One Night In Miami is available on Prime. Apparently Cassius Clay (at the time) had defeated Sonny Liston that evening and got together with Malcolm X, Jim Brown and Sam Cooke to celebrate. Film is fictional but suggests a path their conversation might have traveled.

There's been talk about a revival. Others, as well, think it didn't get the appreciation it deserved. No idea if or when. Believe it has been done with some success in productions around the country.

A thread to discuss what we're enjoying on platforms other than Netflix.
The Sound Of Metal on Prime is a very good watch. It's the story of a metal drummer losing his hearing. Music only at the very beginning and the story focuses on a young man facing a life crippling disability. Unforgotten streams on Prime and is well worth a watch.

Thanks! I don't download porn, I just stream it as I rarely watch something more than once or twice. I appreciate your advice.

Thread already started in television and streaming.

Long and short of it - it's fucking hard.

Mark Twain was told he was good but could never be considered great because only the Elizabethans were great. In response he wrote his very raunchy essay 1601 in that style.
GENTLES, WHAT MATTERETH IT HOW YE SPELL YE WORD?I WARRANT YE WHEN YE USE YOUR BOLLOCKS YE SHALL NOT THINK OF IT; AND MY LADY GRANBY, BEE YE CONTENT, LET YE SPELLING BE; YE SHALL ENJOY YE BEATING OF THEM ON YOUR BUTTOCKS JUST YE SAME I TROW. BEFORE I HAD GAINED MY FOURTEENTH YEARE, I HADDE LEARNED THAT THEM THAT WOULD EXPLORE A CUNT, STOPP'D NOT TO CONSIDER YE SPELLING O'T.

The very good Unforgotten streams on Amazon Prime. It's a British mystery that takes a somewhat different approach.

I'm all for the online sites. 1) ProPublica 2) Talking Points Memo (liberal) 3) Raw Story (clickbait liberal) 4) Hit And Run (libertarian) 5) Naked Capitalism (economic) 6) The Unz report (economic +) 7) The Bulwark (conservative) 8) American Spectator ( conservative) and 9) Reddit for their world news and futurology sub-reddits. I also subscribe to the NYT and totally respect Radley Balko's work for the Washington Post.

So you’ve been in a foreign jail?? ?
Time to come clean - was walking to a hotel in Reynosa, Mexico with a friend late at night and was arrested because I looked like I was going to start a riot. $40.00 later I was free to go.
-
Never have I ever been in an American jail.

What The Constitution Means To Me is now streaming on Amazon Prime. It was a big hit on Broadway last season and I enjoyed it a great deal when I finally saw it today. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/what_the_constitution_means_to_me

It's a very good production. I saw it on Broadway and can't wait to see it again. Brian Dennehy nails it, always felt he was a vastly underestimated actor. Elizabeth Franz nails Linda too.

Went to a Duane Reade to get my flu shot - 2nd time I tried and they were still out. Pharmacist directed me to a Rite Aid that had a supply. Got my shot and went back to thank the pharmacist. A good news story for these troubled times.

I did with a plumber once. Unattractive and really bad sex so take this fantasy off your list. Get back to cops and firefighters, the blue collar workers who truly deserve our delusional, unrequited obsession. (Wasn't a very good plumber either)

The Social Dilemma on Netflix is a must watch. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11464826/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
Dissects social media and how it affects all of our lives. No spoilers but it is frightening and a real wake up call.

You might also take a look at Charite on Netflix.

There's also Charite At War. In both series the doctors depicted were real doctors at the time. Charite is a hospital in Germany.
One possible VERY positive result of Covid
