I was there over Thanksgiving this past year and stopped into the Pocket to see how she's been.
Aside from the bartender smoking outside and telling us that we're 'better off anywhere else,' it was pretty much the typical Pocket experience I've come to know.
A few malnourished gogos.  Another one who clearly couldn't stop eating.  A bummer of a scene, to be honest.  The guys looked so glazed-over that there was no possible way this could have been a sexy, exciting environment.
We stayed for one overpriced drink (cash only) and left.

He's comfortable in a city like Chicago, but wealthy, no.  
This kind of money isn't nearly enormous for Chicago. 
Enormous is having the disposable income of the Pritzker family.

I have never run into these problems because I am aware of what each of my friends are capable of paying for. So I adjust plans accordingly.
For example an artist friend of mine invited me to an off-Broadway show for which she got free tickets through a lottery system. I picked up the tab for dinner. I paid $150 / she paid nothing. But she invited me to an interesting event none-the-less. Does it really matter that you go toe-to-toe on the cash ? I think with all relationships whether it's friends or live-in-lovers; it's about equal effort, not equal numbers.

Well, most (not all) of the Adonis entertainers aren't really "Rentmen"-kinda guys. They don't really want to have to manage all the RM logistics, contacts and inquiries, but would  rather just show up when Tim or Matt say to and make some quick money in one evening not having to do the heavy stuff.  Many very definitely will meet privately with clients, but they prefer the initial introduction to be in person at an Adonis event. If Adonis guys appeal, the best thing, of course, is to attend the events, chat the guys up, tip generously, show you're not a weirdo, then very politely and respectfully propose a private meeting.

I love discussing sheets and thread count.  I'm a weirdo.
Frette is good, but it's nowhere near worth what they charge.  For much less money, you can get a long-staple cotton sheet set that feels amazing and lasts a long, long time.  Sferra Giza 45 are one example.
At home, I only use white percale-blend sheets.  They sleep cooler, are crisp and can be bleached.  My personal favorite brands are Brooklinen and LL Bean.
The thread count thing is a little wishy-washy, as most brands who say they're 1000+ aren't actually, but just doubling/splitting their threads and getting to the number that way.  A lot of times, the extreme high thread ends up feeling worse and wearing much more quickly.

Statistics are everything. 
You're more likely to die in a car accident on the way to or from the airport. 
Air travel is incredibly safe. 
If you want to have fear, at least be afraid of something that makes numerical sense.
