I'm hoping to get to Europe in September or October to take advantage of the weak Euro and Pound. I'm waiting till the crazy summer travel is over and airports are somewhat back to normal. Also, I want to get my monkey pox vaccine before I go. I have decided not to have any intimate encounters until after I'm vaccinated.

The above was my experience as well. I renewed 3-4 months ago and received my new card in about six weeks. Done all on-line with no interview required.

Face or neck tattoos? No...full stop! Other tattoos on the body? It depends. One or two are OK but...why ruin a perfectly good body with a bunch of tattoos? I still don't get it.

Agreed. "Muscle gods" means it's Brazil.

I've never had decent Key Lime Pie outside of South Florida. I'm sure it exists somewhere but I've never found it. You must have key limes to make it or it won't be as good as it should be. I lived in Miami during most of the 1990's so I had ample opportunity to enjoy excellent Key Lime Pie. Joe's Sone Crab was my favorite. We still order the KLP from Joe's. It ships overnight via Fedex and is packed in dry ice. So good.

As far as I recall, Stock has not had afternoon hours for many years. They open at 8:00pm. Campus used to have quite an active afternoon scene(starting at 3:00pm) 8-10 years ago and before. But that had reduced substantially even before the pandemic. I have not been to Montreal since before the pandemic, but I've heard that the Campus afternoon scene is very quiet now. Sometimes not a single dancer seen until 6:00pm.

The World News tonight said she was found at the bottom of the stairs in her NYC apartment/condo. Emergency services called. She was declared dead in her home. No immediate evidence of foul play.

Yes.

Her lasting legacy is a brief but cute appearance in First Wives Club.

Just watched a Dateline episode last night about a young college girl in Salt Lake City that ended up being murdered by her Seeking Arrangements date (a former military guy). During the episode it was discussed that quite a few college girls were using SA as an opportunity to earn extra money whilst at school. Caution should always be paramount for both sugardaddy and sugarbaby. I tried SA for 6 months or so before the pandemic. It was a bust for me here in Michigan. Not a whole lot of my type of guys on there (I like athletic jock-types that are very masculine). Whilst my profile was very specific about what I liked, I kept getting messages from skinny fem twink types that I had zero interest in. It's clear they either didn't even read the profile or chose to ignore what I listed as my "likes". 95% of my time on SA was spent sifting through these messages from guys I didn't even find attractive.

Personally, I feel the Fed has mismanaged interest rates for the last 10 years or so...until the recent increases. The Fed rate was kept far too low for far too long...but that's a discussion for a different thread. We survived inflation in the 70's/80's and we will survive it now. Retirees used to live off of the interest earned on their CD deposits in the 70's/80's. They were pissed when that ended as interest rates fell! I did substantial travel to Brazil/Argentina in the 80's/90's when both countries experienced hyperinflation. You learn to live with it. BTW, the US is no-where near a hyperinflationary situation. All things staying equal, I suspect the high inflation rate just reported for June will be relatively short-lived. Energy prices are dropping. If that continues, other prices will go down to a degree. The US economy remains strong. Unemployment is low. Indeed we need more workers. Obviously, global factors out of our control can have an impact on inflation. I am not too worried about it but I maintain a watchful eye.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll consider Hadestown as well. Good to know whichever way I go it's going to be good. Thanks!

I'm doing a theatre visit to NYC this weekend. I'm not seeing Funny Girl thanks to this forum...thanks for the advice. I'm seeing Company and Moulin Rouge for sure. Trying to decide between Mr. Saturday Night and Into The Woods for the other show. Thoughts?

I've thought that the Euro was over-valued for many years. I think parity with the dollar is about right where it should be. I also see a trip to Europe in my future later in the year. BTW the British pound has also lost a lot of value recently which makes the UK cheaper for Americans.

"Gone but not forgotten", what fellow posters do you miss?
EZEtoGRU replied to + glutes's topic in The Lounge
Avalon was a PITA on here. After being banned here he moved to the other site. His health seemed to deteriorate and I recall him moving into a nursing home of some sort. That was pre-COVID. He hasn't posted on that other site for several years. I suspect he is in a better place now. -

Strange. I don't miss he or Tasso at all. -
Yeah. No skin to be seen anywhere. Not a single photo of an actual person. Strange😕.

Advice for a newbie investor?

While interesting, this hardly sounds like advice for a newbie investor. Please be mindful of the topic at hand. -
Swingin Richards Atlanta all-male, all-nude club to close Jan. 15

I agree with this. My last two visits to SR's (2018 and 2019) were a waste of time. Plenty of dancers...but very low quality. There were one or two decent looking guys but the rest were not attractive to me at all. I took a pocketful of cash with me on both visits and never spent any of it other than on drinks. During it's last 3-4 years of operation, SR's was living off it's prior reputation rather than based on the talent currently on offer. You can only do that for so long before people figure out it's not worth going any more. -
Just back from a quick 3-day trip to Houston. No-one in Texas is wearing masks...anywhere. Also on the plane and in airports, virtually no-one is masking. I saw one other person on the plane with a mask on...other than me. Separately, COVID hospitalizations in Michigan have started dropping again. They had more than doubled from the end of March till mid-May and then have gradually started coming down again. COVID deaths have also started dropping. They had increased from end-April to late May before gradually dropping again. COVID hospitalizations and deaths definitely increased in Michigan after the restrictions were dropped. Let's see what happens in the fall and winter.

The Formula 1 in Montreal is also this coming weekend. Always a busy weekend in the city with hotel prices through the roof.

Way back in the day (1980's), JP's in Windsor was a great male strip club. Toronto/Montreal strippers regularly appeared there along with locals. It was an excellent club for it's day and Michiganders frequently travelled there to enjoy. Cross border travel was easy then with only a drivers license required. Later the Happy Tap bar opened in Windsor. It was never as good as JP's in my opinion. It was a regular gay bar on the main level with the male strip club action in the basement. I don't know how long it lasted before it closed...but I think it was well before the pandemic started.

None that I am aware of. The Gold Coast had been around for decades but closed before the pandemic. TBH, it had become a lousy establishment for the last 5-6 years of it's life. Low quality talent. Mostly drugged up twinks. I longed for the days in the 90's and 2000's when it was the premier strip-club in the midwest...even surpassing anything that Chicago had.

What was the first thing that ever made you feel “old”?
EZEtoGRU replied to + 7829V's topic in The Lounge
The first time I felt old was the first time I got a boss that was younger than me. I was 41/42 at the time. The new boss was around 35. Up until then, I was successful at work and I was always considered the young guy doing great things. Promotions and raises came...until they didn't. I hated having a younger boss. To make matters worse, he wasn't a very good boss. I continued working for another 7-8 years and then retired at 49. I'm 62 now and when I look in the mirror I don't recognize myself. LOL. -
I mostly agree with Ben here. On-board service is very mediocre on AA. I attribute it partially to union work rules and protections (AA FA's are rewarded primarily based on seniority not based on performance) but I also blame very low food and beverage budgets for the F & J cabins. There is virtually no truly premium alcohol served in AA first class. It's mostly the same stuff you buy on board back in economy. They do carry some decent wines sometimes in long-haul first/business class. The food options in first are uninspiring. No caviar. No lobster. No Kobe beef. Those are the sort of options a real long-haul first class product should be offering. I don't particularly blame the training they receive. AA understands what a true first class experience should be but I think they are resigned to the fact that it isn't possible with the current FA union protections. As to the state of the current BA, Ben is also correct that BA has become the British version of AA. Their J cabin is to be avoided at all cost due to the cabin layout (although I agree with Ben that the few aircraft with the redesigned J cabin are almost certainly better). Even the F experience on BA had become lackluster years back. I have not been on BA for awhile so I cannot speak of how things are now. However I did fly in BA F from LHR to ORD in October 2019. The cabin itself was very drab and uninspiring. The food was just like on AA...nothing special. The on-board service was mixed. The one flight attendant took pride in her job and was very friendly/attentive. The other was not the least bit interested. He just wanted to get to Chicago ASAP. My main enjoyment from that flight was it was a 747 (my favorite widebody aircraft) and I cherish having been able to fly her again. BA has since retired all their 747's. Anyway, BA F class has really fallen in the last 4-5 years to become just like AA. I believe the only European carriers where one can still get a real first class long-haul experience is on AF and LH. The other European carriers either no longer offer an F cabin (KL/IB/TP) or they have an imposter F class (BA).
