I was there a few years ago during Pride. I wasn't focused on the timing of the weekend when I scheduled it, it was simply a weekend that worked best for the friends that wanted to gather in NYC during June, so had no Pride expectations for the weekend. I enjoyed the parade, but it was tight to move around once there. If you are going to the parade, bring your own water to stay hydrated.
On both Friday and Saturday nights I attended bars with dancers and lap dance spaces. Because it was Pride, there were several out-of-town dancers visiting to take advantage of it being Pride, so the quality and quantity of dancers was pretty good. And I'm sure some of the musicals will be catering to the gay community - in particular Death Becomes Her features the For the Gaze number that really is 'for the gays.' (I'll stop there to protect the spoilers other than to say the recorded versions of The Tonight Show and Tony Awards performances were truncated for television.)
