I mostly hire massuers and enjoy a mix of regulars and new guys. I have found, however, that lately I've been leaning more towards exploration. I will have an excellent experience with someone and then try someone new instead of hiring him again. There are multiple local guys I'd like to see again, despite not making an effort to do so. I also frequently focus on traveling providers.

If you eroticize massage, as many of us here do, the table provides the mystery that makes the encounter exciting. What will happen--and when? Or will nothing happen? Or will everything? The table establishes a therapeutic base from which there can be a natural progression to sensual and erotic. If the massage starts on a bed, the assumption is that it's going to turn into sex--and if it doesn't, there can be a feeling of disappointment.

I've only done a futon on the floor once and it was for a sensual massage training course rather than a massage though I think the guy teaching the course did usually massage like that.
It was supposed to be learning sensual masage without crossing a line into any sexual activity. I only met the other guy on the course when I arrived for the session but being on the floor did make it more intimate and we came very close to doing more. We were both hard and so was the trainer for a lot of it. It seemed to work better than a bed.

I have only hired on rent masseur and think I have a good sense of which guys have any kind of massage skills.  The sensual/erotic aspects of the massage should, in my view, be integrated into the entire experience.   And the best providers know how to do that.  For me, one essential requirement is possession of a proper massage table.   I always ask, as that signals that the provider has taken the trouble to learn a few skills.   The pressure is way better.  There is better comfort for the head and neck.  And then there is always that lovely moment when he works on your neck and shoulders and you get some close and enticing views.   Massages on beds are terrible, and can be very uncomfortable.  I had one once, and never again.  A few months ago I visited Japan and experienced a massage on the floor -- with a mat and a head cushion.   After a while I got used to it, and the guy really knew what he was doing.   And when I turned over and things heated up, there wasn't that awkward feeling that he was going to fall on the floor.  So, I may have been a bit too strict about insisting on a table.   I might have missed it, but I didn't see any other discussion on this forum of this subject.  So I'd be would be interested in other views.

    Always on a table.
I've only done a massage on a bed once and although yes it allowed the extras to flow better it wasn't comfortable and the massage itself wasn't as good as when he'd previously done it on a table.
I usually book qualified masseurs who are open to more but even when I book those on the more sensual/erotic side I'm looking for a decent massage plus it's a lot easier to have an exciting erotic experience on a table than a good comfortable massage on a bed.

    Erotic
Erotic massage is a sensual and intimate form of massage that focuses on heightening pleasure and arousal. It transcends the boundaries of traditional massage techniques by incorporating sensual touches, stimulating the erogenous zones, and promoting a deep connection between the giver and receiver. At its core, erotic massage is about exploring sensuality and intimacy in a safe and consensual environment.
It involves slow, deliberate movements that aim to awaken the senses and ignite the erotic energy within the body. The massage typically begins with gentle strokes and caresses, gradually building up to more intense sensations.
One of the key elements of erotic massage is the emphasis on relaxation and mindfulness. Both the giver and receiver are encouraged to be fully present in the moment, letting go of any distractions or inhibitions. This allows for a deeper connection to be formed, creating a profound sense of intimacy and trust between the two individuals.
The use of scented oils and candles can further enhance the experience, tantalizing the senses with delightful aromas and creating a sensual atmosphere. Soft music playing in the background can also help set the mood, adding to the overall ambiance of the massage.
Erotic massage is not just about physical pleasure; it is also a deeply emotional and spiritual experience. It can help individuals explore their desires and fantasies in a safe and supportive environment, fostering a greater sense of self-awareness and acceptance.

The subtle touches. The brushes of the hand. The aching I feel when the guy just works on my back and seems to be avoiding my butt. All that is what makes a sensual massage so much fun. Wish there were guys in my area that really interested me. Too damn picky, I suppose.

In my experience, good and bad masseurs are all over the place and in every venue. I've had both awesome and terrible massage therapists in pretty much every setting, RM, MF, hanging on the streets, hotel SPAs, private SPAs, bath houses, everywhere. I could not tell that there's a specific setting that will guarantee a good quality massage.
    Just my experiences, not law.

simongayx reacted to DunwoodyGuy in Massage question: switching positions?
In my experience, a request like that would break the mood and change the dynamic: If he slips his dick into your willing mouth during the massage, then he's controlling how erotic it gets. If you get up from the table and climb between his legs and start sucking him, it becomes an escort session for which he deserves a higher fee. Alternatively, you could ask the masseur in advance for a rate that includes sucking his dick. (Or hire an escort.)
Others might disagree with me, but when I choose a sensual or erotic masseur, I try to choose carefully and then just let them do their thing.

simongayx reacted to DMonDude in Normal not to be asked any questions by provider?
It's pretty normal yeah. You are not messaging the wrong guys. Most you might get asked is what you like/want to do if you don't open with that yourself. How you want to pay. Whether you want to come to the provider or have the provider come to you if you don't make that clear yourself first. Some of the newer/younger provider guys actually will ask you for a photo to see if you're attractive or not, but that's actually very much not the norm for most male providers. Most are totally prepared to see you sight unseen.
They don't! But the odds are low. Female providers just are more likely targets for law enforcement, physical/sexual assault, human trafficking, and they are more at risk for STDs because women have less protections against them outside of vaccinations and condom use. So they have to put in more effort to protect themselves against all of that.
Male providers who see male clients and the male clients seeking them on the other hand are much smaller portion of the sex work industry and as such are less likely to be targeted by law enforcement. Male providers are less likely to be victims of assault by client (not to say it never happens, it's just less likely). Also, lots of gay/bi men are used to anonymous meetups or meeting total strangers for sex based on  none, one, or a few pics in the middle of the night at places they've never been via hookup apps like Grindr or Sniffies. So that same cavalierness transfers to this.
Not sure if you're just new to hiring male providers, or totally new to men in general...
But STDs are somewhat less of a concern because men who have sex with men specifically have access to medications like PrEP as well as Doxy Pep that drastically lower our risk of catching STDs. These medications are targeted at the the men who have sex with men community because we're a smaller community that is having more sex, so when STDs do go around they spread in the community much faster. So the focus on STD spread suppression and medical study and preventative treatment dissemination is generally focused on the LGBTQ+ community because we had the AIDS epidemic in the 80s/90s.
And simultaneously most of those medications are not tested on or approved for women yet. So with female providers, all the onus of STD mitigation is largely on the client. They have to trust you'll bring condoms or use the ones they give you or trust you on whatever your last test results you had that you tell them, with not much else to fall back on.
Male providers can take these medications on their own and be more in control of the amount of risk they're taking when they engage in sexual activity. PrEP is a pill you take once a day and is 99% effective against preventing HIV infection. And there are newly available injection versions. One is a once every 2 months shot and the other is a twice a year shot. Both with the same effectiveness as the once a day pill version.
Doxy Pep is a pill much like the morning after pill/Plan B that you take after a sexual encounter. You have up to 72 hours to take it but the closer you take it to when the sex happened the better it works. It lowers chances of getting syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia by 50-80%. Those and most other STDs are curable or treatable or are something you won't get because you likely received a vaccine for it as a child, like HPV.
Gaining and keeping access to PrEP and Doxy Pep requires that you get tested for STDs every 3 months too. So people who do catch something are finding out quickly and getting treated sooner which ultimately lowers spread overall. So we're at a point where many male providers and men who have sex with men just in general feel ok to just take the pills/shot and have their fun/do their job with no questions asked. They accept the much reduced risk.
There are concerns that STDs are becoming resistant to these drugs (there's a particularly strain of gonorrhea that is becoming an issue, but also just last year a new highly effective treatment was FDA approved), but it's something the medical field is closely watching out for. Which is part of why access to PrEP/Doxy Pep requires you be tested regularly so they can keep track of infection spikes and such. Not much else to be done about it till it actually happens in a more serious way beyond that.
So, yeah male providers just don't really ask many questions. It just makes the initial interaction/setup way more efficient, but it probably feels sketchy as hell when you're new to this side of it as a client. That's absolutely how i felt when i was new to this.

I think escorts are an easy target because they elicit little sympathy from the public when they're caught.
I think milo is a fairly harmless, naive person, excited about an awards show who was then subject to institutionalized and professional interrogation techniques by people who know the book in and out.
I think a kinder system would have told him he needs to seek a business meetings visa for the show or similar,   and issue a stern warning about doing any work, such as content creation without authorization, before re-trying an entry. I think treating him with this type of scrutiny with the purpose to elicit a confession to obtain a 10 year ban is cruel.
I think it wasn't that long ago that the idea of a government agent scrolling through your private DMs, photos, and bank statements without a warrant was treated as a dystopian nightmare.

One masseur made the massage transitioning from therapeutic to sensual+extras feel less like massage choreography and more like he was just losing focus on the massage and gaining sexual interest in me and exploring/playing with my body for his enjoyment, and i haven't really found others who've done that. It turned me on way more even though i knew he was still performing/doing his thing. I usually don't get aroused during a massage till the masseur actually touches my genitals (mainly because the firm massage pressure on other body parts just draws blood away from the region for me).
This guy got me aroused very early because the way he handled the transition made the sensual/sexual tension a lot more palpable because he made it feel like he was the one enjoying me as opposed to where it usually feels like I'm the one receiving the privilege to engage with the ultra hot masseur (which of course, obviously is what is happening). But because of the latter, I'm always aware they're just doing what they gotta do (even when they're good at it). But this guy really made it feel like he was the one having the fun and it was just really great.
