In the wake of the 2007/2008 financial crisis & great recession, tighter regulations were imposed on banks via the Dodd-Frank bill that was signed into law in 2010. One aspect of the new law was the implementation of annual "stress tests" on many banks. In 2018, the prior administration (with congressional approval) rolled back some of these regulations. Without getting into the politics of all this, I think it's fair to say this rollback will likely be the subject of some scrutiny as a result of the recent bank collapses.

I have been generally displeased with the delivery of primary medical care in the last three states I have lived: Florida, Texas, and now Michigan. Long waits for appointments, long waits at the doctor's office (multiple hours in some cases), rushed appointments, incompetent support staff at the doctor's offices. I had first heard about concierge medicine when I was living in Houston. When I moved back to Michigan in 2016, I explored the possibility of getting a concierge doctor here. I can afford the annual subscription fee but the problem here is that there are few concierge options. Certainly there were none available within a 1 hour drive from where I live. There seemed to be a good option in Ann Arbor linked to The University of Michigan Medical Center (probably the top medical facility in Michigan). However that was over a two hour drive from where I live so didn't seem very practical. I think that concierge medicine is an interesting option to take care of your primary care if you can find one and can afford it.

I was at Johnson's again this week on Tuesday & Wednesday. Tuesday was very quiet considering Florida is now in high season. They didn't even have a bartender working in the main stage room bar...which surprised me. In any case I had a good time. There were maybe 12 dancers working so enough to have some variety. Wednesday was totally different. Very busy. SRO at a few points during the evening. I'd say about 20 dancers were working. There were at least five guys from Argentina. One of them was a young guy from Cordoba. Very good looking, muscular, and with a beard. Also, he had one of the most beautiful asses I have ever seen in my life. Wow!! One trend I noticed that I'm happy about is that more dancers seem to be letting their pubic hair grow. Maybe not full bush but the hair was there at the top of the pubic area. I love that. Of course there were still plenty of completely shaved guys for those that like that. Thank you Cordoba Argentina for the handsome guy with the beautiful ass. A true work of art!

TBH I don't know today. My experience is from 10 years ago when I had a close friend living there. Also my comment was not related to trade/professionals. I was referring to the guys you would see there in general. I'm always happy if there are military guys around.

I would say San Diego. It seems nearly everyone is in great shape. Another plus is all the military guys that are there.

I think the moral of the story is to not trust that anyone that is”undetectable” is actually taking their meds as prescribed. you need to protect yourselves y’all!! Assume everyone is poz.

I don't really know. The individuals are acquaintances I see from time to time when I go to Houston. All I know is they say they take a hiatus from their meds "to give their body a break". I don't know how often or for how long or why? How many of the HIV meds today are still pill-form versus injections? If they are injections and are given by doctors it seems it would be harder to simply stop taken them. Presumably the doctor would be after the patient to get the injections. I don't really know how they are administered today.

I know undetectable gay men that purposely stop taking their HIV meds from time to time because they want to give their body a break from the meds. How long does this go on for? I don't know. At what point do their HIV virus levels start going up again? I don't know. How long does it take them before they are infectious again? I don't know. There's one thing I do know...there's no way in hell I'm gonna trust someone that is HIV undetectable to do the right thing and take their meds as they're supposed to.

I think closing the politics forum is ultimately a good thing. Back in the summer when this possibility was being discussed, I expressed that I thought it should be shut down for a variety of reasons. I’m totally good with it.

I agree that he is not that handsome (in the face). Nice bod. Bad acne on the back (or more likely steroid back issues). The tattoos are awful...but that seems to be par for the course these days.

The Detroit Institute of Arts has this wonderful exhibit running currently. I believe this is the last week. Anyway, I visited today and very much enjoyed it. Spain is an Art Museum paradise. I have to say I found the Prado overwhelming. Spectacular...but overwhelming. So many religious paintings. Just not for me.

HaHa. It's true she is frequently late to start her shows. I have seen her four times in concert but only one time was she seriously late. It was The Sticky and Sweet Tour stop in Houston. The show started over two hours late and people were getting pissed off. Her most recent Madame X Tour (Sept 2019-March 2020) was plagued with endless problems. She had to cancel many performances due to on-going health problems (knee and hip pain I believe) and many of the shows that did go on had starting delays of two hours or more. The last few shows of the tour in Paris were cancelled due to COVID...not under her control. I hope she has resolved her physical ailments and time management skills prior to starting this tour. I'm undecided about whether I will attend this tour. I'm going to wait to see the setlist and the reviews from the first few shows till I decide. I do wish her well though.

I'm glad your trip on AF was nice. They can be very good. I assume you were not connecting at CDG....hence no bus to get you to the smaller plane to a different European city. The widebody arrivals often get preference for the gates with jet bridges.

Fauci deserves praise over and over for his contributions during the AIDS crisis and later for his work during the COVID crisis. I am in awe of and grateful for Dr. Fauci. He will be missed greatly now that he is retired. Newsflash: There's still no cure for AIDS...how many decades later?

They certainly did. It used to be on Sunday nights. It used to be at the gay male strip clubs in Montreal (think Stock and Campus) ladies generally were not admitted except on "ladies night". However the policy started evolving even before COVID to allow ladies at any time. This seems to reduce the need of having an official "ladies night".

I just wrapped up a three-day visit to Montreal. My last visit was pre-pandemic. I only went to the stripper clubs two of the days: Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday at Stock was ladies night. It was pretty quiet with only three dancers: Ryan, Bran, and a guy I did not recognize. I had fun with Ryan and Bran plus with the sexy straight bartender Alex. We laughed about all the good times we had had prior to the pandemic. I also spent some time over at Campus on Wednesday. It was more lively than Stock with 10-12 dancers. I saw former Stock dancer Jordan (Kai at Campus) and we hung out a little bit and reminisced about the old days when he was a dancer at Stock. Another surprise at Campus on Wednesday was that former Stock dancer Thierry is the weekday manager now. I almost didn't recognize him as he wears glasses now and he is much smaller than previously. Probably off the steroids...which is a good thing. All in all a good time on Wednesday. It started snowing early Friday morning and continued all day. I went to Campus Friday afternoon around 4:30pm. There were about 5 inches of snow on the ground by that point. A few dancers started arriving around 6:00pm but most didn't start arriving till closer to 8:00/8:30pm. I again hung out with Jordan (Kai). I did see former Stock dancer Phillipe come in the bar but he went straight upstairs. I didn't make it to Stock on Friday as I wanted to get to bed at a reasonable time for an early Saturday flight. I stayed at the W Hotel in the Square Victoria area of the city. Very comfortable with a good breakfast. I was surprised cause the hotel seemed quite busy with a large business group staying there. All in all, I had a good time in Montreal. I currently have no plans to return until it gets a bit warmer...perhaps in May.
