  1. I live in DC metro area and the company I work for is HQ'ed in Cambridge (Boston).  I'm up there and NYC frequently!  I can vouch for it being expensive.

But I could never live in Boston year round.  I'm a wuss when it comes to the cold.  So I can't handle Boston winters... I would have to be a snow bird!

  2. It's unusual but not necessarily unheard of.  At the end of the day, if you don't feel comfortable with sharing it, don't.

I've seen a couple people ask, but not require it.  (And I've seen more providers than I care to admit!)  Remember...  at the end of the day, the person on the other side doesn't know what to expect either.  Most seasoned/professional providers won't bother asking and just go with the flow.  Some newer and/or younger providers are of the Grinder era where swapping photos is a common thing.  Some might even be trying to turn their sex life into a revenue stream.

When is an account no longer considered new?

This depends on the level of activity on the site and of the reputation of the IP address/email used during registration.

I dynamically score risk based on several factors that can adjust the length of time before a member automatically promotes out of the Newbie group.

  4. In terms of just overall beauty… I love Boston. In fact, I took a picture there last year while on a sail boat cruise that I ended up making my phone’s Lock Screen image.

In addition, walking along the Charles River is so pretty…image.jpeg

The fall colors there can also be pretty vibrant…image.png

Now… Boston’s gay scene has much to be desired. It’s hard to believe that there is so little in a city that size!  Atlanta has a MUCH better gay nightlife.  Don’t get me wrong… Atlanta has an amazing skyline but there seems to be much more scenic views in Boston for me.

You get a cookie, but you’re gunna have to share it. :)

You remembered the OP which was the hard part!  However if you visit their profile, you could have seen their various topics they created. The person only ever created one topic here so it was pretty easy to find at that point.

The reason you did not find it via search is because the topic is around 8 years old. As we have over 2M posts, in order to keep search super fast… the system archives posts after around 7 years.   Archieving means it's still on the site, but does not appear in the search index itself and is not editable.  It still exists though!

You could still search super old posts via Google (site:companyofmen.org SOMETHING) as an idea.

Hopefully y’all enjoy the trip back in time.

We've made our position clear.  Save yourself the 72 hours... if you're going to file a lawsuit, go ahead and do it now.

I hope your client understands this is going to associate his "real life" name and other associated information with his side gig as HungIvyLeague.  As a lawyer, I'm sure you know how all of that information will need to be linked in order to prove standing, damages, etc.  :)

I forgot to mention it in my email, but on the off chance this lawsuit would proceed, it would also mean that his "clients" StarGZ and VictorXX could also be compelled to testify.  Which would mean they would have their real names associated with hiring escorts as well.  So much for them being discreet gentlemen!

(But again...  that would only happen if I'm actually wrong and those two actually existed.)

See the kind of crazy I get to deal with?

  7. It seems the provider has chosen to have a "lawyer" reach out to us.  Below is the back and forth from the conversation:

    To Whom It May Concern:

I write to place you on notice of the defamatory writings that are being posted on, hosted on, and disseminated by your website and that your disregard of the truth is causing my client significant reputational and monetary losses. Some of these statements appear to have been made by agents (administrators) of yours, more specifically, administrator RadioRob. Defamation involves the making of an untrue statement that causes injury to a person's reputation. These statements are being made without regard for the truth by people with no personal knowledge of their truthfulness. You have been placed on repeated notice of their falsity by people who do have personal knowledge. Those with first-hand knowledge have had their accounts banned and have been denied access to correct the truthfulness of your postings. Your website is engaged in a reckless disregard of the truth, even taking the admittedly extraordinary step of maliciously stating that my client has mental illnesses; and maliciously stating that my client was behind his patrons' posts on your forum. My client provided our law firm proof that he was not behind the posts by users StarGz or VictorXX. My client provided us with psychiatric and psychological evaluations proving that he doesn't have mental illnesses. Your blatant, malicious, knowing, intentional, and wanton disregard for and suppression of the truth make your website, its administrators, and those posting knowing false postings liable for the considerable damages they are inflicting by their untruthful statements regarding my client.

For your information, libel is the written form of defamation by which one disparages another's reputation through written statements. To set forth a claim for defamation under New York law, one must allege that:

    1. the disparaging statement (whether oral or written) is, in fact, false;
    2. that, at the very least, the person making the statement was negligent in doing so; and
    3. that the disparaging statement actually caused damage.

In most situations, damages must be specified. Some statements, i.e., the ones that implicitly tend to injure one's personal or professional reputation, are considered defamatory per se. Statements that are defamatory per se include those which impute chastity or sexual misconduct; those which expose a person to ridicule or contempt; those which call into question financial responsibility or reliability; and those which affect business, office, trade, or profession. With respect to statements which are defamatory per se, the damages to one's reputation is presumed, and, as such, an allegation of special damages is not necessary.

I am in receipt of multiple of my client's patrons who have refuted the statements made and hosted on your website, including patrons behind the accounts StarGz and VictorXX. Your malicious, defamatory conduct is causing my client's reputation to suffer irreparable harm and is resulting in significant economic losses for my client's practice.

    I hereby demand that:

    1. the following threads be deleted from your site:

    https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/141945-ivyleaguejjx-traveling/; and

    2. at the very least, reinstate the accounts of those banned simply for presenting truthful refutations of the slanderous posts you are publicizing; and

    3. allow the verifiable refutations of your own members who have sought to contradict the malicious and ignorant posts by those who are actively defaming my client; and

    3. stop ridiculing or deleting the posts of members who write about their positive experiences with my client; and

    4. refrain from the "unprecedented" targeting of my client's work and dignity; and

    5. permanently cease any future defamation of my client, direct or indirect; and

    5. permanently cease any future defamation of my client to other people including through threads, posts, emails, texts, or direct messages.

If you do not act within the next seventy-two (72) hours to delete your defamatory statements, delete the mentioned threads, and completely cease any future defamation of my client, our firm will institute litigation naming your website, the forum administrators, moderators, and certain members of the forum.

If your site, its members, or administrator RadioRob make any future defamation of my client to other people including through threads, posts, emails, or direct messages, our law firm will institute litigation naming your website, the forum administrators, moderators, and certain members of the forum.

I further demand that you preserve as evidence, any and all internal communications concerning these posts, the identities of any and all parties who were involved in the topics, and in the decisions to post these comments. Should litigation become necessary, our firm will seek to obtain all of this information as part of our discovery requests and intend to use it in court to prove our client's case.

I look forward to your prompt attention and rectification of this matter without the need for embarrassing and costly litigation.

    Best regards,
    David Smith, Esq.

    Hi David!

I tried to find contact information for your law office, however I was not able to find you registered to practice law in the state of New York.  I also could not find you listed in the New York Bar Association.  Could you please provide your registration number along with your office's physical address and phone number?

Also, congratulations on your brand new website.  I saw that the domain itself was just registered today!  I'm sure you'll have your actual web content along here shortly!  I hope it is able to help serve as a great lead generation system for your practice.

Thank you for your prompt response; this address was created for obvious reasons as part of our special affairs/Pro Bono work. I'll be working on this case alongside other lawyers of my firm, but in a few minutes, you'll be receiving a second notice from the lead attorney in this case, Grant Gardner, who will be instituting litigation should you decide not to cooperate. He'll include his registration number, address, and phone number should you have any questions, as he'll be the lead attorney in this case. Thanks for your attention.

    All the best,
    David Smith, Esq.

    And finally my reply:

    Hello,

I have spoken with our lawyer and reviewed this request with him.  We are unable to accommodate your request at this time.  If you feel you have a legal case to be made, please feel free to proceed with your filing.  There are numerous legal standards that would prevent this case from being successful, but in particular 47 USC 230 would especially be problematic for you.

In the mean time, we will also be sharing this and all further communications with our members as I'm sure they would also like to know your client is threatening lawsuits against potential customers.

So...  again, we do not recommend this provider in any way.  He will threaten you with lawsuits from email addresses that were literally just created that day from lawyers that either don't exist or that are licensed to practice law.  When called on it, he provides another lawyer's name that has just recently had his law license suspended and works for a firm that does wealth management.  (Needless to say, nothing to do with the topic at hand.)  I have the phone number to call the firm directly, but at this point I can't be bothered to waste my time anymore.

    image.jpeg

There are so many things factually wrong with the arguments made with the statements made by the "lawyers" above, I'm fairly confident the provider is simply posing as one in order to scare the site into his list of demands.  The list of demands themselves already should in itself be enough to tell you it's not a real lawyer making the request.

  8. While in FLL this week, one of the dancers at LeBoy mentioned a new strip club in Miami called Krave.  It's promoting itself as an "anything goes" kind of place for both women and men.  Fridays are more about the women, and Saturday is more men...  but there are both each night.  (The ratio on Saturday was about a little over a dozen guys and a couple of women dancers.)

Yes...  it's a fully nude club.  And it's VERY close to MIA airport.  It's definitely a "late night" club... it opens at 11PM on Saturday and runs till 5AM.  So it's not going to appeal to those early birds.  I was at Johnsons from 6-8, then from 8 till around 11:15 at Leboy.  That put me at Krave around midnight.  It's around 30 miles from Wilton Manor area.

    image.jpeg

About a little more than half of the dancers are from Giovanni's parties at Boardwalk.  His Twitter has some videos from the last event and just some photos of other dancers:

They had a selection of twinks, guy next door, and some more muscular guys.  My personal favorite dancer was River, but he not have any photos and it was his first time working in the clubs.  He's never been to FLL, but looked AMAZING.  A little big to be a Twink, and a little small to be a real muscle guy....  so I suppose the right term is "twunk"?  (Pardon me, still need to fan myself thinking of him.)  I really hope he makes his way up into FLL somewhere and introduced him to Charles (who owns Leboy).

The venue itself looks fantastic inside.  This was only their second week, and they're still working out the "new business" issues.  The drink prices were all over the place depending on the bartender.  My first drink (vodka/soda) was nearly $20...  but from a different bartender, I had two drinks (vodka/soda and vodka/cran) for the same price.  The second round from the same bartender was like 40 cents different.  <shrug>. Make sure to specify the brand of liquor you want, as the bartenders seem to default to higher brands from just watching a bit on the side.

There is free parking in a lot across the street and some street parking in the area.  It's not in a super nice neighborhood, but was fine.  I did not feel unsafe.  The club had lots of security out front, and there is also valet parking on-site ($10).  They did not charge cover when I was there last week, but from what some of the dancers were saying if/when it starts getting popular, it might be added later and the guess was to be around $20 to get in if it happens.

In terms of private dances...  this is still very new and a work in progress.  MOST of the dancers did not even know how they worked.

There are apparently multiple types of private dances available...  the first type was no house fee, just whatever you and the dancer agree to (most are used to $20 a song).  There is a small room off to the side of the bar that has two curtain entrances that are fully closed.  There were 3 chairs inside.  You and the dancer pick a chair and the dancer is fully nude.  Technically it's a shared room, so other dancers could have dances in those other two chairs, so not fully private.  The rumor is they're going to segment that area a bit more later.

There is another more full private dance in a 100% solo room upstairs.  It's not ready yet, and no one could confirm an actual price for me... but the word was it's a 100% private experience once it's ready.  I would expect those to include a house fee and a dancer fee.

While I was sitting around by myself watching the entertainment, the GM...  Lauren came up to me and gave me a free drink ticket.  She said it was because she loved my hair (which is currently a light blue color).  We had a chance to chat for a bit.  She says since they're in Hialeah, they're not tied to the same rules the clubs in FLL are and they're able to do a lot more.  She wants it to be an open/inclusive place for anyone that has any types of fetishes, etc.  I saw a guy with his "pup" on a leash walking through, another who wore somewhat of a halloween costume, etc.

    From their website:

    image.jpeg

Overall, I think the club has a ton of potential.  It's awesome seeing something basically replace Floppy Rooster in that neighborhood.  Loved most of the dancers and loved the venue itself.  My biggest complaint or area for improvement is basically behind the bar.   I would certainly go back again though!

  9. Generally for me, I use the term when I've seen the person at least twice, and I would continue seeing them again should the circumstances work out.

I generally don't see anyone on a specific time schedule.  It might be a month, or it might be a year later.  There is one that I've seen 3 times, but it's been each time I happened to be in his city.

  11. Depending on the airline, it's possible to add a "code word" to the reservation to make changes to it.

Some airlines offer special precautions to prevent a stranger from changing or canceling your flight.

While it's not a perfect system, it's at least increases the level of difficulty and reduces the chances of someone just changing the RSVP without your knowledge.

Just to play devil's advocate, I have had several providers (only in Europe) who I hired (and paid) for an hour and they finished in 30 minutes.  When I confronted them about it, they say "Oh, my rate is up to an hour, if I finish in 30 minutes then, you get 30 min".  I mean I would never ask for a 30 min session, but people here saying that a provider can't be done in 30, well... it can be done.

My general concept is that I'm not paying for an "activity".  I'm paying for time.  There's other things we can be doing outside of one activity... even if it's laying in bed cuddling and chit chatting for a bit once finished.

Regarding "can't be done" in 30 minutes...  over the years I've learned to never say never when discussing what's possible.  With that said, personally I don't typically walk into a room and get to the main act within the first couple of minutes.  There is typically a little time for pleasantries, the "warm up", the main act, and finally the cool down/wrap up.  While it's possible to cut a few corners, it lessens the overall experience for me.  Trying to do that all within 30 minutes would not be much of an experience at all.
