I am confused by the cóctel of anecdotal and actual statistical information in this thread. If anyone wants to share what their family members did or any personal experience, great! Thanks for sharing. But all that experience is useless for making broader generalizations.
About what seems to be actual statistics, a couple of questions:
@Lucky, what is your source for the 75/25% breakdown of hetero/homo molesters? Even if we have a source, I do not see the information by gender, and in this thread, everyone seems to be talking about male abusers. @pubic_assistance, I do not understand why your last post says that 25% of boys and girls report abuse, and then you jump to talk about homosexual abusers. Knowing that 25% of boys and girls are abused does not tell us anything about the sexual preference and gender of their abusers. I apologize if I am missing anything; I am arriving at this conversation now, and how everyone compares oranges to apples is very confusing. 

I too miss the politics forum but I suspect our volunteer moderators have to spend a lot of time on it

What is the hurry?   Take your time.  Get to know him a bit better.   You mention he is from out of the country, while this is not necessarily an issue there may be reasons related to that which might have him wanting to speed up the process.  I would keep it as casual as you can and certainly no legally binding situations for quite some time.  Even living together can be a bit tricky.

As for someone who did the more recent 8 years in SF the city is never really recovered from 2020. While I was living there pre-2020 rent was the highest in the country, tech was taking over, and the city was full of people trying to make a living and we always talked about when the tech bubble was going to burst and it looks like it finally did. I live in LA and vistied NY and London and those cities have been steadily recovering unlike SF.

People are tired of paying that rent, tons of people work from home and millenials and gen z dont want to work 9-5 M-F schedules.

I still visit SF a lot because my "normal" job brings me back but this month will be my last planned visit to SF hopefully when im back in a year or so things will have settled out.

@Jarrod_Uncutthe rest of us who have businesses check our emails all day long. You're either serious about your job or your not. If you don't check your email, don't list it as a mode of communication.

You can’t please everyone @Jarrod_Uncut, some people just behave weirdly in this industry. It’s futile to try and change other people. I think the solution is to change one’s own perspective of the situation.
At least 50% of requests I receive go nowhere because calendars don’t align, clients think I’m based somewhere other than where I am or the price isn’t right or some other reason (often they’re just asking because they like the idea of a session but can’t get their head around actually going ahead with it). Some ask questions and then disappear off the face of the earth…not even an ‘thanks but not for me’.
All sorts of weird stuff happens such that I simply stop trying to understand or please everyone. If an enquiry turns into a session that’s great, if it doesn’t that’s great too. I get enough business so it’s fine by me.
