ICTJOCK got a reaction from TMB in Anybody else fall for the men they hire?
You remind me of an opposing counsel trying to argue his client's position in court. You certainly have your opinion and I have mine. I provide the service, One needs to be aware of emotional attachments and be candid and straightforward about undue personal attachments. In my business it isn't a problem. Enough said.

It shows nothing except someone who wants to create an issue when in this instance there isn’t one.

As a provider, I'm certainly aware that several of my regular clients have some degree of emotional attachment. I'm a professional person by nature (and via regular career), so it can be an interesting "tightrope" to walk to do a job, be balanced and logical and provide a very personal service. Think about it, it really is a contrast and to navagate it appropriately can require talent. I am not into drama, I'm there to provide a positive service that means something to the recipient.

ICTJOCK got a reaction from + azdr0710 in Yet another fine dining establishment is struggling
Have had several long time restaurants go out in Kansas of late. Very sad. The latest a family owned German restaurant in Newton. It had been serving the community for 43 years. Apparently the building was sold and the owners of the restaurant retiring. The new owners don't want to continue the restaurant. Another favorite mexican restaurant shut due to tax reasons and another had declining attendance due to pricing (but when the announcement was made they were closing, they were swamped). Times change I suppose.

Very tragic. I also read the story about the son. Troubling. Thoughts and prayers to their family. A real loss.

ICTJOCK got a reaction from + Pensant in Lottery Fever: Have you caught it? Who would be the first escort you would call?
For years I would always say, "I've never spent any money toward a lottery ticket" and then with the jackpot at some unbelievable level, I bought two. Haven't ever since.

It was a great time and a lot of good food. Enjoyed time with friends and family. I hope it was a good day for all!

ICTJOCK got a reaction from marylander1940 in Clients with holiday appreciation
Whether it be Thanksgiving or the Christmas holidays, its always a busy time for about everybody. With that in mind, a regular client asked if I would have any time on Thanksgiving day for a booking. He's a regular when he's in town seeing family or on business. He said he would add a bonus since "time for all on this day is at a premium". I hadn't planned bookings on Thanksgiving because of time with family and friends and my desire to rest a bit. In the end, we weren't able to make it happen because of his schedule. Not a problem.
So he is rescheduling for Saturday, but said he still owes me the bonus because he promised it. I told him he owes me nothing beyond my basic rate, but he said he'd feel bad if he doesn't provide it. We then had a conversation about how both viewed it. He said it would be a "holiday bonus" for good service. I appreciate it.
I assume many providers here have had something similar. I hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving and a good weekend ahead.

Opening 140 new locations that bring profit while closing 140 underperforming locations is not stagnation. It's all about cash flow when you're running a large corporation.

ICTJOCK got a reaction from + Vegas_Millennial in Asking a provider’s political affiliation?
I would say I have never been ask by a potential client what my politics are, certainly not as any sort of criteria for hiring. I have had political conversations, but they are always made by the client and if they happen to be different than my own, I keep my conversation limited. This goes for all my business dealings, not just my work as an escort. If the client DOES have the same political views that I do, I still tend to be very moderate (which I am anyway) and let him talk if he chooses. It is his time and I can be a good listener.

ICTJOCK reacted to DznNYC in NYC provider meet-up
I think both kinds of meetups have their place! I've found real value in getting to know other sex workers. You have moments where you realize how strange the provider life can be, so it can be really nice to get to meet guys who've had similar experiences.
The provider/client meetup would be great too. A chance to get to get to know guys on both sides of the industry in a low pressure environment could be really nice!
The Palm Springs meetup is a terrific ambitious event, and I hope I can make it someday. But a casual happy hour meetup is a great way to start.

ICTJOCK reacted to mike carey in NYC provider meet-up
I second what @azdr0710 said. I know that @DznNYC floated this idea as a providers' function and he may want to keep it that way rather than have clients also attend. Some discussions don't need clients there (or to be blunt, may only work when they are not), but some of the things that AZDR said apply to any gathering with three or more people (or they can).
My last job was in a workplace with about a score of people. Too many work lunches went south to a greater or lesser extent. Arguments about choosing from the house menu or a set meal with limited choices, whether people split the tab or paid for what they ordered, how to manage the bar tab to name a few. After a couple of dramas, I organised one where after a poll of where we would go, and some brief discussions with a few in the work hierarchy I organised the lunch with set menu, house wine and non alcoholic beverages included, other drinks order and pay separately, and split the bill. Take it or leave it. It was the smoothest we'd had in a while. As AZDR said, it needs someone to organise it, no negotiations, not a committee. Some people still complain, but more quietly, but everyone else says 'You knew what you were signing up for'.
That's how Oliver's events run too. There's a reason they work.

I don't live back east, but have attended a couple DC forum events (several years ago) and many Palm Spgs forum weekends......
this idea can range from a simple bar hangout one afternoon to multi-day with several planned events, but one person will need to be the default organizer, run it, and see it through start to finish........
there are just a few NY providers here in the forum, registered or not (!), and many who've never heard of this place.......I'm sure the NY forum providers here already know each other to varying extents and can come up with a plan.......
my main point is that one person needs to take the lead, be a leader, and make the plan....DO NOT poll the group asking for dates on which each person is available!.....(yes, that happened one year here in the forum and any semblance of a plan/event fell apart quickly)

The biggest recurring successful meeting like this has been the annual Palm Springs Gathering hosted every April by our own @Oliver, although 2025 gathering may have been the last one hosted by Oliver (we are all forever grateful for the effort Oliver has put in every year to make this happen).
Following the success of this gathering, the organizer may ask the Moderator to pin the NYC gathering announcement to the top of the Lounge when it is first announced. Interested attendees would be directed to contact the organizer and provide an email for communication regarding the venue. If given several months notice, many out of town clients and providers may be interested.
The annual Palm Springs Gathering seems to have had about 50 men in attendance, with a 60/40 split of clients/providers.
The NYC gathering could be Townhouse Bar one night, then dinner on the following night, as a suggestion. Something substantial enough to make it worthwhile to block it the dates and be sure to attend, but not too elaborate and flexible on the number of people.

I certainly would enjoy attending the event. My largest concern is the timing with conclusion of tax season underway. Certainly include me as a potential attendee.
