I think there's also another problem with this stat - it seems to be talking about penile-vaginal intercourse. As gay people are coming out earlier, many aren't bothering with the "bang a chick to prove I'm not gay" stage of sexual development.

Streisand's response is both a very human one and an immoral one.

At the risk of making myself unpopular here, it isn't all that different from letting James Levine continue to take advantage of students until he was about to retire because he was such an artistic boon to the Met. Granted, his victims weren't as young, but many of them were still underage, and comments similar to Striesand's were made about them on this very forum when they went public.

And here we are ten years later. The Dreamliner is now profitable for Boeing and Airbus has announced the end of the A380 program. Not saying I would have predicted these outcomes, but it is interesting.

I like the Green Lantern. I was visiting DC and went there 24 years ago. They gave me a coupon for a free drink, but I didn't have time to use it. When I got home, I showed the coupon to the bartender at the Red Lantern, and he honored it.

So. I haven't had much to report on this front, but I've been getting out, playing ball and hanging out afterwards with the group, volunteering, etc. I was talking to one of the basketball guys after playing today and we were discussing Agents of Shield, which we both like. I mentioned I hadn't seen Black Panther yet, and he said, "Let's go tonight."I said sure and asked him if he wanted to grab dinner first. He said sure. A nice guy, a little older than me, with a deep voice.

I think I'm going on a date tonight.

One of the advantages of being a gay man is that one can be top or bottom, depending on your general inclination, your mood at the moment, or the situation. It's not like being unable to fit square pegs in round holes, so to speak. All you can do is make some connection, see if there is a spark of sexual attraction, and do whatever makes both of you comfortable. BTW, not everyone finds oral sex as the default position.

So this fellow goes into the doctor's office.

"What seems to be the problem?" the doctor asks.
"Well, every time I fart, instead of the usual toot, my fart sounds like HONDA!"
"Hmmm," the doctor thought. "Can you remove your pants and let me take a look at your anus?"
"Uh ... sure ..." and the patient does what he was asked.
"AHA!" the doctor says, "It's just as I thought. You have a perianal abscess."
"Oh? Okay ... but you seemed to know that before you even examined me."
    "Well, the reason is ...

"Abscess makes the fart go HONDA."

In the middle of last year, a Sydney woman had a DNA test. She received more from it than she had bargained for. At almost the same time, another woman, in Jacksonville, also had a test. Both had been born in London, one in 1947 and the other in 1951, and both had been adopted as babies. What their DNA told them was that they had similar ancestry. In fact, that they were probably half-siblings. The ABC made this great radio documentary about them.

Bnac, you also share a cool story of a long lost sib showing up out of the blue and " being instantly accepted by a huge extended family who accepted him for no other reason than sharing the same dna. " That's the kind of story that gets told and retold at family gatherings for decades.

Some sociologists maintain than such shared stories are the brick and mortar from which human families are constructed and maintained. The story of your search; The story of that first phone call. The first meeting; how Aunt Sue was the first to notice your laugh was just like your grandfather's. Endless bricks to make a family.

I hate to sound like a public service announcement. But I just had a THIRD friend tell me that as a gay man (who regularly sucks other guys to completion), he went into his doctor for a full STD screening because of a chronic sore throat, and the (straight uninformed) family practitioner tested him for gonorrhea and chlamydia by giving him a URINE test... only.
    THIS DOESN'T WORK.

When he and I talked and I expressed dismay, he followed up with his doctor, who insisted "people don't really get that in their throat - it's very, very unlikely". So he went to another doctor who swabbed. Sure enough... he had gonococcal gonorrhea.

I can attest that I personally have had gonorrhea in my throat (in the distant past) and I've known several other friends who have also. And of them - only about half had symptoms... the others just had knowledgeable doctors who knew their risk behaviors and wisely checked them in routine testing. **Also NOTE this infection is getting more and more resistant to antibiotics - and only a few still work, so let's keep on top of it boys!

If your physician or practicing clinic doesn't swab your throat - get a new doctor.
Ok - off my soap box.

I avoid family angst by inadvertently shaming them. Today, as in 24 past years, spent the day feeding the homeless. I just got home following 6 hours of organizing donations, dishing out food and distributing to the hungry. Now I get to take a shower followed by a nap and no one can or better not dare to judge me for not sitting down with them.

please stop blaming american red cross and all the other companies, it is NOT something they can choose to disregard. they are MANDATED to follow FDA regulations. they have NO choice in the matter. If you want to blame someone, blame the Federal government.
Blood and Plasma companies have multiple times challenged the regulation and have systematically asked for the removal of MSM due to the advancement in testing. We are damn lucky to have the current 12 month deferral in place, it was a long fight just to get that.
