage of those who have any renal issue is 2.3%

No, let’s ask SA survivors, who will mostly reject this technical definition being conflated with being held down and fucked, being cornered with weapons, or being drugged and waking up violated.
Honestly, using ChatGPT to try and override an SA survivor is some ugly nerd Reich shit.

You should hope you’re never revealed. While what happened to Brazilian is terrible, it’s not sexual assault. Conflating the two is incredibly dismissive of those of us who have been raped or sexually assaulted.

josh282282 reacted to + purplekow in Have most providers stop treating you as a customer?
As a physician, I was frequently confronted by a. variation on this theme. "I know my body".  This came up frequently in discussion of treatment plans such as prescribing unneeded antibiotics, excessive numbers or types of pain medications, ordering of unneeded or prematurely requested tests and other situations.  Much of this had to do with the internet and the pill culture of Americans.  Sometimes, I could in good conscious and in good practice alter my treatment plan to satisfy the patient but when I could not, I would tell them that I was not going to prescribe what they were requesting as it is simply not the medically appropriate choice by current guidelines.  I would also suggest to them, that if they felt this was not satisfactory, I could recommend other doctors to them in the area.  I was cursed at, threatened, physically assaulted, insulted, reported to the medical board  and degraded but I held to the principle that the customer was not always right when that variation was used.  Ultimately, those dissatisfied clients left or did not return.  They were often told if they opted to follow my instructions, I would follow up and consider alternative treatment but that treatment may not be the one they are requesting now.
I would say 98% of my patients were cooperative, listened to my explanation and walked away, if not happy, at least understanding why I was handling their issue this way.  But when you see 50 patients a day, as I did in my walk in, that means, on average, there was one person who would test my patience with patients.

May I remind everyone to be careful with providers! I've had to friends come down with MRSA, one after an operation, the other with a provider who furnished wet and unclean towels at the end of their session.
MRSA is contagious and spreads through direct contact with infected people or contaminated objects and surfaces. It is spread through skin-to-skin contact or contact with things like towels, razors, clothing, and sporting equipment that an infected person has touched.

Clients that do this are really fucking annoying and it's a BIG reason why you get labeled with the 'time waster' tag.
We get 'hey I like you are you available text'. we reply back with 'yeah I can be, what part of town are you in my rate is *insert standard rate* etc etc' then silence from the client, or even better 'great, let me get back to you'.
Because we might be preference number 3 or 4 or 5 and they are waiting to hear back from number preferred provider 1.
Which then leads to us just putting little effort into the reply sometimes because the volume of messages we are getting from people  only messaging us as they just want us to  'audition'.  The volume of people messaging providers for these interactions ONLY while they jerk off looking at our pics and imagining what it would be like. the text messaging back and forth completely satisfies them is ASTOUNDING. It's vampirish and exhausting. I assume every single person that reaches out is one of these people until they prove me otherwise. And even though you ARE hiring, reaching out to three people adds to it.
There are other reasons for a quick short response - it could also be a quick reply because we are already talking to someone else, we are at the gym, on the subway, on a airplane, in the library, sitting at a barber chair, eating at a restaurant: we are not sitting at an office desk when we are fielding enquiries.
I get that sometimes waiting for a reply can be frustrating, especially when you are horny and excited. I wish clients would keep this in mind when reaching out.
I also get that it goes both ways - I get really fucking annoyed with short messages like 'rates? available?' and giving full replies 'yes I am available, how are you? when are you looking for?' to then only get one word reply back.  but that happens A LOT. People treat Rentmen conversations a lot like grindr in terms of communications styles.
It's hard not to get offended sometimes when you are not getting back what you are putting out. I'm with you on this!

    To answer your question -
I have a standard reply that I edit around the initial text.
I think it matters and I always try to be professional.
But there is a line of giving a lot of myself out there (FOR FREE)  for people who are already talking advantage of it, people who are messaging multiple people that are not THAT interested in me - which can be really draining. Versus holding back and protecting myself and mental health from these interactions so I can be my BEST self when I do show up for bookings. It's a tough balance that we don't always get right but try to.

There’s a lot of gay fiber gimmicks out there that are preying on body shame and half truths.   A lot of them are selling gummies as a replacement to douching which simply isn’t true.  And most of these products can be purchased way cheaper at a regular pharmacy.

Girl, I don't know who you think you're talking to, but this response reads as a TROLL. You come in swinging on someone who is among the first to advocate for providers and - as said above - am happy to pay a reasonable deposit.
You have totally gotten the wrong person. There may be people like that on here but I'm not one of them. Rather, I'm an excellent client with several regulars.
This part, I believe. I'm an above-average-looking, fit, and fun guy of a similar age. So our experiences are bound to be different.
"The top of the food chain..." is exactly the kind of toxic thinking that leads clients to treat providers poorly.

I notice you joined this forum less than a month ago. That’s great that you want to join the discussions here. I don’t know if you were a lurker before joining but in any case we have a long history of the deposit issue. The general consensus is  not to pay a deposit except in certain limited circumstances such as extended multi day engagements.
I have no idea of what market you hire in but being always asked for deposits in the 200 to 500 $ range as you assert is not the norm in any market I am aware of and over the last 30 years or more I have hired throughout North America and many times in Europe. I have rarely if ever been asked to pay a deposit. I only once paid an airfare for someone from San Francisco to meet me in Montreal. And that worked out fine as we were together for 3 days.
But then I am a premium client on RM and even before then was always seen as a reliable client by the way I presented myself. I always conduct myself in the same way in other commercial transactions. Being trustworthy engenders trust.

    Good morning
Primary care physician here.   I work in a mid-size physician group on the east coast (not NYC) & do this (treating patients high pressure) for work all day long, so I'm familiar with your issue & I'm rooting for you to conquer it!
You do not have a "minor" problem.  You have hypertension,  also known as high blood pressure.  Its in the family of cardiovascular disease.
    Its dangerous & potentially lethal.
Its the number 1 killer of Americans (I am aware you live in the UK but I did not investigate UK health statistics),  which means more deaths than cancer.  Are you aware of that?
If your doctor told you that you had cancer, would consider it to be a "minor" issue?
I'm not trying to be indelicate or confrontational but (hopefully) educational.   Your health future depends on you fully understanding & controlling your blood pressure.  Gay folk are wonderful & beautiful and we can't afford to lose one of us prematurely.
Strong work on the exercise! It may help. Keep it up.
    A) Other interventions to consider:
    1) lose 15 lbs (if that applies to you)
    2) significantly reduce (best is stop) your alcohol intake. Maximum is 2 drinks per week (on 2 different days, not 2 drinks on 1 day).
    3) reduce your salt intake. (For example- canned soup has crazy high amounts of sodium)
    4) stop all nicotine products (yes, even vaping is smoking).
    B) Is your blood pressure controlled? If not, are you on max dose ramipril 20 mg a day? If so, are you only on ramipril? Most people with high blood pressure need 2 (or more!) medications to adequately control their blood pressure.  When is your next appointment with your primary care physician?
I wish you all the best in your journey in getting healthier!

Blood pressure readings can vary widely and the proper way to take it for the most accurate reading is at rest for 5 minutes at least, seated with both feet on the ground and with an appropriate size cuff.  The blood pressure should be taken once and then repeated every few minutes until there are two readings with the systolic BP (upper number) of the readings being withing 10 and the diastolic (lower number) within 5.  This is much more involved than blood pressure readings usually are.  There are so many factors which can cause tranient elevations and decreases in BP and as a result improperly taken BP as a single reading is likely to be minimally useful.
