  1. Apps like Signal, Whatsapp, Telegram. Many clients prioritize discretion and privacy (as do providers), and end-to-end encrypted messaging greatly helps facilitate that instead of regular texting. Why isn't this common in the US? Whatsapp at least is more common abroad. Maybe the risk is already perceived as so low that most just don't care. If I were retired or close to it I wouldn't care, but I'm not, and these apps seem to offer a big upside with little downside.
  2. Does anyone have different tipping practices when it comes to masseurs vs. deli providers? For some reason it feels awkward for me not to tip after a massage, probably because I've received so many therapeutic ones at established spas where tipping is always an expectation. With a deli encounter I don't feel that same baseline pressure.
  3. @Whippoorwill, I'd like to purchase your autobiography. Those stories are great. Pre-revolutionary Iran, post-legalization India... that really runs the gamut. And I happen to like smut that comes with a history lesson or two.
  4. Welcome to the forum.
  5. There's only one hotel recommended in that thread, and that hotel has since closed.
  6. Any recent experiences?
  7. Are there any high end hotels where this isn't the case? I thought that was standard now.
  8. Just knowing that he's been in prison, without knowing the details? No, not a dealbreaker at all. It's not exactly uncommon. Sure, there are certain crimes that would be a dealbreaker if I somehow knew about them, but that's not a realistic expectation which is why this site, street smarts, and intuition are important.
  9. I've evaluated potential buyers with info I can find online, but only in the service of determining how likely they are to follow through on the deal. I never actually met them in person. Looks didn't factor into it. In the end, cash is king. Congrats on your home sale!
  10. It seems that his issues with chronic back pain and surgery were a big factor in withdrawing from his former life. New York Times reports he told a friend that his back condition makes dating and physical intimacy impossible.
  11. Advertising in SF now. Immediately recognized the face as a OF model from eastern Europe. The photos/vids on RM are convincing but I wouldn't be surprised if lifted from OF. Not sure how RM verifies photos but despite that, a very suspicious profile. Based on other threads that mention him, seems to be a scam or bait and switch.
  12. That's a good point Apex! I forgot that could actually be ideal for a guy with a 9 to 5. I've usually assumed providers keep bartender hours, roughly.
  13. How open do you think providers are to very early morning appointments? I'm talking like 6 AM or 7 AM. I frequently go through periods where my schedule is chaos and those times would be great for me but I've always assumed that would be way too early to get someone's A-game or for them to show up at all (and I can't blame them). Any experiences?
  14. Don't time the market. "Far more money has been lost by investors trying to anticipate corrections, than lost in the corrections themselves.” - Peter Lynch It's basically a cardinal rule for anyone who manages their own money, though most sabotage themselves by not following it and not understanding why it's important.
  15. My gym locker room is full of guys taking posing selfies despite the signs prohibiting photography. So I don't blame anyone not wanting to get caught in their photos.
  16. I've played around with fiber intake, supplements, timing of eating, what I eat etc. and I still can't imagine not douching. I'm careful not to douche too deeply which can create a mess itself but I envy those who apparently don't need to at all. The physician who casts himself as the gay anal sex expert has said that douching shouldn't be necessary when other factors are attended to but I still don't see how that can be achieved.
  17. I've never heard of that and can't find any evidence to support that. If anything it's probably good to take calcium/vitamin D with PrEP since that could help offset potential losses in bone density. No reason why those can't be taken at the same time as far as I can see.
  18. IMO, there's a world of difference between offering simple cash for sex and threatening to impede one's career if sex is not provided or otherwise implying career advancement/opportunities in exchange for sex. There are certainly gray areas in the latter case (such as people offering sex to those in a position of power instead of a more top-down power dynamic). But this appears to be an example of a clear top-down power dynamic with threats to the models' livelihoods and career if they didn't play along and I find those cases to be clearly coercive and abusive.
  19. To be clear the calcium in dairy interferes with doxycycline's absorption. So space out consumption at least a couple hours. Also space out antacids/multivitamins with doxy.
  20. What I meant by that was that some people have personalities that preclude honest and safe dealing with other people -- in other words, criminals. That comment was in no way meant to describe homeless people in general. Just something I would be attuned to if dealing with someone living on the streets (which is a more specific population than "homeless"). For the record, I don't place blame on this general group of people for their circumstances and believe most of them are victims of forces beyond their individual control. I'll leave it at that.
  21. If someone's sleeping on the street, then there are deeper issues than just homelessness and financial insecurity. It's a sign that someone has burned all their bridges, usually as a result of drug use, untreated mental illness, or simply having a personality that's incompatible with polite company. Don't put yourself in a position where you'll get burned too. Oh, but to answer your actual question... that's a tough one. Honestly it would be good to know who this is so clients can steer clear, but on the other hand I could see how some might judge sharing that info to be in bad taste.
  22. Yes it's typical and most seem not to care. Most providers seem to expect doing so. I'm with you though, I don't like that texts hang around forever and using a burner (app or phone) doesn't change that. I don't really understand why apps like Signal aren't more widely used here.
  23. Are providers notified when you add them to your buddy list or is it private?
  24. Thanks Apex! That's really helpful.
  25. Bump. Open to DMs too 🙂
