JayCeeKy got a reaction from HotWhiteThirties in Reno Gold’s Christmas Present
As someone with a Master's in Social Work, as well as Masters in three other (non-lucrative) academic domains, I know this first-hand.

JayCeeKy got a reaction from HotWhiteThirties in Reno Gold’s Christmas Present
Reno Gold s a good example of how a person can become very successful w/out a degree from Harvard, Yale, or actually ANY college. There was an article in WAPO yesterday that asserted that, according to a recent study, student nurses from some community colleges make more than some master’s degree recipients from Harvard University, and that electrical and power transmission installers with associate degrees from a community college in West Virginia earn $80,400 in their first year, or more than twice the median income of bachelor’s degree recipients generally.
I also agree with those who sense that Reno Gold seems like a great guy, displaying his "assets" in a savvy, marketable manner; and three cheers to his donation of $27,000 to the Elton John Aids Foundation.

A Single Man (2010). With terrific acting from Colin Firth - and beautiful Nicholas Hoult as every gay man's dream college groupie. Based on a novel by Christopher Isherwood it portrays one day (November 30, 1962) in the life of a college professor (George) who has recently lost his longtime partner and is contemplating suicide. And whenever I'm having one of those crappy days I remind myself of what George tells himself on November 30, 1962: "Just get through the goddamn day."

I appreciated his insightful and educated comments. If there really is an "Invisible Hand" may it lift Adam Smith to a place of happiness.

JayCeeKy got a reaction from + Hoover42 in How are you staying in shape?
Walking three miles a day on the treadmill. 5-Minute Arm Workout with 5 lb dumbbells each day. Intermittent Fasting using the 16/8 Method - last meal by 7 p.m. and first meal at 11 a.m. Low carb, high fat diet. Have lost about 11 lbs in the past few weeks (first few days are roughest on IF but body adapts).

JayCeeKy got a reaction from + Lucky in Get your paper here!!! Get your paper.
The Genovese story has undergone quite a bit of revisionism in the past few years. Contrary to the original Post story, several individuals actually did respond to Kitty’s screams that night, coming to her aid and calling the police. Many others who heard the screams thought it was a lovers' quarrel or a drunken brawl. And calling 911 was not available in those days and people were often hesitant to involve themselves with the cops who were not always seen as the Good Guys. The "bystander effect" is a real phenomenon but not totally accurate in the Genovese case.
More to your point, I no longer get the physical newspaper as delivery of the local The Courier-Journal became problematic. I am a faithful online reader of The Courier-Journal, The New York Times, and in recent months The Washington Post, which has become my favorite source of news and commentary.

I hate to break a consensus, but body, always. Genetics control the face, but hard work and perseverance determine the body. Too many "pretty boys" have an attitude, in my experience.

I agree. The "hunt" was most of the fun. Finding a super hot stud leaning up against the wall at Rounds was exhilarating. Anybody remember the big African-American gentleman who sat at the entrance of Rounds?

Local regulations allow people who are seated at tables to take their masks off. If you are standing and waiting you have to keep the mask on inside or outside.

Interesting because @Kenny is still a member here, and always liked you. Until recently Kenny lived close to one of greatest baseball players of all time. Say hey!

Giovanni was nice and Vinn was accommodating. In the end (no pun intended), I went with Kevin (link below) and I'm happy I did. He spent about two hours with me w/out looking at the clock. He may be making an encore appearance this evening.

I dated a film student in LA years ago - one day he told me that Rex Chandler had sent in a headshot to audition for his student film. I saw the headshot and figured out the porn was probably what was keeping him afloat, while he tried to break into Hollywood. His real name escapes me after all these years.

Arquez is the only one who seemed a bit picky about what he would or would not do, though I guess that it's better that an escort let you know that beforehand.

For Apple users, there are rumors that Apple may be updating and improving their so-called "Air Tags" which are similar to "Tiles" but with better accuracy. The Apple reveal is scheduled for March 23.

JayCeeKy got a reaction from + WilliamM in Entertainment 'geniuses' that didn't entertain you at all
I agree - and Bob Hope's barrage of stale ""canned" one-liners got tiresome after a couple of minutes. Johnny Carson stated that without the pre-written material Hope was a total bore. He said that Hope "couldn't ad-lib a fart after a baked bean dinner."

Quick digression, apologies to the OP.
That's literally true. President Eisenhower, known for his frequent golfing trips to the Augusta National Golf Club, hit a certain pine tree on the 17th hole so often he said he thought it should be in his future museum. In 2015 that became a reality when a cross-section of the tree was encased at the Eisenhower Museum in Abiline, Kansas. The Eisenhower Tree had been cut down in 2014 after suffering extensive damage during a major ice storm.
Back to the topic about why you should ALWAYS pay your taxes.
