  1. Madonna's last official show on The Celebration Tour took place last weekend in Mexico City. About a month ago, she announced she would do a final show in Rio on Copacabana Beach. It will be free and looks to be an enormous undertaking as 1.5 million fans are expected for the show. I hope it all goes off safely. I assume everyone attending will have to go through heavy security checks. Madonna arrived in Rio on Monday morning and is staying at The Copacabana Palace. Here is a video showing some of the stage preparations: Anybody going?
  2. That may well be...but I do know that plenty of Jewish deli restaurants offer Mac & Cheese.
  3. Really? I've been to many Jewish Deli Restaurants that offered Mac & Cheese...useually as a side dish.
  4. I do agree with this. I really enjoy some international foods (ie Indian, Thai, Mexican) that use spices we are not accustomed to in traditional US cuisine as long as the level of heat is not too high. However, food that is overly hot is not appealing to me. Some foods are spiced so overly hot that the flavor of the dish gets lost in the heat. Only my opinion of course. To me, there are some hot sauces and chili that greatly enhance the heat level without actually contributing much to the foods flavor.
  5. Here's another example of the spicy food conundrum. I'm currently on a Delta flight back to Michigan. Along with the main course, a small salad was also on the tray for my lunch. They provided a tiny bottle of Spicy Tomato/Chili salad dressing to pour on top. No non-spicy alternative was available. I'm not picky about salad dressings. I can eat French/Ranch/Thousand Island/Blue Cheese/Oil & Vinegar/Many others....but I don't want spicy dressing on my salad. I did use the dressing on the salad but frankly I do not desire my salad to be spicy. Very irritating.
  6. I did not comment on it to the server. There were little red flecks in the dish that I assume were some kind of chili pieces.
  7. I was at a nice Jewish Deli today in the downtown area of Ft. Lauderdale. It’s called The Top Hat. I’ve been multiple times in the past and have always enjoyed it. Today I had the Matzo Ball Soup (Excellent!) and a nosh plate of Mac N Cheese. Nothing on the menu suggested the Mac N Cheese would be served with some spicy kick to it…and being a Jewish Deli I certainly didn’t expect it. But it was spicy. Having been raised in the Midwest in the 60s, spicy foods really weren’t part of our regular diet. Mac N Cheese certainly was never spicy. I guess I got a nostalgic thinking about how our cuisine is evolving in the US. We can’t expect standard American fare (think Mac N Cheese, Meatloaf, Pot Pie) to be made in a tradition way anymore. So many things are served spicy now. Everyone serves hot chicken now. So many salty snacks have red hot versions. There’s a gazillion different brands of hot sauce at the grocery store. Im sure this is all a consequence of more international influence on our cuisine…particularly from Asia and Mexico. Of course nothing stays static. There is always evolution and I really do enjoy the much wider variety of foods we have available to us now compared to the 1960s. But sometimes you just want to have a traditional Mac and Cheese like mom used to make. It’s getting harder and harder to find😢. By the way, I do recommend The Top Hat. Most of the food is solid there. I’ll go back there again and again. Just not for the Mac N Cheese. 8. Cher was previously on record saying she wouldn’t want to be in the RARHOF if they paid her. Apparently she is now backtracking on that comment. Cher said she wouldn't want to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Now she's being inducted | Salon.com WWW.SALON.COM "I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars," the singer said previously in December
  9. There must be something about Cabaret on Broadway that gets people going. Back in 2014, Shia LeBeouf grabbed Alan Cumming's ass during a performance of Cabaret as well. Alan Cumming Shares What Really Happened Before Shia LaBeouf's 'Cabaret' Arrest - ABC News ABCNEWS.GO.COM Last week, Shia LaBeouf explained that a boozy afternoon full of misadventures led to his arrest during a Broadway production pf "Cabaret."
  10. The latest inflation report is not a huge deal. Look…inflation is way down from where it was. The final push to get it to target levels will be a slog. As long as oil stays high, it will be slow-going.
  11. Wasn't Berlin a very large club? Not sure that's well-suited to become a male strip club if so.
  12. Now that’s interesting. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I don’t think we’ll have to wait long…it seems Matt is already moving to Chicago.
  13. Things seem to be moving fast regarding the Chicago location. Matt's FB page indicates they are already looking to hire dancers/bar staff/etc. That suggests to me that an opening might be just a few weeks away. I have no inside info, but I'm going with the rumor that they are taking over the Horseshoe. Matt was in Chicago recently and he did visit the Lucky Horseshoe during his visit.
  14. It's reported that traffic was stopped in both directions before the bridge collapse. However, there were some workers on the bridge at the time filling potholes and it seems they ended up in the water. Several but not all were rescued. It's also reported that multiple cars went in the water as well. If traffic had been stopped, they may have been the worker's cars that had been parked on the bridge.
  15. Eureka Springs seems pretty remote. I'm sure it's lovely for a 2-3 day visit but I would start to get fidgety after that. The closest decent sized city is Tulsa which is more than a two hour drive from what I can tell...and Tulsa doesn't even qualify as a big city IMO. So big city life is pretty far away if you're yearning for culture/sports/etc.
  16. Well I wonder what all this means? I guess we'll have to wait and see. So what happens on the other nights? More drag is my prediction.
  17. There is an announcement on the Stock Website indicating: We Listened May 2024 CONTROL/ALT/REFRESH Anyone know what is changing? Also, it seems that Monday is now drag night.
  18. One lousy inflation report does not make a crisis. Let’s see how the trend goes in the coming months. Recoveries from inflation are almost never completely linear. There will be bumps in the road which are normal and expected.
  19. I saw that too. Matt’s Facebook page shows he was just in Chicago visiting numerous bars…including the Lucky Horseshoe. Based on Matt’s postings, a future Atlanta location seems further down the path…but I guess we’ll see. I’ll be thankful to have a non-Florida location to see hot guys shake their stuff and spend my gay $ at.
  20. It was not the Happy Tap...it was JR's and I went there numerous times in the 1980's. Totally different location and on the riverfront. It preceded the Happy Tap and was a much better and busier club with Toronto and Montreal talent rotating through regularly. Oh....the good old days.
  21. Ah yes...our former poster from California who claimed he was a retired medical doctor. I never really believed he was a medical professional. He dished out such dodgy medical advice on Mpox and COVID...it was scandalous. Anyway, I got the Mpox vaccine early on when it first appeared and I highly recommend it. I had no side-affects.
  22. Further to this, I see on the Stock website they have a video of him dancing at the club on Febuary 16th. So he does still dance there.
  23. I took Brightline from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale last week. My Premium ticket cost $32. A Premium Class ticket entitles you to an Uber ride to your departing station and from your arriving station (I think there is a five mile limit for each segment). I made use of Uber on both ends with the costs being fully covered by Brightline. According to their calculations, the Uber costs were just over $30. If this is accurate, that means my resulting train fare in Premium Class was $2. BTW, the Premium ticket entitled me to an alcoholic beverage and a small snack (potato chips and a candy bar). I declined both but I could have had them if I wanted. How is Brightline making any money? I'd be interested in seeing their financials. Who is funding this project? FWIW, the train seemed only about 10% full on this segment. After Lauderdale, my train was stopping in Palm Beach and then Orlando. This was my 4th time on Brightline and none of the trips have been very full. I hope they can make a go of this...but I really wonder.
  24. Correct! And many of them insist they don’t pay enough in taxes.
