Dilbert comic strip dropped by US media over creator's racist tirade
WWW.BBC.COM The comic strip's creator Scott Adams said white people should "get the hell away" from black people. Not so sad he's dead.

Most of the answers are not relatable to all because there are actually some among us not American. In Canada the sex worker possesses impunity. The client does not, but there is at least one case where the client was ordered by the courts to pay the worker after she formally complained that he had refused to follow through on agreed upon payment following sex. He was not charged under the legislation that prohibits hiring, for which penalties can be quite substantial, as context is everything, that is, what justice is appropriately served. The thrust of the law is protecting the vulnerable from exploitation, mainly related to coercion and trafficking, and that is the central thing that it addressed in this case … exploitation via withholding compensation. That money was not exchanged did not make it consensual sex or legal.
That said, there is discretion to lay charges against a purchaser for something as basic as procuring sex from an advertising sex worker in exchange for goods in kind. But authorities generally turn a blind eye whether it’s more traditional hiring or private lap dances in clubs, as these are minor relative to the organized crime of trafficking in adults, or worse, minors. Authorities can, therefore, use the big stick against a bad actor engaged in basic purchase aimed at procurement of a vulnerable person for his own eventual financial gain. He might plead out to rescind some of the charges.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is ruling whether escorts’ appointment drivers are considered protectors not chargeable versus facilitators for pimps where organized procurement occurs, or even if only the escort and driver comprise the business arrangement. It’s complex because a pimp takes a cut and a driver of a private escort without a pimp takes a cut, yet roles overlap. Pimping is associated with a stereotype of abuse.

Some would opine that those professions were ever deserving of that fate.

this stuff fascinates me....thanks @Tygerscent
slightly off topic: I once was in a major South American city's airport and a local tourist rep was surveying international passengers about their local experiences, etc.......he spoke fine English and asked me questions about my home country, America......I said I was from the US, not "America", and he thanked me for making that distinction!.......I've always been a bit embarrassed about how the US came to be called America, much to the obvious exclusion of the rest of the Americas......(of course, saying one is American is easier than saying one is United Statesian, but that's further off-topic!)

Bill4BigJosh reacted to + DrownedBoy in Asking a provider’s political affiliation?
Escorts, like Grindr hookups, sometimes can't help but open their mouths about politics and kill the mood.
The worst are the wannebe SJWs who are really ignorant, and just have knee-jerk reactions to everything without any brain cells to think critically.

You know (I guess) that it is impossible to eradicate homosexuality and bisexuality. Do LGB people suffer from a higher incidence of depression, substance abuse, suicide? That might have been true in the past, not so sure about now. I need to see current statistics. Trans is a very different issue, because their suicide rates are sky-high.
In any case, nonconforming sexualities are an immutable trait. The solution is to help people of nonconforming sexualities cope with their mental health issues. In stark contrast, single motherhood and absent fatherhood are the consequences of bad life choices and irresponsibility, elective human behaviors that 1) can very much be changed, and 2) whose pernicious consequences on both children and society as a whole need to be more widely made known.

You think wrong, then. I don't hope that my favorite porn performers are all straight, and I don't hope the gay ones "settle down with a wife & kids." I get your sentiment -- that once a performer leaves porn that they have a fulfilling life. I just don't think that necessarily means having a hetero-normative life.

I think we all hope that our favorite stars “graduate” from porn and go on to finish college, start a successful business, settle down with a wife & kids … but it rarely turns out that way. R.I.P. Jamie.

Anybody else here had the experience of a provider without any provocation erupting into an emotional hissyfit about politics? It happened to me recently. There was much hissing and moral outrage on "his" part. Since I am attracted to men, it was- shall we say - more than a little deflating.

I'm surprised at all the response my original post elicited. Some commenters here seem concerned if a provider's political views don't "align" with theirs. I make no such demands. My objection was this person's bringing up a contentious political point, without provocation, and - without any response from me - launching an expletive-laden rant. For me, it was the bad judgment combined with the emotional incontinence.

Bill4BigJosh reacted to ericwinters in Did Florida get something right? High Speed rail service thriving
The only Amtrak service I enjoy and rely on is Acela from Boston to DC with stops in NYC and Philly. I sure wish there was Acela when I was in college! I'm in TexAss now, and Amtrack is sparse to nonexistent. Progressives keep talking about semi-high-speed rail between major cities, but that is decades away if it ever happens.
