  1. The Detroit Tigers had Ausmus as Manager for several years. Sexy as hell but a lousy manager.
  2. I did have to look up snowballing. Lol.
  3. Recent news reports suggest multiple retail/grocery stores are removing self-checkout and re-instituting more cashiers. They claim self-checkout results in more honest mistakes, more theft/shoplifting, and more technical problems. i know at our local CVS, they seem to be having more technical problems with self-checkout lately which results in a cashier having to come over and fix the problem. It’s getting very frustrating. I don’t mind using self-checkout if I don’t have to weigh things. Our local small grocer doesn’t have self-checkout so not an issue there. Anyway, keep a lookout for your local self-checkout option being removed😉. Target is testing a new self-checkout policy | CNN Business WWW.CNN.COM Target is testing a new self-checkout policy as retailers are finding the cashier-less...
  4. Gasoline prices falling is good news: Gas prices are tumbling, just in time for Thanksgiving | CNN Business WWW.CNN.COM Slug: oil refinery 08282023
  5. Walmart CEO predicts food deflation is on the horizon: New YorkCNN — Lower grocery prices may soon be coming for shoppers. Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said Thursday that the US food industry may be heading into a period of deflation after three years of punishing price hikes that have caused sticker shocker for shoppers at the grocery store. Food prices have increased 25% since the pandemic started. “We may see dry grocery and consumables start to deflate in the coming weeks and months,” McMillon said. Walmart could enter “a deflationary environment.” Walmart is the largest retailer in the United States, and groceries make up more than half of its sales.
  6. The man on the street was celebrating today considering the market surged. Sadly, some posters here desperately want a recession and increasing inflation. Of course their motivations are sadly obvious. Not to worry. We are on the right track in dealing with the COVID/Ukraine-borne inflation problem felt globally. BTW, I paid $2.99/gallon for gas in Michigan today. That's also worth celebrating🙂.
  7. Yet more positive news comes out today regarding slowing inflation. The market is now celebrating! Stocks rally Tuesday on soft inflation data, Dow jumps 300 points STOCKS.APPLE.COM Stocks surged Tuesday as investors cheered the latest U.S. consumer price index report.
  8. Just a quick update. Madonna's Celebration Tour continues to travel around Europe. She played in Lisbon last night. The setlist appears to be nearly identical to her first London show about a month ago...so no re-vamp of the show numbers seems to have occurred. Commentary is that some shows have started late (including the Lisbon show last night). They are citing technical issues as the culprit but whether that's really the cause...who knows?
  9. You can say that again! And it's not just a problem in Vegas. Everywhere you go these days, service sucks countrywide: on planes, in hotels, at restaurants, and in stores. There is zero sense of customer service...even at higher end businesses. It's a sad commentary on life in the USA today.
  10. Jobs numbers this week were below expectations. Payrolls generally seen to be under control. As ICTJOCK says, the economy is still buzzing. Inflation is much lower than one year ago so the trend line is good. I would say things are pretty darn good economically.
  11. Thanks. I guess I'll wait on buying tickets for one of the US gigs until I see what the reworked show looks like...if it gets reworked.
  12. Is any of this actually true? I just looked at the setlist for her last show in Stockholm and it looks pretty similar to the first London show several weeks ago. Also, I have not seen any confirmation that she is shortening her tour. What's the real story?
  13. Looks very hot. I can’t reconcile his handle name which includes the word “bull” with the fact that he describes himself as a “versatile bottom”. For me, “bull” means a total top fucking machine. In my mind a bull cannot be a versatile bottom. Seems to me that one or the other isn’t accurate.
  14. Your're right...not bad for her. I've also seen her multiple times and the last time (Sticky & Sweet Tour) in Houston, she was 2 hours late. Not good. I think I'll wait for a few more weeks to see if she is more or less sticking to the scheduled showtime. If she is, I'll get tickets. Still good seats available in the resale market. Thanks
  15. Did the show start on time? One of the complaints on her last few tours was that some of the shows started well past the scheduled start time…like hours late. im happy with the setlist but I won’t get tickets until I know her timekeeping is better on this tour.

    Still too much...yuck.
  17. Thanks for review. I really appreciate it.
  18. Let us know your thoughts once you see it. I’m curious if you enjoyed it. Thanks!
  19. I got the Pfizer COVID vaccine today. I had the flu shot about a week ago. I’m undecided on RSV.
  20. I just paid 3.09/gallon for regular gasoline yesterday at Costco in the Detroit area. That’s about 50 cents a gallon less than a week ago. Huge drop! Anyone else seeing much cheaper gas in their area? im kind of surprised it’s gone down so much so quickly especially given the upheaval in the Middle East.
  21. A 3.2% increase sounds roughly about right. Pretty much aligned with current inflation. Much less of an increase compared to this years increase…but inflation has dropped dramatically in the last 12 months.
  22. There’s something more behind the slap seen round the world. It was recently reported that,at some point, Chris Rock asked Jada out on a date and she declined. Will probably knew about this and it factored into his decision to slap Rock.
  23. I mostly take Jamie Dimon's comments with a grain of salt. He has been preaching an upcoming recession for three years now...and it still hasn't happened. Having said that, I do expect one more quarter point rate increase before the end of the year. That may be the end of the increases if inflation continues falling. Recent economic reports continue to be good. Last week's jobs report totally busted through expectations.
  24. Well I am a 70's/80's hard rock fan. Still going to shows of Aerosmith, Kiss, Alice Cooper, etc. Have seen every big rock act over the years: The Who, Zeppelin, Stones, Yes, Frampton, Seager, Van Halen, Iggy Pop, Jethro Tull, ACDC, Elton John...the list goes on and on. I also had a Punk Rock/New Wave phase in the 80's. That was huge fun. To be honest, I like almost every genre of music out there. Just saw Gaga in Vegas on Wednesday night: Superb! The only music I really don't like is country. Some crossover country rock or pop is tolerable...but the majority of core country music it is just crap. Most of the songs sound the same to me: Twang twang twang. My message to the OP is enjoy your rock and metal!!
  25. I watch the Stock live internet feed quite frequently. I’ve noticed two things different in the last month or so: 1. Many fewer women around…even on weekends. Have they instituted a new policy on females at the club? 2. DJ “I love my job” has not been around at all. There has been a new pretty ineffective DJ working for weeks now. Is the former DJ no longer working there?
